CHAPTER THIRTY-SEVEN —
( I used to tease Charles about becoming bald. )

        The jet began to rapidly shake as they neared Egypt where Charles, Apocalypse and his Horseman were. "Seventh wonder, 12 o'clock," Hank said from the pilots seat.

Lydia got out of her seat at the same time as Raven and they headed towards the front to have a look at what was going on. The buildings and everything around was being pulled out of the ground and floated into the air. The pyramids got ripped apart brick by brick except for a pyramid in the middle which was made out of something else.

Lydia focussed her attention on where Charles would be and found his head in an instant. "Charles is in the centre of the pyramid with the blue guy," she told everyone. "He's going to transfer his consciousness into Charles."

"If he does that, he'll have the power to control every mind in the world," Jean spoke up.

They flew just past the pyramid and Lydia got a closer look at it. The pyramid was formed to look like scales, but made out of stone. There was a smaller pyramid on the top made out of gold. "What the hell is that?" Moira asked.

Lydia watched as Erik ripped up everything on the earths floor around him. "Erik," she mumbled.

Peter was by her side within a second, looking over Hank's shoulder while he chewed gum in his mouth. Lydia held her hand out and Peter must have gotten the memo because a second later, he placed a new piece of gum into her hand. Lydia popped it straight into her mouth.

"You guys help Nightcrawler get into the pyramid," Raven looked at all of the teenagers. "Get Charles."

"I'll look after those little delinquents," Lydia looked back at Scott, Jean and Kurt. "Alex can come."

"Hell yeah!" He fist pumped the air.

"I'll take care of Erik," Raven said.

"How are we gonna get through that?" Hank asked.

"I can get you in there," Peter told Raven. "I partially came here for him," he said as he glanced at Lydia. "Let me help you."

Raven nodded at him. "The rest of you, get Charles on this plane and get him out of here."

"We're not leaving without you!" Kurt said.

"Bless," Lydia mumbled.

"Don't worry. We'll catch up," Peter spoke.

"You two better," Lydia looked at Raven and Peter.

"Hold on," Hank warned.

The plane went down towards the ground and then landed. They all walked out of the plane with the teenagers scared out of their minds. "Hank, you go with Lydia, Alex and the kids. Moira will be waiting on the plane," Raven instructed.

"Wait," Scott stopped.

They all turned around to him. "What?" Raven asked.

"Not all of us can fully control our powers," Scott looked down.

"Then don't," Raven shook her head.

"You just have to embrace your powers," Lydia smiled lightly at him.

"We all do." Raven's pale skin scaled over, leaving her in her natural blue patterned skin with the red slicked back hair.

"That is still awesome," Alex smiled.

Peter walked up to Raven and held onto her neck. He spat out his gum quickly. "No littering on Mother Nature," Lydia smiled.

Peter smiled back. "Like that's ever stopped me."

Raven and Peter ran off in a flash.

Hank, Alex and Lydia ran off with the kids as they made their way towards the pyramid. They got as close as they could and saw an entrance. "There's an entrance. It's clear," Hank said.

Lydia turned her head and quickly spat out her gum. She looked up and saw Alex giving her a look. Lydia smirked in response. Another presence alerted Lydia's attention and she looked up just as a man with metal wings flew at them. "Kurt! Go!" Kurt teleported away.

The man, who's name was Warren, threw knives at them with his wings. Lydia held her hands up and quickly caught them with her green magic before dropping them to the ground. He quickly turned around and went after Kurt.

"In the pyramid! Let's go team! Hustle hustle!" Lydia called out and they all began to run towards the entrance when a fork of lightning struck the ground in front of them, a girl with white hair coming out of it.

Ororo began to cause a storm as she held her hands up into the air and channeled all of her energy into throwing a car at the group. They all ducked. Hank caught the car. Scott took off his glasses and proceeded to shoot the red lasers out of them and towards Ororo, causing her to get knocked into some debris. Hank then threw the car that he caught at her when a woman came flying out of nowhere and sliced the car in half with a purple glowing sword coming out of her arm.

Betsy told something to Ororo so Ororo lifted herself up into the air and then struck lightning down on them. Lydia held her hands up and produced a barrier so she couldn't get to them. The lightning struck down on it but Lydia didn't waver, even as the shield slowly began to crumble. Once the children had ran for cover, Lydia let her right hand go and channeled her magic to wrap itself around a car and then quickly threw it at Ororo, making her quickly stop her lightning to get out of the way.

Lydia looked around and watched as Alex and Hank went up against Betsy and decided to leave them to it. Scott ran up to Lydia as Ororo stood up and held her hands out to cast more lightning into them. Just as she was about to strike down, Lydia held her hands out to the nearest car and flung it towards her. Ororo dodged quickly. Lydia continuously threw several cars at her, deliberately not hitting her because she was only a teenager who didn't really know what she was doing. "Scott, hurry the fuck up!"

Scott took his glasses off and aimed it at Ororo. They both used their powers at the same time and clashed, Ororo's lightning striking Scott's lasers.

(TBH it reminded me of Harry Potter)

Kurt popped up behind Scott. "Scott, glasses on!" He instructed. Lydia held her hand up and blocked Ororo's lightning just as Scott placed his glasses on and then teleported away. Kurt then appeared besides Lydia and then teleported her away and onto the jet.

Lydia saw Charles lying on the ground and quickly rushed over towards him. She noticed something different, though, and snorted. "I use to tease Charles about becoming bald."

Hank and Moira began to make the jet take off when there was a thud on the roof. "What the hell was that?" Moira asked.

Betsy began to stab the roof of the jet with her purple sword. Lydia glanced at everyone and Jean caught her attention. She nodded. "Everyone, grab hold of Nightcrawler!" Jean said as she instantly grabbed onto Charles.

"I've never done it with this many people," Kurt stared wide-eyed at them.

"Remember what Mystique and I said; embrace your powers. Your powers are a part of you. Channel your most happiest memories, think about them and just do it!" Lydia smiled at him.

Kurt grabbed onto Charles and Lydia, and Hank and Moira grabbed onto his tail as Alex, Scott and Jean grabbed onto his arm. Just as a hole burst through the roof, Warren jumped in with his wings and all. Lydia held her hand up and shot a burst of magic in his direction, throwing Warren into the back of the jet.

Kurt began to attempt to teleport them and Lydia quickly used her powers to knock Betsy off of the jet. "Kurt, hurry!" Jean pressed. "Kurt!"

Kurt screamed out and then teleported them into a nearby building.
