I feel I've reached the end,
before I've reached death

[season 1, episode 1: god u]
˚ ༘✶

'Last night at Skyscraper Club, this lady fell bleeding,' a lady's noise sounded from the voiceover on the Instagram video. 'This woman appears. She saved the girl's life.' A video of Marie appeared, using her powers to guide the blood back into her neck. Sadie turned to her left to look at Jordan, a smug smile appeared on her face.

Jordan groaned, running their hands through their quaffed black hair. "Don't say anything," they said as Sadie slipped her phone back into her pocket.

Sadie shook her head slowly, "I wasn't going to say anything," she said innocently.

Jordan scoffed, exhaling as they sat up in their bed. "Yeah, bullshit," they replied.

Sadie sighed, shifting in her spot next to Jordan. "Marie's not that bad," she pointed out. "I mean she's the one that saved the girl, while we just-" the girl paused for a second. "We fucking ran away," she finished.

"Sadie," Jordan said slowly. "Brink would have our heads on a stake if he found out we broke curfew and almost killed someone," they whispered, kicking the blanket off of their legs.

"Okay, technically, we didn't almost kill her. Andre did," Sadie said, tilting her head at Jordan.

"Yeah, but we were all there," Jordan responded shortly. "So we would've been guilty by association. But we weren't because we got the fuck out of there before everyone whipped out their cameras."

Sadie frowned, "I guess, but-" she stated but Jordan shook their head.

"Sadie," Jordan said, stopping her from taking. "We're fucking lucky we got out when we did, okay? We should just leave it at that. It doesn't do you any good to worry about it now. What's done is done," they said simply.

Sadie gulped, "You're right, you're right," she repeated. "And we haven't gotten in trouble yet," she added.

"Well also, it's literally only been twelve hours since the damn thing," Jordan pointed out, placing their feet down on the floor.

Sadie shot them a dirty look, "Okay, don't say that. That doesn't make it any better."

Jordan shrugged, stretching as they stood up. "I'm just saying," they said nonchalantly. They pulled their shirt over their head and tossed it into the laundry basket in the corner of their room. Sadie looked away, trying not to stare at them.

"Ah, um, thanks for letting me stay here by the way," Sadie said quickly, staring at a random point on the opposite wall. She gulped once more as she continued to stare the posters on their walls. "I just- I didn't want to be alone after what happened," she continued, running her hands through her ginger locks.

"Yeah of course," Jordan replied as they strolled over to their closet, rummaging through hangers shirts and sweaters. "I'm not gonna say no, you know that, right Sadie?"

"Hmm?" The woman hummed, still refusing to look at them.

Jordan rolled their eyes, "Sadie, look at me." Sadie glanced over at Jordan, who was in the middle of pulling a shirt over their chest. Sadie met their eyes.

"Yes?" she asked carefully, still playing with the ends of her hair.

"I wouldn't say no," Jordan repeated as they straightened out their shirt.

Sadie nodded slowly, "Right, okay," she responded.

"You ready to go?" Jordan asked her suddenly, adjusting the silver chain around their neck.

Sadie blinked, furrowing her brows at the change in attitude. "Wha-what?" she spluttered. "Where? What the hell are you talking about?" She straightened up on the mattress as she continued to stare at them.

"Uh- um, Brink's," Jordan said, running their hands through their hair awkwardly. "We're not in trouble or anything," they added, noticing the look on Sadie's face. "I just have to do some work and I figured you'd want to come with. It's better than staying here by yourself," they offered, returning their hands to their side.

"Oh, uh, yeah! Yeah!" Sadie said quickly, throwing the rest of the blanket off herself. She was still in her dress and makeup from last night, although most of it made rubbed off on Jordan's pillow. "Give me like two minutes and I'll be ready to go. Actually," she paused for a second. "Could I borrow some clothes? I think we're the same size when you're-"

"A girl?" Jordan clarified, laughing slightly.

Sadie smiled, "Yeah, a girl," she repeated.

In the blink of an eye, Jordan changed. Their hair was now a short bob, and they were a few inches shorter than they were a few seconds ago. "I think I can dig something up for you," Jordan said with a small nod.

"Thanks, I appreciate it," Sadie mumbled.

About ten minutes later Sadie and Jordan were making their way inside the crimefighting building. "Are you sure Brink's won't mind me hanging around for the day?" Sadie asked them, pulling on the edge of the sweater that Jordan let her borrow.

"Sadie, relax, Brink loves you," Jordan said, patting the girl on her back. "You and Luke are like his star pupils. He'll only be mad if he finds out about the curfew thing and that girl almost dying."

"Which he won't, right?" Sadie said tentatively.

Jordan nodded, "Right. Brink won't know a thing."

"Good, good," Sadie said, nodding to herself.

