i'm riding down the road
with my lips pursed
a smoothie in my lap
the sunset casts an orange glow
on the black dash of my car
i fell hard this morning
ive got a busted up chin
and a bruised ego
im missing home like a bitch
ive noticed as i get older
that i fall much more often
than most people i know
sometimes in private
sometimes in front of
everyone in a parking lot
i never stay on the ground though
i don't beg for help
i accept it if it comes but
i don't act like it was anything
if it hurts ill scream out
but only for a second until it's gone
and then i get up and laugh about it
what a silly mistake

but i drink my smoothie
and go on more walks
and i call him and my home
like it's my last hope
