sleeping on your front porch again dreaming,
she said, she said, she said "why don't you just drop dead?"

'And what the fuck do you mean you're not in the orientation video?' Ana Harley barked down the receiver at her only daughter, Sadie.
Sadie rolled her eyes as she stepped onto the great lawn of Godolkin University. She felt a small breeze run through her auburn air as she looked glanced around the entrance to campus, aka her home for the past two years. "I don't know mom, it doesn't really matter," she mumbled, trying to balance her phone on the bridge of shoulder.
Sadie heard her mom scoff on the other line. 'I'm not paying thousands of dollars in bills just for you to be left out of one of the most important videos on campus.'
Sadie stopped, digging her heel into the dirt below her. "Actually, mother, you don't pay any of the bills. I do," she said through gritted teeth. "In addition to the bills that keep your house running. I don't care about the orientation video, and neither should you," she asserted.
There was a few beats of silence, and Sadie thought she might have been safe from her mother's wraith. That was until she heard her mother's shrill voice shatter her ear drum. 'YOU WILL NOT FUCKING TALK TO ME LIKE THAT YOU BRAT. THE MINUTE YOU STEP FOOT IN MY HOUSE, I WILL RIP YOUR HAI-'
Sadie hung up the phone as fast as she could, stuffing the small device into the pocket of her large teddy coat. She never ended up picking up her mother's calls when she was at school, she was far too busy trying to keep her rank in the top 10. But she thought maybe, just maybe, Ana had changed over the summer. But, unsurprisingly, she was wrong about that one too. Sadie shrugged, determined to not let her mother ruin the first day of her junior year.
The red-head pulled her bag over her shoulder once more as she continued down the great lawn, stopping in front of one of the large monitors were posted at every intersection. A light background music flowed from the speaker as the God U crest flashed across the screen. Sadie narrowed her eyes as the scene in front of her changed to the interior of one of the many lecture halls on campus.
'I'm super focused.'
'I'm super inclusive' said Jordan Li as they flashed across the screen.
'I'm super curious'
'I'm super abled.'
'What kind of super are you?' Sadie watched as Dean Shetty appeared on the screen, smiling from the large chair in her office. 'I'm Dean Indira Shetty. Welcome to Godolkin University. We've trained the best and brightest young heroes since 1965. But more than that, we're a family.'
Sadie continued to hear Dean Shetty's voice as different views of campus began to flash across the screen in front of her. 'A community of supportive faculty and peers who will accept you as the unique, culturally rich change agent that you are. You'll begin with challenging but meaningful core cirriculum such as Hero Ethics and Understanding Branding. After that, you'll declare your major. Perhaps you'll join the Crimson Countess School for the Performing Arts. Alumni includes stars from such shows as Riverdale, Pretty Little Liars, and So You Think You've Got Super Talent?'
A few images of the Performing Arts Center flashed across the screen, showing smiling students and other large rooms full of different 'actors'. Dean Shetty walked through the middle of the screen, beginning to speak once more. 'Or maybe you'll be accepted into the Lamplighter School of Crimefighting, which has produced every top ten ranked student for the past years, who have all gone on to protect America's greatest cities. Maybe you'll make the top ten, too.'
The girl's eyes narrowed as she saw three images pop up behind Dean Shetty. Luke Riordian, Jordan Li, and herself, with their names and respective ranks under their face cards. Sadie stared that the small number 3 next to her name. "I guess I was in the orientation video after all," she whispered under her breath. "Take that, mom."
'So whether you want to walk the mean streets, or the red carpet. Godolkin is a safe space for you to thrive,' Dean Shetty finished.
'We're super excited to meet you,' Luke spoke, his eyes flashing as his whole body burst into flames. Sadie couldn't help but smile as the screen went blank, flashing the God U crest once more.
"Not bad," she said under her breath. "Luke looks good," she added to herself, turning her head away from the monitor and back out onto the lawn. Sadie glanced down at her watch and cursed her under breath. She had less than thirty minutes to drop her stuff off in her dorm room and get down to the stadium for combat training.