Sadie loitered outside of Brink's office as Jordan slipped inside. The girl awaited for a few minutes before Jordan reappeared, holding a stack of papers in their hand. "Copies. He didn't mention anything about the girl," Jordan said, holding up the stack of papers. Sadie breathed a sigh of relief, the feeling finally returning to her fingers. "Come with me?" they asked.

"Course," Sadie replied as the two began to walk down the hallway once more. The two didn't get too far down when they saw Luke strut up to Brink's door. "Hey, Luke!" she said, giving the boy a smile. He didn't respond, but Sadie didn't think anything of it. Luke was usually a little out of it after their nights out.

Jordan nodded as Luke passed them. "How you feel?" they asked. "Cause I'm sweating cocaine." Once again Luke didn't say anything, he just continued his march to Brink's door.

Sadie and Jordan exchanged quick glances but Jordan just shrugged. "He's probably out of it," they said, confirming Sadie's suspicions. "Let's just go."

The two continued down the hallway, quickly walking away from Brink's office.

"Hey!" Someone said causing Sadie to look up.

"Marie?" Sadie asked as the young woman strode up to the pair.

"Do you know?" Marie asked instantly, looking between Jordan and Sadie, a pissed off look on her face. "What Brink's doing to protect you?"

Sadie blinked while Jordan just shook their head. "What are you talking about?" they asked Marie, but she just scoffed and continued her walk, pushing past the pair to get to wherever she was going. "Jesus, what's with everybody today?" they asked. "The girl is instagram famous now, she should be fucking grateful."

Sadie sighed, "Maybe she's just got some shit going on?" she offered. "I mean, whatever it is it must be big enough for her to go storming into Brink's office. It's just- none of our fucking business," she finished.

"Yeah, you're right," Jordan said, holding the papers closer to their chest. "It's just a little weird? I don't know, it feels like something's off. Everyone's acting fucking weird."

"It's probably the molly," Sadie said. "I was out for a good few days after my first trip. Maybe it's the same for Marie? And Luke is just- you know, just Classic Luke. Classic Golden Boy," she repeated, nodding to herself.

Jordan opened their mouth to say something, but the pair was interrupted once more. "Run!" Sadie heard Marie shout as she came barreling down the hallway. The two barely had any time to process what was going on before Marie crashed into them, causing Jordan to drop their stack of papers on the floor.

"Hey, what the fuck?" Jordan snapped, reaching down to gather their papers.

"Marie? What's going on?" Sadie asked, a panicked look on her face. "You're kinda freaked right now."

Marie opened and closed her mouth, trying to form a coherent sentence to respond to the girl in front of her.

"Marie!"

Sadie whipped around to see Luke stop right in front of the three of them. His eye's ablaze as his body returned to normal. The boy was seething, looking from Marie to Sadie to Jordan. Jordan frowned, stepping in front of the two girls. "Uh, Luke, what's, uh.. what's going on?" they asked. "Maybe. Maybe put your dick away?"

But Luke didn't seem to snap out of whatever mood he was in. "Move!" Luke barked.

"Not until you chill out," Jordan said calmly.

Luke's face went blank, "You're in on it, too," he said, staring directly at Jordan.

"Luke! Chill the fuck out," Sadie snapped.

Luke's head flew toward Sadie, blinking at her. "Sadie, I'm so sorry," he said as his body became engulfed in flames once more. "But you need to move. Right now!"

Jordan looked back at Sadie and Marie. "Sadie, Marie. Go! Now!" they shouted as Luke launched at Jordan. Jordan grunted as the punched landed square in their chest, transforming quickly as they turned back to the girls behind them. "Go!" they yelled, even louder this time. Marie took a deep breath before sprinting off in the opposite direction. "Sadie!" they repeated as they uses their powers to push Luke back. "Go!"

Sadie shook her head, feeling her finger tips heat up. "No, no!" she said loudly, stepping next to them as Luke got ready for his next attack. "Jordan, I'm not leaving."

"You're gonna hurt-" they started, but they were silenced by another flaming punch to their stomach.

"I don't give a shit if I hurt myself," Sadie insisted, feeling a small spark on the end of her finger. She glanced down at the blue flame that escaped from it. "I'm not gonna leave. I'm not gonna leave you," she repeated. Jordan groaned, taking another punch as they tried to step in front of Sadie once more. They stumbled to the ground, doubling over in pain. "Hey, Luke!" Sadie shouted, getting him to turn his attention away from Jordan.

Luke tutted as Sadie looked at him, her right palm filled with a large, blue flame. "Oh Sadie," he said, shaking his head slightly. "You know fire on fire never works. And you also know you can't beat me."

"Yeah, but I can certainly fucking try," Sadie yelled, launching her flame in Luke's direction. Luke met her flame with a flame of his own, the two powers collided in middle of the hallway, creating a large purple explosion.

