Chapter 36

The next two days didn't pass like anyone was expecting them to. True, they were busy days, having to be out of the house by nine so we could show up at the venue by eleven, so they could immediately start practicing choreography and doing mic checks. Then, we were stuck at the venue until about nine-thirty pm, which meant we didn't get home until between eleven-thirty and midnight. By that point everyone was exhausted and ready for bed.

I had to assume that whatever Joon had considered to present me to the public fell through. I should have asked, and I did plan on doing so sometime today. It was way too early for the others to be up as of yet, but per normal my internal clock was waking me up at seven in morning, still later than I used to wake up though.

I got up and took a long lengthy shower, since I knew I wouldn't have to worry about Hobi waiting to get in it for a few hours yet. While the water was trickling over my body I attempted to daydream about things we could do this week together. The problem was I kept coming up with the same mental roadblock. Being in public was going to be a huge obstacle, and it worried me that I wouldn't be able to have a true vacation with them.

Once I finished getting ready for the day I deemed I had dawdled upstairs too long already. I went downstairs and was pleasantly surprised to find that I wouldn't be alone after all. He hadn't responded like he heard me yet so I tiptoed behind him and wrapped my arms around his middle.

"You're lucky I heard you approaching. Hasn't anyone ever taught you it's dangerous to sneak up on someone when they have a sharp object in their hands?" Yoongi indicated the knife he was using. He put it down though and turned in my arms so he could properly return the embrace. "Good morning." He leaves a light peck on my cheek, and somehow even that small gesture has us both blushing in response.

"I'm surprised you are up so early." I respond.

"I may sleep a lot, but I am often also the first to wake up."

I make a hmm noise in response. "Does that make you a bear?"

"A bear?" He adorably scrunches his nose in confusion, and I can't resist pecking it in response. It's just too cute to resist.

"Yes, you sleep a lot. Hibernation. But you are also the comfiest to cuddle with. Like a teddy bear." I grin up at him, and his gummy smile plays with his lips before he fights to keep it from fully alighting his face.

"Army often compares me to a cat or kitten. I think I like that you are making a different comparison. So, I will graciously allow you to call me bear. But, don't do it in front of the others please." I'm about to cross my heart and promise that I will do my best not to do so. But, apparently he has a better idea on how to seal the promise. Before I know it he has placed me on the counter, a foot away from the cutting board, and is parting my legs to settle himself in the vacant space it provides. He cups my chin and cheek, pulling me down to meet him. His lips are unhurried yet hungry as they softly graze against my own. He nibbles at the plump flesh of my lower lip, asking for permission to deepen our kisses when we hear a throat clearing behind him.

"I know things tend to get hot in the kitchen. But usually that's in reference to food." I giggle in a mixture of embarrassment and humor at the silly joke. I look up into Joon's eyes, determining what he is feeling at that moment. He was one of the ones that claimed he wasn't sure how he would respond to seeing me kiss one of the others. I'm pleased that I don't see a shred of jealousy evident in his eyes. I know that doesn't mean he isn't feeling it, but at the very least he is doing his best to keep the green-eyed monster at bay.

Yoongi steps away to continue working on breakfast. I frown for a moment and he smiles in response, letting me know that he is as equally as disappointed as I am. Then I turn to Joon as he pulls up to me and drags me off of the counter. "So, originally I was trying to get the managers to agree to a similar question and answer session like we did in New Jersey. Only this time bringing you out on stage. They weren't in agreement though. But, they did arrange a few things for us to do together, privately. That doesn't start until tomorrow however." He indicates the house. "Today we lay low here. The stylists are already heading back, later on tonight. This should make the public think that we are leaving ourselves, only on a private plane instead of commercial travel."

I somehow doubt that will work but I don't vocalize my concern. He nods though, obviously reading it from the expression on my face. "At the very least it will buy us some time."

I nod. Then I turn back to Yoongi to help him prepare breakfast. Looks like he was focusing on a fruit spread due to the heat. Which is definitely smart, but I decide to go a step further and make a breakfast salad with poached eggs and bacon crumbles to go with it. Like clockwork when it comes to cooking Jin wanders in to investigate what I am working on and insists on helping with the veggie preparation. I let him take over so I can start the water for the poached eggs. I decide to cook the bacon in the oven so I won't have to watch it as closely as I would have to if I were cooking it in a skillet. Plus, I can cook more at a time this way. Then I also realize that a bread component would be a smart addition so I also toast some english muffins.