"Yo Sadie!" Someone called from the other side of the lawn. "Finally time you showed up on campus!" Sadie looked over her shoulder at the one and only Jordan Li, ranked #2 out of all of the students Godolkin.
Sadie smiled, "Oh, there's my little shining star," she said sarcastically, flashing Jordan a toothy grin as they walked over to her.
Jordan furrowed their brows, "The fuck?" they asked.
"The orientation video, dumbass," Sadie deadpanned, pointing her thumb towards the monitor behind
Jordan groaned, "Shut up, you're not funny," they insisted. "You know the only reason they put me in that shit is so they could up their diversity points," they pointed out. "I think they really sold it with the 'really inclusive' line," they finished sarcastically, rolling their eyes at the monitor, which started to play the video once more.
Sadie shrugged, "At least you looked good, shoulder length hair suits you," she continued, pointing to the short bob the fell right above their shoulders.
Jordan tried to ignore the smile tugging at the corner of their lips. "Thanks," they said slowly.
Sadie nodded, "Don't mention it," she replied quickly, readjusting the bag on her shoulder. "You're coming to the combat training right? I'm definitely gonna be fucking late, but at least I'm going," she reasoned.
Jordan shook their head. "No, I have some work to do for Brink, you know, sorting through all the applications for Crimefighting 101."
Sadie mouth fell open, hitting Jordan in the side of their arm. "Oh shit, I totally forgot that your Brink's T.A. now. Damn, look at you, moving up in the world. I'm proud. You got better things to do now than hang out with us. You're going to forget all about us while your busy in Brink's office, moving on to bigger and better things," Sadie said, dramatically wrapping her arm around Jordan's shoulder.
Jordan scoffed, brushing Sadie's arm off their shoulder. "Shut up, you know that's not true."
"Yeah, but it's still fun to say," Sadie giggled.
"Ha, ha," Jordan said dryly. "I'm glad you find my suffering funny," they said sarcastically. "But I have to go now, and so you do. Unless you want Golden Boy to kick your ass for being late," they added with a small smirk.
"Touché," Sadie said coolly. "See you later," she said, sending Jordan a small wink as they turned to leave.
Jordan shook their head. "See you later, Sadie," they called before continuing their walk across the great lawn. "Also, clubbing with the group tomorrow, you'll be there."
"You're not even gonna give me an option?" Sadie retorted.
"No!" Jordan shouted. "You're coming! It'll be fun! Trust me!" they added as their voice began to fade.
Sadie smiled to herself as she continued her way to her dorm room. They got the pleasure of living alone this year, thank god. If she had to deal with another awkward roommate situation like last year, she would lose it. Living with people was never really Sadie's forte, ever since the accident with her father. Sadie shook her head.
'No, no, no!' she thought to herself. 'Fuck no. I'm not gonna let that shit ruin my day.' She continued to march across the lawn at a speed that shocked even herself. 'Not on my first fucking day back. My first god damn day,' she continued as she swiped her key card to enter the dorm building. Sadie could feel her finger tips heat up but she ignored it as she strode down the hallway to her room.
She swung the door open and threw her bag across the floor, not caring about the noise she made. Sadie took a deep breath and sprinted over to her sink, splashing herself with water. She blinked as she looked into the mirror, the burning sensation in her finger had disappeared. "Thank fucking god," she whispered.
Sadie took a few steps back, serving the room quickly before she backed out of it. She had no idea how long it would take to get to Godolkin Stadium, and there was no way in hell that she was going to sprint there. That would be fucking embarrassing. So she took the fifteen minute walk across campus as fast as she could.
She could hear a loud, rumbling noise and Sadie knew that she was close. Sadie slipped through the student entrance and glanced up at the section. Freshmen, of course, everyone wanted to come to watch Golden Boy's first match of the year. Sadie didn't blame them, she would probably to the same thing if she wasn't actually friends with Luke.
