CHAPTER SIX —
( Secret code names. )

────────────────

Lydia, Erik and Charles returned back to the facility the following day, only to have Charles and Erik dragged away because of a meeting with the facility about Shaw. They left Lydia behind, and she was currently seated in a circle with the mutants they found and bonded with them as they were all going to be roommates for a while.

"We should think of code names!" Raven suddenly said out of nowhere. "We're government agents now, we should have secret code names." Everyone hummed in agreement. "I want to be called Mystique."

Lydia smiled. "I like that one."

"Damn! I wanted to be called Mystique," Sean jokingly said.

"Well, tough. I called it." Raven turned herself into Sean, causing the man to jump up into his seat startled, but then grinned as everyone applauded Raven's talents. "And I am way more mysterious than you," she told him before turning back into her blonde-haired persona and looked at Darwin. "Darwin, what about you?"

"Well, 'Darwin' is already a nickname, and, you know, it sort of fits. Adapt to survive and all," Darwin said. "Check this out." He stood up and walked over towards the fish tank. He placed his head into the tank and gills suddenly grew out the side of his head, enabling him to breathe underwater. Everyone applauded him as he turned to face them and grinned.

"That was awesome!" Lydia cheered.

"Thank you," he laughed once he pulled his head from out of the tank. "What about you?" He pointed at Sean.

"I'm going to be....Banshee," he smiled.

"Why the wailing spirit?" Hank asked.

"You might want to cover your ears," Sean stood up and everyone immediately covered their ears. He took in a deep breath, grinned at everyone, then let out an ear piecing wail, causing the window to shatter instead of the glass cup that he was aiming for. Everyone laughed as he jumped back onto the couch and Angel stood up.

"My stage name is Angel," Angel told them before turning around and taking off her jacket. "It kind of fits." Wings suddenly grew out of her skin which, before, appeared to be a tattoo. She hovered above the ground and everyone stared at her with their mouths agape.

"You can fly?!" Raven asked, astonished.

"I've always wanted to fly," Lydia said.

"And..." she turned around and faced where the broken glass was. She then suddenly spat out a fireball which landed on the statue outside's head.

"Holy crap!" Sean and the rest of them laughed.

Angel then nodded towards Lydia. "What's your name?" She asked.

Lydia hummed. "Well, I've never really thought about it," she replied and scratched the back of her neck.

"How about..." Raven thought for a second and then grinned, "Enchantress."

Lydia jokingly gasped. "Are you calling me a witch?"

Raven grinned. "Well, with what you can do, you may as well be one."

The two of them chuckled, being the only two in the room to know what Lydia could do. So, Darwin spoke up. "So, ah, what can you do, Enchantress?"

"I've seen some of her powers before," Alex spoke up. "They're freaking awesome!"

"Thank you," Lydia grinned at him. "Well, I can read minds, to a certain extent, but I can't really show you that," she began.

"Okay, I'm thinking of a number between one and a thousand," Sean said.

Lydia lightly rolled her eyes. "Two."

He nodded his head with a grin. "Spot on."

"I guess it runs in your family," Hank commented.

"But I can also...." Lydia held her hands out in front of her and green magic suddenly surrounded her hands. She made it fly up to the roof and then spread out before making it rain down on everyone, giving off the illusion of glitter. Everyone ooh'd in amazement. "I tend to use my abilities when I'm alone and bored, so I have something to play with. Like this—" she flicked her hand and a green puppy began to run around the room. Everyone smiled and watched the dog before it planted itself onto Alex's lap and then disappeared.

"You also did that thing with my mind before," Alex spoke up.

"Yeah, well, I can make people see things that I want them to see and can sort of communicate with them through that way also, but only when I touch their heads," Lydia told them. "Charles thinks that overtime, I'll be able to do that without making physical contact with people."

Angel smiled lightly. "You probably have the best ability here," she told her.

"Thank you," Lydia blushed and smiled sheepishly before turning to Hank. "What about you, Hank?"

"How about Big Foot?" Alex teasingly said.

"You know what they say about guys with big feet. And, ah, yours are kind of small," Raven glanced down at Alex's feet.

"Okay now," Alex shook his head. Raven and Lydia high-fived each other.

"Alex, what is your gift? What can you do?" Darwin asked.

He scratched the back of his head. "It's not....I just can't do it. I can't do it in here."

"Can you do it out there?" Darwin asked.

"Why don't you just do it out there?" Raven asked.

"Alex! Alex! Alex!" Everyone started chanting his name.

Alex heaved a big sigh and then stood up reluctantly and made his way outside. "Get down when I tell you."

"Get down when I tell you," Sean mimicked.

They all got up and stood by the window, and Raven was quick to grab onto Lydia's arm and push her slightly behind her. "Get back," Alex told them. They all went back inside, but then looked out again. "Get back!" They didn't move. "Whatever."

Alex moved his body around and red hoops formed around him. He began to let the hoops go and they went flying towards the statue, slicing it in half.

"Woah!" They all cheered and laughed at the sight of the statue.

The night moved on and music began blasting through the stereo, igniting a little party between the group of mutants. Angel let her wings out and began to fly around the room; Hank took off his shoes and was hanging from a light on the ceiling; Raven was dancing on the couch; and Alex, Sean and Lydia were testing Darwin's abilities.

Sean held up a chair and swung it at him, only for Darwin's skin to turn rock solid. "Come on! You can go harder than that!" Darwin taunted loudly. Lydia held her hand out and green magic consumed it, then placed her hand on Darwin's stomach and watched as he flew towards the wall behind him. Alex, Sean and Lydia all laughed as Darwin got back up onto his feet with a small chuckle. "Okay, I deserved that one."

"What are you doing?" Moira suddenly yelled out of nowhere. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked out of the broken glass and at Moira, Charles and Erik. "Who destroyed the statue?"

"It was Alex," Hank immediately said.

"No. Havok. We have to call him Havok. That's his name now," Raven told him. "And we were thinking you should be Professor X—" Raven pointed at Charles.

Lydia held her hand up. "I came up with that."

"—and you should be Magneto," Raven pointed at Erik.

Erik nodded. "Exceptional," he sarcastically said.

Charles disappointingly shook his head at Raven. "I expect more from you." Then he looked down at Lydia. "Especially when you should be setting an example for Lydia." He then turned around and walked away with Erik and Moira.

Lydia walked up to Raven and they watched them leave. "Don't listen to him. He's just jealous he's the one not having fun this time," Lydia told her.

Raven nodded. "I know."
