Chapter 6 BTS (3rd person)
After taking quick showers to rinse the sweat from their bodies the boys each change into something clean before their security team leads them off to the green room. None of them have voiced it but they have all realized something felt different the minute they touched down at O'hare International Airport. While they didn't speak of it they each would glance at each other periodically with a look of hope and wonder on their face.
Their security team was blocking the girls in line from their sight, but they each felt a tingle slide up their spines and the sensation seemed to reaffirm that their plan was working. They would be united with her tonight. One of them in this line was their soulmate.
The interviews seemed to drag even though Jimin was able to dismiss each one rather quickly. A few had inked something onto their skin with a ballpoint pen. Others were crazy enough to get an actual tattoo. None of them were able to provide anything additional to prove their claim. Jimin was beginning to wonder if the sensations he had been feeling were wrong, or if he had misread them. He worried that she wasn't lined up outside their door after all. That doubt was especially enhanced when Manager Sejin peeked his head through the door door and told them that the next one was the last in the lineup.
The minute she entered the room all of them froze. They took in her peach freckle dusted cheeks, her long flowing wavy auburn hair, and her pale eyes that they couldn't quite decipher the color of.
"Um..hi." She bit her plush bottom lip and a groan escaped from a few of them at the sight. "Sorry, I'm a bit nervous." She wrapped her arms around herself as if the hoodie she was wearing wasn't keeping her warm.
"It's okay." Namjoon indicated a seat in the center of the room directly opposite Jimin. "Why don't you introduce yourself and tell us why you are here? Why do you think that you are Jimin's soulmate?"
"Oh, where to begin? First of all, my name is Daisy Keegan." The whole room collectively takes a deep breath, and she pauses before continuing. "I'm probably going to drag this out but it's truly easier to give you some background story first. You see growing up I was a hopeful romantic. I grew up dreaming of my prince, my soulmate. I dreamed with excited anticipation of the day that I would be able to get the serum injected into my bloodstream, and I often wondered where the mark would end up on my body, of what it would be."
The whole room was able to sense the way her emotions began to change. They weren't sad per se, more like a melancholic tainted nostalgia. "My parents weren't rich and donated part of their time and money to people that were in need more than us, but still when I turned thirteen they began to put back a little money from each of their paychecks with the plan to be able to pay for my injection on my 18th birthday."
She licks her lips and takes a breath. Now she was practically drowning in sadness and seemed to be barely able to keep the tears from filling her eyes. "A few months prior to my birthday they were in an accident that took their lives. The funds they had saved ended up going to funeral expenses and mortgage payments they were behind on. I didn't have any family left so I was put in a foster home. But, from the moment I graduated high school and was on my own I have been working two jobs and earning the money bit by bit to be able to pay for the serum on my own. It took me five years to save up the money. I went to a clinic and had the injection about two months ago."
The timeline seemed to line up perfectly with what happened on their own end the night they got their own marks. "I went back to the clinic and had them print this off." She pulls a piece of paper from her purse. Namjoon is immediately able to tell that it's a form supporting her claim.
She starts tugging off her hoodie. When it drops off behind her she rearranges her hair so it slides down her right shoulder. "I noticed this just after I channeled somnium venereum." She turns over her arm to show us the inside of it where 'Serendipity' is clearly written.
Jimin wants to dive at her. To touch her and confirm that she's real, but he fights it and keeps himself in place. All of them are nearly convinced with just that solitary mark, but Namjoon still has to make sure. "Is there anything else you can tell us?"
"No, but I can show you." She turns around the room and her eyes land on Jungkook. She smiles at him invitingly. "Come here, Jungkook. Please?"
The maknae smiles shyly and comes closer to her. She stands up and brushes her hair back from her shoulder. "I can't exactly show more than this. But, hopefully what little you can see will make sense to you."
Jungkook scans his eyes over the word he can only make the beginning of peeking out from the side of her shirt. The letters visible being Eup, but he knows that the rest hidden by the fabric will say 'Euphoria.' The others crowd in to see. Even Yoongi and Jin come closer, even though they have been doing their best to keep their distance.