Sadie stepped out onto the field as she was immediately greeted with a familiar voice. "Sadie! Sadie! Sadie, my girl!" Andre Anderson shouted as soon as he stopped the red-head stepping out onto the combat stage. "You're coming to the thing tomorrow night, right?" he said, patting the seat next to him as the pair sat down to watch their friend fight. "If you're not I'll fucking kill you, or at least get Golden Boy to do it, am I right? Am I right? I'm right," he said, not waiting for Luke to answer.
Sadie nodded, "Yeah I'm coming, Jordan told me about it," she responded quickly.
"Course they did," Andre said, laughing a little as he shook his head.
Sadie clicked her tongue, narrowing her eyes as Luke and The Incredible Steve faced each other. "And what exactly do you mean by that?" she asked.
"Nothing, nothing," Andre said nonchalantly, crossing his arms over his chest.
Sadie scoffed, "Andre, come on, you're a shit liar," she stated, her eyes focusing on Luke and Steve, who had begun their fight. She blinked as Luke's body turned burst into flames. Luke charged at his opponent as Sadie awaited Andre's answer.
"It's nothing," Andre repeated, even though his words were less convincing the second time around.
"Fine," Sadie said stubbornly. "I'll stop." Her eyes skimmed the training field as Luke and Steve continued to fight, allowing Steve wasn't fairing well against Luke's attacks. She glanced over at Andre. "How much do you have on him this time?" she asked, nodding towards Luke.
Andre clicked his tongue before responding, "Ten grand."
"Damn," Sadie said slowly. "Impressive, whatcha gonna spend ten grand on?" she asked.
"Sadie, girl, it's ten grand, the world is my oyster. What am I not gonna spend it on?" Andre retorted. "I can get some of the good stuff for tomorrow."
Sadie lightly slapped him on the shoulder. "Shit, are you serious?" she asked.
"Course, this is our year," Andre replied as Luke delivered his final blow on the Incredible Steve, ripping his arms off of his body.
"This is our fucking year," Sadie repeated.

"Sadie!!!!!" Cate squealed, spotting the girl as she made her way over to the car outside of the crimefighting building. It was the next night is Sadie was slated to meet up with Andre, Jordan, Luke, and their other friend, and Luke's girlfriend, Cate Dunlap. "Oh my god. You're stunning!" she expressed, looking at the tight teal dress hugged her frame.
"Says you!" Sadie replied, pulling the blonde girl into a tight hug. "Ugh, I can't believe I haven't seen you for three months. And Luke!" she added, smiling at him as soon as she let go of Cate. "Nice to see you too."
Luke gave the girl a warm smile, pulling her into a quick side hug. "Sadie! It's been too long," he said.
"Too fucking long," Sadie repeated, her eyes scanning the dark area. "This everyone?" she asked casually.
Andre shook his head. "Nah, we're waiting on one mor- oh shit," he said quickly, pointing into the distance. "I think she's here. Oh told you!" he said, pulling the cigarette out of his mouth. "This is Marie," he said, gesturing to the girl that walked up to them. She had her coiled hair pulled back into two long ponytails with a tight jacket over her silver outfit. "She's the one that I was telling you guys about."
Luke smiled, walking up to the new girl. "Hey. I'm Luke," he said, extending his hand for her to shake it. "Uh, this is Cate and Sadie," he said, nodding at the two girls behind him.
"I know who you are," Marie said, laughing awkwardly. "I know every..." her voiced trailed off a bit as she continued to stare at the group in front of her. "Nice to meet you," she finished weakly.
"Uh, that's Jordan," Andre said.
Sadie swore she heard Jordan scoff, "Yeah, we've met," they said shortly.
"You gonna reject me from this outing, too?" Marie snarled.
"I'd love to," Jordan retorted.
"Drama," Sadie sang under her breath, causing Jordan to roll their eyes.
Andre shook his head, "No, play nice," he warned Jordan, patting them on their back. "Or I will not share my drugs with you. Uh, come on. We'll take my car," he decided, strutting over to the yellow sports car a few yards away from them.
