epilogue: woosan
(author's note: edited, new woosan epilogue.)
two years later...
"everyone, please take a seat and tighten your seatbelts. flight 302 from seoul to busan will be taking off any minute now."
"wooyoung, are you excited to see san again?" wooyoung's mom said to him as she seatbelted herself in, making sure to stay safe before the plane took off.
"are you kidding? i can't even put into words how happy i am right now!" wooyoung cheered out loud, his voice almost echoing through the plane as he spoke.
"me too, wooyoung. i haven't seen my baby in two months! i swear, i don't know why i agreed to let him go away for school." san's mom said, chiming into the conversation between wooyoung and his mother.
after san graduated high school a few months prior, he decided that he wanted to go away to school. while he knew it would be hard to leave his family, his friends and especially his boyfriend, san also knew that he needed to experience a new environment to really grow as an adult. because of this, he decided to attend a school in the city of busan, which was a four hour drive from his hometown.
due to the rather far distance, san didn't get the chance to come home very often. and since wooyoung was still in high school, the boy was often busy with his own work, so he couldn't make many trips down to san.
but, this week was different. unlike college students, wooyoung had a week off of school for their annual winter break. so, after a bit of convincing, wooyoung, his mother and san's mother decided it would be a great idea to take a plane down to busan and surprise san at school.
"well, it's a good thing that we'll be able to see san in about an hour." wooyoung's mom said to both her son and san's mother with a smile on her face, seeming excited for the trip ahead of her. wooyoung nodded his head up and down vigorously in response, the boy then moving to rest his head on his mother's shoulder as he closed his eyes and waited for the plane to take off.
——
after what felt like a lifetime to wooyoung, the plane had finally landed in the city of busan. the boy could barely contain his excitement, his small body bouncing up and down in his seat as he waited for mrs. choi to grab the suitcases from the above cubby.
"here honey, i got your suitcases out." san's mother said kindly to wooyoung, placing his red suitcases lightly on the floor of the plane.
"thank you mrs. choi!" wooyoung exclaimed, a big smile plastered on his lips as he spoke.
"no problem." mrs. choi simply responded, "i also got your suitcases out, ayeong. we can head out now!" mrs. choi exclaimed, having already taken her own suitcases out before anyone else's.
"you're a doll, sanghee." wooyoung's mom said as she began making her way out of the aisle, following behind her son closely.
the trio all grabbed their bags and began heading down the main aisle of the plane, thanking the flight attendants and the pilot before they exited. wooyoung couldn't help but skip down the halls of the large airport, leading the pact in whatever direction he decided to walk in.
"wooyoung hun, you're going the wrong way!" mrs. choi called out to the boy, her and wooyoung's mother laughing at wooyoung's lack of direction. wooyoung just blushed in response, feeling slightly embarrassed for wandering off without knowing where to go.
"i'm sorry." wooyoung said when he made it back to the moms.
"it's all good, but we need to go this way. i already called for a taxi to pick us up before the flight took off, we have about ten minutes before they arrive. so let's get moving!" mrs. choi cheered out, raising her arms in the air in excitement. both wooyoung and his mother copied her actions, raising their arms in the air before following mrs. choi's lead to the airport exit.
"mommy, i really can't wait to see sannie. i haven't seen him in two whole months!" wooyoung said to his mother as the trio continued walking, taking large steps to meet the taxi on time.
"i know baby, i'm excited for you! i won't lie and say i don't miss him too, i love having him around the house. it's weird when he's not home." wooyoung's mom said back honestly, missing san as well. san was like a second son to her, and so it didn't feel the same when the boy wasn't home.
thankfully, the trio made it to the airport exit just on time. san's mother went up to all the taxi's she saw, giving each one her name to find the right car. once she found the correct driver, she waved wooyoung and his mother on to put their luggage in the car's trunk. after all the luggage was packed, the three got into the car and drove off to san's dorm building.
"ok wooyoung, so after your mother and i say hi to san, we're going to leave you at the dorm to hang out with him alone. we'll then get back in this taxi and go down the block to pick up the rental car. once we get the car, we're going to head to the hotel to settle in. at around six, we'll come and pick you two up for dinner. sounds good?" san's mother said to wooyoung. wooyoung understood, nodding his head up and down rapidly in response.
the car ride wasn't a long one at all, san's school only a few minutes away from the airport. after what felt like a blink of the eye, the taxi pulled up to the front of san's dorm building to drop wooyoung and both mothers off.