She turns her eyes to Hoseok. Smiles at him widely which he immediately mimics. She reaches down and lifts up her right pant leg where he finds "Just Dance" written.
Then her eyes turn on Jin. "Jin, come here please?" He shyly comes forward. He arches an eyebrow when she pulls her shoe off her foot and follows with her sock. But, tears flood his eyes when he sees 'Epiphany' curving around the outside edge of the top of her foot."
She looks at Namjoon. Stands up and turns her back, lifting her hair from her left shoulder where he can see the beginning of 'Reflection' peeking from her top.
Then she glances at Yoongi and Taehyung with a slight frown on her face. "I promise you two that your marks are there. But, it would be difficult to show you because of their placement." She focuses on Yoongi first. "Your mark is 'First Love' and it's located on my upper abdomen and curves across my ribs." Then she turns to Tae. "Your mark runs down my spine and it is '4 o'clock.'"
Namjoon jumps up from his seat. "I should probably go grab our manager. We need to correlate with them to see what happens next."
Daisy reaches out and grabs his arm to stop them. "Before you do I think I need to admit a couple things first. I'm not sure how you will respond but I hope you will at least understand why I did it." To say that comment worries them is an understatement. But, they each find a seat and resolve to listen to her patiently.
"The easier thing to admit that you might find unbelievable is that before two months ago I wasn't Army. I, of course, knew of your existence and heard at least 'Boy with Luv' on the radio a few times. But, I didn't really know of you. It took my friend, Candace, to connect the dots on what each mark meant and who they belonged to. After that of course we started researching the next time you may be in Chicago, but of course this show and the one tomorrow were already sold out." She frowns, and seems to deflate.
They all can tell how hard the next part is for her to say so Jin breaks the tension by asking. "You truly didn't know us? How could you not know this face? I'm 'worldwide handsome' after all." A chorus of groans fill the room but the comment has the desired effect. Daisy chuckles lightly, her smile growing back on her face.
She waits a moment for her giggles to subside before becoming more focused and serious once again. "I didn't know how I was going to get into the concert. I needed a guarantee that I could get in. I wanted to be united with the seven pieces of my heart and soul so I sort of had to do something drastic. I'm glad I had Candace there to be able to help me out because it turns out that she used to date Brighton Davis."
"The radio show host?" Namjoon interjects by asking, pausing to think for a moment before continuing. "I believe we have a syndicated interview scheduled with him the day after tomorrow."
"Yes, you do. He supplied me with the front row tickets and this badge, but for him I had to promise something in return." She once again pulls another paper from her bag. "This is a copy of the written statement regarding exactly what I promised, but I would rather tell you all first before you read it. He asked me if in addition to the questions he already planned that he could also interview us altogether. Ask about me most specifically, I imagine, and our future together. I told him that I couldn't guarantee that. But, I did promise to bring it up and ask. If you read that statement you will see that we both signed and agreed to it. He even added a clause stating that if all of you didn't think it was a good idea, or if Big Hit were against it, that he wouldn't even bring up that he knew we had met."
They all looked at each other and nodded. "We aren't mad that you did this. How could we be? But, I really do have to go see our managers now. I have a lot to discuss with them."
She nods and hands him a business card, explaining that Brighton gave it to her in case they had any questions. "Do you think it would be okay if I went out to talk to Candace really quick? She said she would stay in her seat and wait for me."
The others all smile. "We'll do better." Jimin places his hand in hers and pulls her out of the seat and doesn't let go. Tae grabs her other hand and smirks at the growing annoyance on the others faces. "Let's meet Candace."
Adding these images just because didn't get to see a picture of each of them by themselves. These happen to be two of my favorite images of Taehyung and Yoongi. Although Taehyung's is because it is my second favorite look of his. I really like his look black curly locks that he has had since the MMAs.
The copyright for these images belongs solely to the photographer that took them.
One line added on 2/14/20. I missed a fact and had to correct it.