Sadie lingering back, quickly catching Jordan's eye. "What was that about?" Sadie asked, looking between Marie and them, who had their quaffed hair slicked back with some hair gel. They had changed from yesterday, but Sadie didn't really care. Whatever they felt more comfortable in worked for her.
Jordan sighed, "I'll tell you later," they replied.
Sadie nodding knowingly. "Gotcha," she responded, climbing into the back of Andre's car.

The first place the group ended up was the top of Seven Tour. Luke, Sadie, Cate, Jordan, and Andre were passing around a small card with a few lines of cocaine on it. "God damn," Sadie said as she snorted her second line of the night. "You weren't lying Andre, you did put that ten grand to good use," she commented.
"Oy!" Jordan shouted as they did their line.
Andre nodded, sniffling slightly. "Fucking drip baby!" he exclaimed, passing the card to Cate. "Shit, one more," he groaned, taking the card back from the girl once she had done her line.
"So, what's up with that Marie chick?" Sadie asked, looking over at the girl, who had just started up a conversation with Luke.
"Freshman," Jordan said simply. "She practically begged me to let her into Brink's class yesterday."
Sadie raised an eyebrow at them, scanning them up and down. "And you didn't let her in?" she asked.
Jordan shook their head. "Why should I?" they replied. "She has no social media presence, no followers. I couldn't find anything on her, nothing," they listed.
"She's got these sick blood powers though," Andre chimed in.
"Blood powers?" Cate asked, blinking from the wind that was hitting their faces.
"Like ropes or some shit. She stopped this skinny guy from fucking blasting through us last night. You guys should have seen it, it was insane," Andre finished.
"Hmmmm," Sadie sounded, letting the reverb from her vocal coords echo throughout the night sky. "Maybe she would've been a good fit for Brink's class after all," she said, looking over at Jordan, who looked less than pleased with this affirmation.
Jordan clicked their tongue, "Yeah, well, I guess we'll never know huh," they said as Luke and Marie rejoined the group.
"You guys ready to go to the club!" Luke said, wrapping his right arm around Cate's shoulder, a half-empty whiskey bottle hanging from his left hand.
"The club?" Marie asked.
"You're gonna love it, trust me," Cate said, reassuring the younger girl.
Sadie wasn't sure if it was the cocaine, the whiskey, or the combination of both of them, but she didn't remember the drive to the club. In fact, the next thing she remembered was leaning her head on Jordan's shoulder as they waited for Cate to work her magic and let them into the club. "Good evening," the maître d' said as Sadie straightened herself up. "Reservation under?"
"We don't have one," Cate said, slipping her gloves off her hands. She leaned towards, touching her bare fingertips to the maître d'. "But you don't give a fuck. Right?"
"I do not give a fuck," the maître d' repeated. "Follow me." The group followed him to a small, more private booth towards the back of the large room. Sadie took her seat next to Jordan, who smiled at her.
Andre reached into her coat pocket and pull out another small bag of drugs. "You guys in?" he asked, surveying the group carefully.
"Is that cocaine?" Marie asked.
"We finished all the coke," Jordan said, taking the bag from Andre's hand and sticking their finger into it. They touched their finger to their tongue before responding. "It's Molly."
Marie opened and closed her mouth quickly. "Hey, I don't really fuck with powders," he told her. "But I do micro dose shrooms," he continued, pulling a small bag of psychedelics from his suit jacket.
Jordan raised their eyebrow at Marie. "So, what do you say, freshman?"
"Um," Marie started slowly. "No, thank you."
Cate gave the girl a small smile. "You know, I could just take my glove off and make you," she said. "I won't, 'cause I'm all about consent. But I could, so... you should."
Marie chuckled slightly as Andre extended the bag towards her. She licked her finger and looked at Andre, moving her finger towards the bag, looking for confirmation that what she was doing was right.
