A Communication Problem
A/N: As usual, I would recommend putting the video on loop.
When (F/n) finished her apple, she half tempted to chuck the core into the pond as well. She decided against it, though, since she didn't want to get into the habit of just throwing things over the fence. Standing up, she headed back towards the backdoor but halted before actually entering the house. The garden in comparison to the interior of the home seemed like paradise. Still, she had to remind herself that the statue was gone.
Taking a step inside, she felt her hair stand slightly on end, but she pushed it aside. The odd atmosphere would dissipate soon enough, and she could just relax. She shut the backdoor behind her and locked it, while her stomach growled again. Well, she didn't expect that apple to fill her up entirely.
Going over to the kitchen, she went to get some more food until she saw the mess upon the floor. Various pens and markers were strewn across the ground, while the drawer that they belonged in was left open. Had the possessed statue caused this to happen? If so, she didn't understand why it would need to get into the pen and marker drawer.
The other option, however, wasn't a pleasant one. It would mean that she hadn't rid the house of the problem. In fact it could mean that the house itself was haunted and not just a mere object. That in itself was highly unsettling, and she wanted to hold onto the firm belief that she had eradicated the problem. She wished to be done with all the strange happenings in the house and unnerving atmosphere.
So, she pushed the negative thoughts aside and held onto the fact that she threw out the statue. The creepy dancing man was no longer a part of the house but was at the bottom of the pond. Holding onto that fact, she picked up the mess and put all of the items back into the drawer before closing it. Finished with that task, she went over to the refrigerator and took out some of the cheese. She also grabbed some crackers from one of the cupboards.
Picking out a simple glass plate from the dishware selection, (f/n) dumped some of the crackers onto the plate and placed slices of cheese onto them. Once completed with making her meal, she put the extra away. There was still quite a bit left of the two food items, though.
Grabbing her plate, she headed into the living room, plopped herself down on the couch and turned on the television. There wasn't too much on, and there were no murder mysteries on either. Above her, though, were the DVDs that Nathan owned. Frankly, she didn't feel like watching anything about antiques or a horror movie. After all she had just experienced her own supernatural tale, and once was enough for her.
Eventually, though, she found a documentary about penguins on and thought that it would be entertaining. Penguins were pretty cute in her opinion. Besides, seeing the birds waddle around and slide down hills of snow would distract her from what she just had to deal with.
Drem, on the other hand, was less than pleased. She hadn't even freaked out at the seeing the writing utensils spread across the kitchen floor. His little doe just simply put them away and was now casually watching a program. Honestly, she was feeling much too safe, since the statue was gone. Right now if he really wanted to, he could open one of the knife drawers and throw one at her. It would be so simple, yet there she was eating with no ounce of worry in her eyes. It would make the action less than satisfying.
Getting off the counter, he went over to her and crouched in front of her. Without any hesitation he blew up on the cracker and cheese that she was eating. The force pushed the food up, as it smacked her in the nose. A laugh escaped his lips, as he saw her eyes widen for a moment. They were only filled with surprise, though, not fear. Well, he would go a bit overboard with the next opportunity he had to mess with her, and it would do much more than startle her.

After the documentary ended, (f/n) washed the plate and put it away. With her stomach now full, she went on to get a shower. Yesterday, she never really had the chance to do so, since she was unconscious for most of it. Stepping into her room, she took out some new undergarments as well as pale green capris and a pale purple tank top. She removed the phone from her pocket and placed it on top of her bed.
Clothes in hand, she left her room and headed into the bathroom. Frankly, getting a shower in a house that had a haunted statue in it was somewhat worrying. At the same time, she didn't want to go two weeks without taking a shower. Just in case, she locked the bathroom door behind her. If there was still something in the house, a locked door wouldn't do much, but it was still something even if mostly ineffective.
She placed her clean clothes on the bathroom counter and removed her old ones. (F/n) tossed them into the hamper and went to head into the shower; however, she stopped only a moment later. Out of the corner of her eyes, she noticed something in the mirror. From her current angle, she could barely see it, but it looked like there was something on her back.
Backing up some, she turned her back to the mirror and peered over her left shoulder. In black marker the words having fun yet were scribed up along the skin over her spine. Could the possessed statue have left that there? That had to be the case, right; that's why the drawer was open. It was the only explanation; it had to be. Otherwise, her supernatural problem was still very much in the house with her.
At the thought a chill ran over her body, and her right fingers trailed the lettering and trembled in the process. No longer could she just keep herself somewhat controlled, for her mind kept going over the second possibility. After all the statue had made no move to stop her after she had picked it up. There was no unnatural chill about it; the cold remained in the surrounding atmosphere, and that vibe was still strong in the home. Putting those facts together, her mind seemed to break down somewhat and go into panic mode. In the next moment, a bloodcurdling scream left her lips and alerted Drem, who was standing just outside the door.
His ears perked up at the noise. "That's more like it," he voiced, as a grin pulled at the corners of his lips. Drem just waited for the door to burst open and for her to come running out. That beautiful noise accompanied by her form, dashing with fright, would be a spectacular sight. He brought his right thumb nail up to his lips and chewed on it in anticipation.
Counting the number of seconds, he halted on ten before the door slammed open. A plush towel covered his doe's form, as she darted for her room. He followed after her and saw her reach for the new phone. "That's not going to work, little doe," he chuckled out before blowing it away from her. Drem saw her jump at the phone's movement before she glanced around the room hurriedly.
Closing the distance between them, he ran his right middle and index finger up her spine. They trailed the words he left there, and he heard her squeak out in reply. She proceeded to harshly turn around, but in the process had lost her footing. Her legs gave out under her before she fell backwards onto her bed. His little doe clutched the towel tightly to her form, while her eyes searched the room for anything.
Leaning forward a bit, he blew some strands of her hair away and gave away his current location. She swatted the air in front of her face, and her left fingertips just brushed the tip of his nose. He stood back up to his full height and observed her, while she examined that portion of her hand.
Her gaze stared straight ahead, which was amusing, since she was connecting her line of sight with his chest and not his face. Still, he wasn't done with her yet. Rather, he peered back over at her phone and started to move it across the floor of the room. The doe's attention quickly averted itself over to the item, as he dragged the device steadily along the carpet.
Once it entered the hallway, she finally stood up. Smirking, he dragged it towards the backdoor before stopping the phone some distance from the wooden object. Drem watched her step into the hall, her eyes glued to the communication device. He wondered if she would really come after it. She probably would, since it was her last means of contacting anyone outside of the house.
Some surprise crossed his countenance when he noticed her starting to walk away from it. This expression vanished, however, once he inspected the way that she was moving. She wasn't taking quick hurried steps towards the bathroom. Rather, they were calculated and slow like she was planning something.
Within the next few seconds, she spun on her heel and bolted towards the phone. Shaking his head at her feeble attempt, he opened up the backdoor and threw the phone outside. Now, he could've just locked the door on her, but he didn't wish to stop the fun there. No, he had something much more delightful in mind.
The little doe ran after it, and as soon as she was outside, he shut the door behind her. Her movement ceased, while she glanced at the now closed door. He clicked the lock and prevented her from entering the home. Immediately, she raced towards the backdoor and tried to open it back up with her left hand, while her right hand held up her towel. He stood next to her and started laughing uncontrollably, as he listened to her cry out, "No, this can't happening, no, no, no ..."