Sadie stumbled backwards, the forced of the explosion sending her flying backwards into the lockers. She back slammed against the metal as she crumbled to the ground, a patch of blood trickling down from a large gash in her forehead. Sadie blinked, stumbling back to her feet as Jordan and Luke began to fight once more. Jordan lunged at Luke, punching the boy square in his dick. Luke groaned, using his powers to send Jordan flying into a large glass panel.

"Luke!" Sadie yelled. "Luke, stop," she said, his eyes snapped towards the girl once more. "You don't wanna do that."

"No, but you're twisting my fucking hand," Luke said, sending a large red flame in her direction. Sadie rolled out of the way, countering his attack with a flame of her own. Blue met red once more as the two blasts cancelled each other out. Sadie jumped to her feet, sending a blue flame towards Luke's back. The boy doubled over at he fell to the ground, allowing Jordan enough time to get to their feet and rejoined the fight.

The three had now spilled out onto the center of the crimefighting building. Onlookers watched in horror as Luke whipped around to face the two juniors. "Luke," Jordan panted, eyes wide as Luke began to advance on the two of them once more. "Luke, it's gonna be okay. Calm down."

But Luke wasn't listening to them. He shot a huge flame in their direction. Jordan transformed once more and used their energy pulse to shoot the flame back. Sadie used this opportunity to shoot her blue flame at Luke, but that just made the boy in front of them even angrier. He used the combine energy of his and Sadie's flame to launch the girl into a stone pillar, throwing her against the opposite wall.

Sadie felt her breath get knocked out of her as she hit the floor with a thud. "God, fuck," she whimpered as she felt another trail of blood leak out of the side of her face. She touched her hand to her cheek as she struggled to climb to her feet. She placed her hand on the ground, smearing her own blood on the floor as she staggered to her feet. Sadie's hands were shaky as she whirled around, trying to find where Jordan and Luke had ran off.

Jordan tried to throw another energy pulse at Luke. But Luke blocked it, pinning Jordan to the wall. Luke wrapped his hand around their neck, lifting Jordan up in the air, choking them. Jordan began to gasp, struggling for air as Luke lifted them higher and higher up in the air. Luke met Jordan's eyes, paused for a second and relinquished his grasp on their throat. Jordan crumbled to the ground. Sadie's eyes widened as she finally found them. She looked to Luke, and then to Jordan, who was still on the ground, an ounce of regret flashed across Luke's face.

"Don't follow me," he whispered as he sprinted out of the door to the crimefighting building.

Sadie let out a shaky breath, looking at all of the people around her. She let out a sling of curse words under her breath as she ran over to Jordan. They were barely conscious. "Jordan, Jordan," Sadie whispered, tapping them on the shoulder. She placed her fingers to their neck. "Okay, okay," she whispered to herself. "At least there's a fucking pulse."

"Jordan," she repeated, shaking their shoulder even harder this time. "Jordan. Jordan, you asshole, wake up," Sadie said, hitting them in the chest.

"God, ow," Jordan mumbled, their eyes flying open as Sadie fist connected with their upper shoulder once more. "Stop fucking hitting me," they leaned against the pillar as Sadie breathed a sigh of relief.

"Sorry, sorry," Sadie mumbled. "I didn't know what else to do."

"Maybe, don't hit me, for starters," Jordan retorted glancing around the room. "Where'd Luke go?" they asked.

Sadie looked toward the door. "Outside, but Jordan, he told me not to follow him," she whispered, knowing that the people around them would be listening.

Jordan's brows pulled together. "Why?" they asked.

"I don't- I don't," Sadie started but she was cut off by a large boom sound, followed by screaming from outside.

Sadie darted to her feet, pulling Jordan up with her before she dashed out the door. She felt a few drops of blood fall onto her hand as she looked to the ground. It was coated in blood, guts, and brain matter. Sadie felt her breath hitch as her eyes began to well up with tears. "Luke?" she asked in a shaky voice. But she already knew what had happened before she said the words out loud. He was gone.

Luke Riordan was gone.

I don't wanna miss,
like the other girls do

grace talks ig: Y'all why am I tearing up right now. Like why are there tears falling from my eyes. That's actually crazyyyyyyy. Anyways this is probably the only episode I'll end up splitting into two chapters because the rest of them are hella short (amazon prime better give us hour long episodes next season or else) Also splitting episodes up into multiple chapters makes me mad because then I have to find a good place to divide it and that is so much work you guys and I don't wanna deal with that. I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter because i had a lot of fun writing it, until the end bit with Luke because that made me sad. But Marie, Sadie, and Jordan moments? They eat, and I'm so fucking excited to write more of them ehhehehheh. Okay i'M gonna go because I've been staring at this computer screen for way too long. Sorry if there's typos but not really because I don't really feel like fixing them right now. BYEEEEEE.

ALSO I changed the color of Sadie's fire powers because I didn't want her to be a knock-off of Golden Boy because she's NOT and she SLAYS. TRUST. okay bye fr now.