"Uh huh," Andre sounded, giving the girl a short nod.
Marie bit her lip before sticking her finger into the bag. She looked at the powder on her finger and in one, swift motion touched her finger to her tongue.
"Aw, yes! Yes!" Cate cheered.
"Yes, bitch!" Sadie added. "Ah! I'm so proud of you!" she said, reaching over the table to shake Marie's shoulders slightly.
Cate giggled, "Now let's dance!" she said, grabbing Marie's hand.
"What?" Marie asked.
"Come on! Sadie, you too!" Cate added as she dragged Marie to her feet.
"Obviously, later losers," Sadie said, winking at Luke, Jordan, and Andre as she went to follow the pair.
The three girls walked out into the middle of the dance floor. Sadie was already high off of the cocaine she did earlier, and the molly was the cherry on top. She felt like she was floating above the clouds as the three of them moved in time with the music. Sadie had no idea what song was playing but she loved it.
Marie eyes widened slightly after about the third song. "Oh shit," Cate said, grinning from ear to ear. "Someone's rolling," she teased.
"She's fucking blasted, dude," Sadie said through a fit of giggles.
Marie started to get more into the music. "I think, yeah, definitely," she decided, nodding her head up and down as they continued dancing. Just before the beat was about to drop, Sadie heard a loud gasp, and scream from the opposite side of the room. The music stopped so abruptly that the red-head almost feel over. Sadie felt Cate push her forward to whatever scene was going down.
Sadie covered her mouth with her hand as she stared at the girl on the floor. A large stream of blood was trickling from her neck, leaving a sticky crimson mess on the tiles below her. Andre stood with his hand on her wound, his face covered in blood splatters. "Oh my god!" Cate breathed, Sadie could barely hear her over the sound of her own heartbeat.
"What the hell happened?" Jordan asked, appearing at Andre's side.
"Uh, I think I hit an artery, dude!" Andre said in a panicked voice, trying to stop the bleeding with his hand. "Aw, fuck. Some fuck bumped into me," he muttered.
Jordan's eyes widened, "I think she's gonna die, man."
"She bleeding out," Andre stated.
"We need to call 911!" Cate insisted.
"They won't get here in time," Andre said with the shake of his head.
Cate swore under her breath. "We need to go!" she decided.
"We need to get the fuck out of here," Jordan whispered in Andre's ear. "We need to get the fuck out of here now. We need to get the fuck out of here now. Come on," they finished, pulling Andre to his feet.
Sadie watched in horror as Jordan and Andre fled the scene. She didn't have any time to think before Cate grabbed her hand and dragged her out with the rest of the group.
"Holy shit Andre," Sadie hissed, finally coming to her senses as she and Cate pushed their way to the exit of the club. "You fucking killed that girl!"
"You think I don't know that Sadie?" Andre asked. "I fucking know."
Jordan huffed, "Well what the hell are we going to do about it?" they asked.
"And where is that girl, Marie?" Cate asked. "Did she follow us out?"
Sadie glanced behind her, but there was no sign of freshman. "Doesn't look like it," she answered.
"Shit, shit," Andre cursed. "I fucked up."
"Yeah, dude, obviously!" Luke retorted.
"Okay, okay, let's fucking be level-headed about this shit," Sadie snapped. "How the hell do we fix this?"
Andre took a deep breath, shaking his head slowly. "I don't know. And I don't think we can," he said honestly.
I don't wanna miss,

grace talks ig: Guys I think this is the most I've ever sworn in a book ever, which feels a little unnatural, but oh well. Hhehehehehheeh I actually had a lot of fun writing this. I can't wait to write the second half of the first episode because that's when shit gets real (and very sad for Sadie but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it). I also can't wait to get into Sadie's backstory because it's gonna be a doozy and I'm warning y'all that you're not ready for it! Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the first chapter of endgame and I'll see you next sunday (bc that's when I've decided I'm gonna update this story). Vote/ comment and do all those fun things if you want to!! BYEEEEE MY LOVES