"thank you, sir." san's mother said kindly to the taxi driver. wooyoung's mom and wooyoung both said their thank you's as well before exiting the vehicle. they decided to keep their luggage in the taxi for later, both mothers planning on going back into the car for a ride to pick up their rental car.
"sanghee, you have san's dorm room number, right?" mrs. jung asked kindly as they began walking towards the front entrance of san's dorm building.
"yes, he lives on the third floor, room number eighteen." san's mother said as they entered the building.
the trio quickly made it to the stairs, walking up two full flights to make it to the third floor. once they got to the correct floor, they followed behind mrs. choi to san's dorm room. since she had moved her son into the dorm room a few months prior, she knew where san's room was located.
"ok, we're here. i think wooyoung should be the one to knock on the door, san will be happiest to see him." mrs. choi suggested, earning a nod in agreement from wooyoung's mom. wooyoung didn't bother to oppose san's mother in the slightest, not waiting another minute before he rushed over and began eagerly knocking on san's bedroom door.
from inside the dorm room, san laid on his bed, confused as to who could be at the door. he knew he didn't invite anyone over, so he figured the knock was for his roommate.
"haknyeon, did you invite someone over?" san questioned from his side of the room, looking at the boy with furrowed eyebrows.
"no, and i didn't order anything either. go see who it is." haknyeon said back, equally as confused as san was.
san listened to the boy and quickly stood up, making his way towards the dorm room door. he didn't bother to check before swinging the door open, his face instantly turning from an expression of confusion to one of complete shock.
"oh my god, wooyoungie? wooyoung, you're here!" san screamed out loud, not bothering to keep his voice down in the slightest. he instantly ran into wooyoung's arms, quickly kissing the boy on the lips before wrapping him in a bone crushing hug.
"sannie! oh my gosh, i missed you so much! oh my gosh oh my gosh, i can't believe you're really here! i missed you so so much. i love you san!" wooyoung exclaimed equally as loud, jumping up and down as his mouth rambled out various different words.
"oh my god, i love you too babe!" san said as he continued hugging wooyoung tight, the boy finding it impossible to keep his tears in. rather than fighting them back, he decided to let the waterworks flow. this caused wooyoung to react the same, the tears falling down wooyoung's cheeks fast and hard.
san only let go of wooyoung when he felt a tap on his shoulder. when he looked to see who had tapped him, he realized it was his mother. san began crying even harder as he ran into her arms, embracing her tighter than ever before.
"mom, oh my god! i missed you so much, i haven't seen you in months!" san said as he squeezed his mother tight.
"i missed you too, b-baby." mrs. choi said, hiccupping on her words as she spoke, "mrs. jung also came to see you." she said as she backed away from san.
"my second mom!" san screamed as he ran into wooyoung's mothers arms.
"my second son!" wooyoung's mom screamed back, causing everyone around to laugh out loud. san eventually let go of the woman and ran back towards wooyoung, wrapping his arm around the boy's shoulder before speaking up.
"how did you guys get here?" san asked, confused as to how and why the three were at his dorm room unexpectedly.
"i convinced my mommy and your mommy to take me here, we flew on an airplane!" wooyoung exclaimed, his body shaking so quickly that it seemed as though he was vibrating from happiness.
"oh my god yes, i forgot you are off of school all week!" san exclaimed, hitting himself on the head for being so forgetful.
"yes, so now we're spending the week down here with you!" wooyoung's mom spoke up, sounding excited for the mini vacation they were on.
"that's awesome. you guys are the best!" san said, sounding truly happy as he spoke.
"of course. we love you, san. but, mrs. jung and i are going to head out now. we have a few things to do before we take you out to dinner tonight. until then, can wooyoung stay with you?" san's mother asked.
"you say that like i wasn't going to steal him away from you guys anyway." san said jokingly, laughing as he spoke to both the mother's in his presence. both mrs. jung and mrs. choi laughed along with him, nodding their heads in agreement with san's statement.
"that's true. we'll leave you two alone now, see you later!" san's mother said, moving in to give san a quick kiss on the forehead before heading out with wooyoung's mother by her side.