Hobi, Jungkook, and Jimin all come down just as the food is being placed on the table. I notice that Tae isn't up yet so I volunteer to go and wake him up. I knock on his door and only hear sleepy grumbles in response. The door opens ever so slightly with the vibration of my knock. (I can only assume Jimin didn't close it tight behind him before coming down.) I can't keep myself from peeking through the gap created. Despite the heat Tae is apparently cocooned in a large blanket mass. Even though I probably shouldn't enter his room I find myself tip-toeing in. I crouch down in front of the side where his face is peeking out. He looks so adorably rumpled I have to bite back a giggle that wants to come out. I brush his hair off his forehead, and he leans into the warmth of my hand. I don't expect it when I am suddenly hefted from the spot I am crouching in and instead lying on his opposite side with him hovering above me. "Good morning, my angel."

There is a large lump in my throat so I know articulating a response isn't going to work right away. I take a moment to try to clear away the obstruction. "Um, morning Tae. Breakfast is ready."

I don't expect it. I probably should. But in a scant moment his body is pressed flush against me. We both groan at the evocative sensations that build up from the way our bodies are perfectly fitted together. I intend to dislodge myself but instead the upward movement of my hips has his morning erection pressing directly against my own heated excitement. We both groan outwardly at the sensation that friction causes. "Um. We really should get up." I mutter out in frustration.

His response is to fasten his lips against my own. His frantic kisses echoing the flexing of our hips. I whimper and fight myself to get away which causes a frown to appear on his sweet face. "Tae, I'm sorry. It's just...it's not the time for this." I fist my hands into the hair at the back of his neck to bring him back to me so I can kiss him lightly. I'm hoping this action shows him that I'm not upset with him, or that I don't want this.

He sighs and nods. "Okay. Sorry."

I turn his face to look directly at me. "Don't feel you have to be sorry. I like that you want me. I like that you have a hard time restraining your actions." I bite my lower lip. "I'm not ready now, but that doesn't mean I won't be in the near future. I want more time with each of you first, before we take that next step."

He nods in response. This time the hint of his wide smile growing on his face. "I'll be right down." I nod, and scoot myself out of his bed.

I'm probably as red as a tomato when I come back downstairs, but if that's the case then none of them comment on it. "We were just discussing what to do for supper tonight. I would personally really like to use that grill out there. What do you think of steaks?" Joon immediately fills me in on the discussion I had missed.

I look over to Yoongi and smirk. This idea has his name written all over it. "Steaks sound amazing. Are we sending someone out to get the ingredients we need?"

He nods in confirmation. I look at Jin and Yoongi and find them both nodding. "After we are done eating we should get together to discuss a menu." I knew that the nod preceding this statement was actually a confirmation to the request. But, I didn't want the others not understanding what we were up to.

Finally, Tae comes down, and I note that his hair is damp. Does that mean he took a cold shower? Or.. Yeah, I'm not going there... He immediately volunteers to be on kitchen cleanup duty as he takes his seat, and Jimin offers to help. I stealthily glance at him but apparently I'm not stealthy enough because he openly smiles that wide smile of his at me.

I'm sure my face flushes again, and I can see a curious look or two cross some of their faces. Luckily none of them articulate the thoughts that are quite obviously brewing in their heads.

Yoongi, Jin, and I sit at the table on the other side of the staircase, while the rest of them clear the dining room table. "We haven't had much in the way of Korean staples lately. I know the others have been craving some of the cuisine from home." Jin intervenes before we fully start planning.

I find myself nodding. "I'm not going to be too much help in that department. I haven't had much Korean food in the past, nor have I cooked any myself."

"We can keep that part of the meal simple. Just do ramen, kimchi, and rice. Oh and maybe Japchae, only vegetarian since we are having steak already." Yoongi quickly offered.

"What's Japchae?"

"It's made from sweet potatoes and celery noodles. It's stir fried with other vegetables in sesame oil." Jin patiently explains.

"Sounds good" I nod. "Do you think we could grill corn on the cob, and bell peppers also? I think I could make a corn relish of sorts from that and some black beans."

"I liked the chimichurri sauce for the empanadas the other day. I think we should put some on the steaks before grilling them." Jin contributes. I nod. I did get a chance to do some research, and leafy herbs do also have a similar nutrition value to leafy greens.

The other two agree and we continue discussing the menu. When we are done with our grocery list one of the managers comes over and takes it off our hands. I am sure to tell him about the grocery store I found since it catered to many cuisines.
