CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX —
( I'm a total loser. )

Minutes later, everyone in the room above the mutants and Moira began to either run around or watch the security footage.
"What are they doing?" Raven asked.
"What's going on?" Moira asked.
"Hey! What's going on?!" Raven yelled up to Stryker who turned away.
Moments later, the people up above began to run to the right, with some of them holding either their hands or their guns up. "Hey! Stay where you are!" Gun shots sounded and thumping noises could be heard.
Lydia decided to fly up towards the top so that she could check out the situation. Logan, with a really weird head piece, was running around with new metal-like claws, killing everyone. He then suddenly turned towards Lydia and glared at her.
Lydia smiled lightly and waved, and Logan let out a grunt before running out the room.
Lydia floated back down to the other guys. "What was that?" Moira asked.
"Well, everyone up there is dead," Lydia pointed out. "And...well, I think it was. But I saw Logan killing them all."
"Logan?" Raven, Alex and Moira asked.
"I met him ten years ago," Peter told them.
"Same as Hank and I. He came from the future to help us." Lydia thought back to the man she saw up there. "But, he didn't seem like himself up there. He acted out like an....animal. I wish I could've read his mind to see what was wrong, though."
Seconds later, Kurt's blue face popped up through the window. "Kurt!" Lydia smiled. He began to tell the group something but they couldn't hear him.
"What?"
Raven pointed to her ear that she couldn't hear anything. "Stay away f...or," Kurt tried to say.
"The what?" Alex asked.
"The...or. Stay awa f.. door." Kurt gestured for them to move over.
"The door!" Peter and Raven yelled out as Peter grabbed onto Lydia's wrist to pull her over. Once everyone was behind Lydia, she let her green magic run across her hands and created a barrier so that they wouldn't get impacted from the blast.
"In three. One. Two."
The door in front of them exploded and stone and rock flew all around the room, hitting the shield that Lydia held up. Lydia smiled as she closed up the shield and everyone began to hurry past her. Peter lightly patted Lydia's shoulder with a smile. "That's my girl," he said and then walked away.
Lydia smiled at his words.
Hank pulled Lydia out after the others and they watched as Alex and Scott hugged quickly and then turned to them. "We know where the Professor is," Jean said.
"Likewise," Lydia nodded at Jean.
"I think we might have a way out of here," Scott said.
"Well, you've been busy," Raven nodded in approval.
"We had a little help," Scott admitted.
"Yeah, Logan. I saw." Jean tilted her head at Lydia and she felt her nipping through her brain, but Lydia was quick to close off her brain from Jean. They then began to run towards the hangar.
"How does it feel to be running like a normal human?" Lydia asked Peter as he ran at normal speed beside her.
"It's feels wrong if I'm being honest." Kurt then teleported in front of the duo, making Peter squeal. "Jesus!"
"Oh, sorry!" Kurt quickly apologised.
"This way!" Scott turned a corner and everyone followed.
They ran down several corridors until they reached a closed door. With a swipe of Lydia's hand, the door flew up and lead them into a hangar where a jet was.
"Hey, Hank, do you think you can fly this thing?" Raven asked.
Hank nodded. "Yeah, I can figure it out."
"Hey, guys." Everyone faced Scott as he pressed a button which opened up three different wardrobes with black suits. "Flight suits."
"And they just had them lying around?" Lydia asked.
"You got your warplane. Let's go to war," Raven smirked at Hank.
Everyone got dressed in private. Lydia used her telepathic abilities to make herself invisible from their minds, because, if she was being honest, she didn't trust being near naked around Peter. He could take a peak at her without her even knowing.
Once they were all dressed, they all began to head towards the jet. Lydia walked besides Peter and took the chance to check him out. She let out a wolf-whistle. "Man, do you look sexy," she smirked at Peter as his face tinted a slight red.
"Hey, you dropped something," Peter said.
Lydia looked down and around her. "What?"
"My jaw."
Lydia looked back up at Peter and slapped his arm. "It has been eight years since you last used a pickup line on me. Eight bloody years! And you go for that one?" She shook her head. "You are so bad, Maximoff."
"Oh, just fuck already!" Alex called out, making everyone except Peter and Lydia laugh. Lydia's face quickly flushed while Peter awkwardly adjusted his suit to distract himself.
They sat down in seats in the jet and strapped themselves in. Moira and Hank sat in the pilot seats and began to fly the jet.
"Were you scared?" Jean suddenly asked, turning to face Raven and Lydia. "That day in D.C., were you scared?"
"No," Raven instantly replied.
"I honestly wasn't ether. I knew Raven would make the right choice," Lydia smiled at Raven.
"But I was scared on my first mission," Raven spoke. "I was on a plane like this with my friends. Alex, Hank and Lydia being some of them. We were about your age, except Lydia."
"I was ten," Lydia laughed. "I was surprised Charles even let me go."
"We all were," Alex chuckled.
"We called ourselves the X-Men," Raven smiled.
"We thought it was a pretty badarse name," Lydia said.
Peter chuckled.
"I was there, and I was piss scared," Alex laughed. "Everyone used to call me Havok. We all came up with our names like Hank is Beast, Raven is Mystique, Lydia is Enchantress, and so on."
"You were a real handful," Lydia laughed as Alex playfully narrowed his eyes at her. "But when the time came, you were pretty brave."
"Thanks, Lyds."
"What happened to the rest of the kids who went with you?" Kurt asked. "The X-Men?
Lydia sighed as she looked down. "Dead," Raven replied. "I couldn't save them. I told you, I'm not a hero."
"Well, you're a hero to us. The both of you," Jean looked at Lydia. "Seeing you two that day on TV changed my life."
"Mine, too," Kurt spoke up.
"Mine, too," Peter said.
Lydia reached over and patted Peter's leg.
"I mean, I still live in my mom's basement but, you know...." Peter blew a raspberry. Lydia snorted. "everything else is....Well, it's pretty much the same."
Lydia held her fingers up and began listing it off. "Same hair, same jacket, same goggles, probably same taste in music, same childish behavior, same..."
Peter pouted. "Thanks, Lyds."
Lydia smiled at him. "Just lookin out for ya."
"I'm a total loser," Peter said, making everyone laugh.
"Can't argue with you on that one."
Peter shoved Lydia's leg with his leg. "Watch your mouth, Xavier."
"Make me, Maximoff."
"As you wish."
Within seconds, Peter had leant over towards Lydia and captured her lips with his. Cat calls were sounded around the room, but Lydia had drowned them out. Peter's lips felt incredibly soft, even though he runs a lot and they become chapped. Lydia's heart felt as if it thudded in her head as Peter placed a hand on her cheek. He was going slow, something he hardly ever does. Lydia's mind went completely blank and it felt as though he had taken all of her abilities away and all that mattered in that moment was him.
"Get a room!" Alex called out.
Peter and Lydia pulled apart, but still kept their faces very close to one another. Lydia slowly opened her eyes to see him already staring at her, a small smile on his lips.
"Considering you never leave your house, was that your first kiss?" Lydia asked him.
A small blush rose to Peter's cheeks. "No!...maybe....yeah, it definitely was."
Lydia laughed. "You're so cute."
Peter laughed. "Shouldn't I be the one telling you that?"
Lydia shrugged. "But you're always cute. It's unfair."
"I could say the same to you, babe."
"Babe?" Lydia smirked. "Cute."
"I'm not cute!" He exclaimed as they pulled away.
"Sure thing, Sugar Plum."
Lydia heard someone gagging and turned her head towards Alex. "Ugh, PDA! Dis-gus-ting!"
Everyone laughed at him.