"bye bye!" wooyoung called out as both mother's walked away, all four of them waving goodbye to one another until the mom's were completely out of sight.
"ok, come inside!" san exclaimed, grabbing wooyoung's hand and leading the boy into his room. wooyoung couldn't contain his excitement, the boy a giggly mess as he followed behind his boyfriend.
"wooyoung, this is my roommate, haknyeon. haknyeon, this is my boyfriend, wooyoung." san said, making sure to introduce wooyoung to his kind roommate before doing anything else.
"hi haknyeon! my name is wooyoung." wooyoung said simply, running into haknyeon's arms to give the boy a hug. even though wooyoung didn't know haknyeon from a hole in the wall, he had so much energy in him that he couldn't control his actions.
"oh hi! i've heard many nice things about you, wooyoung." haknyeon said sweetly as he hugged wooyoung back, not minding the affection from the obviously happy boy.
wooyoung eventually backed away and ran towards the unoccupied bed in the room, figuring the bed must belong to san. he plopped himself down and began bouncing on the mattress, looking around the dorm for the first time in real life.
suddenly, haknyeon stood up from his bed and grabbed some of his stuff, "i'm sure you two would like to spend some time alone, so i think i'll head to younghoon's dorm for a bit. i'll see you two later!" haknyeon said, waving goodbye to both wooyoung and san before walking towards the front door.
"see you later!" san called out as he followed behind the boy to lock the door for him.
"bye bye!" wooyoung exclaimed as haknyeon left the room, leaving san and wooyoung by themselves.
san quickly locked the door and rushed over to his bed, jumping onto the comforter and attacking wooyoung with small kisses. wooyoung giggled under san's touch, his face scrunching up as he tried to push the boy off of him.
"sannie, y-you're tickling m-me!" wooyoung stuttered out, finding it hard to speak in between his laughs. san thankfully stopped and sat up, wooyoung quickly following his lead and sitting up as well.
"i'm just so happy right now, i can't believe you guys flew down to busan to see me." san said, the boy choking on his words a bit.
"of course we came down to see you! we all missed you so so much! i couldn't take another day without seeing you. seriously, i thought i would explode!" wooyoung said honestly as he leaned his head down on san's shoulder, the boy moving his arms to hug san's skinny body.
san laughed at wooyoung's choice of words as he rested his head on top of wooyoung's head, placing his hand on wooyoung's thigh and squeezing it lightly. he missed having his boyfriend in his arms, and he wanted to savor every moment he could with wooyoung until he had to go.
"how long are you guys staying down here for?" san asked, forgetting what wooyoung's mother had said a few moments prior.
"for a week, we go home next saturday." wooyoung said back as he continued lying on san's shoulder.
"i miss being able to see you everyday." san said with a frown on his face, speaking honestly. although he knew going way to school would be best, san also knew that it also meant losing the ability to see wooyoung everyday.
"it's ok sannie! we still call, text and facetime everyday. i know it's hard being away from one another, but once you're done with school, we can see each other more often again! like seriously, i'll never leave your side." wooyoung said, his words half true and half joking as he tried to bring light to the situation.
"of course." san said as he lifted his head off wooyoung's head. he then lightly pushed wooyoung's head off his shoulder and grabbed the boy's hands, turning his body to face wooyoung's body head on. wooyoung did the same, facing his body towards san's as he held onto both of san's hands.
"one day i'm going to marry you, wooyoung. one day in the future. maybe far, maybe near, but it will happen. and then, we'll get to spend the rest of our lives together. every single day, just you and i. you know that, right?" san said as he stared into wooyoung's eyes, a large smile appearing on his lips as he spoke.
san seriously meant every single word that he had said in that moment. san knew that wooyoung was the one, his only true person. san would never leave wooyoung, no matter what crossed the two.
wooyoung was the love of his life, and san couldn't wait to conquer the world with him.
"of course i know that! i've been dreaming about that day for two years now, and i can't wait for it to happen." wooyoung said as a matching smile appeared on his lips, his cheeks turning pink from blush. san giggled in response, leaning his head in to plant a quick kiss on wooyoung's lips.
"great, because i can't wait either."
here's the new woosan epilogue, i hope you guys don't hate it :(
