Author's Note

Hey, Nuggets, so I had someone ask me to post a small chapter on the physical descriptions of major and some minor characters in Runaway Princess, and while I'm add it, I thought I would throw in a list of the anime that I watch, since a few of you have asked. For those of you who aren't interested in this, I won't be upset if you skip it :) 

Lyra: Lyra is 5'4", she has shoulder-length brunette hair (It used to reach her waist before she cut it. As my hair is past my hips, I can't imagine chopping my hair off- I have trouble even getting it trimmed! Lyra is a brave soul, no doubt). Lyra is 18 years old and has light brown (cognac-ish) colored eyes. Her skin is moderately tan and she has good bone structure in her face, so she is pretty. When she was disguised as a boy, I pictured her as looking like an adorable 14-15 year old: super cute! 

Lasreal: I love this Vann-Hest. Yes, he smells like fish and would love to eat me, but I love him.He's around 17 hands tall (that's super tall, for you non-horse people) and he has a jet black coat. He has slim ears that curve inward at the tips and has a long, narrow face. Instead of dull teeth like a horse Lasreal has sharp teeth hidden behind his lips. He has two large, black eyes and his neck has a predatory curve to it.

Sage: Lyra's Chimera disguised as a dog throughout the book. She has long black fur that is soft and two pointed silken ears. Sage has a pair of large, brown eyes and is very intelligent. She's as tall as a Great Dane (comes up to Lyra's rib cage).

Alandra:  For anyone who may have forgotten the name, this is Lyra's mom, the Queen. She's in her 40's, has wavy brown hair (long) and hazel eyes. She's petite and aging gracefully.

Levi: The Captain of the Queen's Guard. A short guy with fair skin and black hair. He has dark grey eyes (and loves cleaning). He's from Attack on Titan, and I'm sorry guys, but I'll have to change him in the rewrite. 

Aizen: He's old. Not like, farting cobwebs old, but well into his fifties and nearing his 60's. So, pretty old to be ruling a country and fighting in wars and such. (No offense to any readers who may be around this age, I don't mean to be rude. You're still beautiful!) Aizen is around 6 foot, with dark brown (salt and peppered) hair and coffee brown eyes. He has a beard that's graying like his hair, as well. The King used to engage in warfare a lot when he was younger, and used to be quite good at sword play. He has a few scars to show for his time spent roughing it and is proud of them. He isn't handling aging very well, as he stills wants to be spry and full of life like he used to be. He has arthritis, too, so his mobility is more reduced than it used to be. 

Claudius: A giant Scott who looks fierce but is really such a love bug. He watched Lyra grow up and has sworn to be her guardian, even though he serves the King. He has been part of Sam's organization since the beginning and has had a huge hand to play in Lyra's behind-the-scene safety. He has a big red beard, crazy red hair and happy green eyes. Claud is a big baby and I quite love him. 

Lansing: You know, Lance's name actually came from an old classmate I had in grade school. I don't know why I was inspired by it all these years later, but it happened. Lance is 30, has brown eyes and dark hair (a little longer than shoulder-length). He's around 6'2" and is really muscular. (I mean, he works out guys, come on. ;) ) Lance is pretty easy on the eyes, but he's way too old for Lyra and he's basically a brother to her, anyway. Sorry, Lyrance shippers. 

Before the disappearance of Hana, Castiel and Michael, Lyra's Guard had 9 men on it. By the time the three return, there are 12 all together. 

Hana: The Captain  of Lyra's Guard is is his mid-twenties with blonde curls that reach past his shoulders, warn half-up most of the time. Hana has blue eyes, is muscular and tall, around 6'2". The best sword fighter on the Guard and the closest to Lyra.

Camiseal: He is in his mid-twenties, has shoulder-length brown hair that is slightly curly (more like wavy) and has cognac brown eyes. He is around 6 foot tall and has a short beard. He is ranked 2nd in command of the Guard, and is in charge when Hana is away. 

Merlin: Short kept dark hair, blue/gray eyes and has a dimple on his chin. He's in his early twenties. Think Colin Morgan from the show, Merlin :) He's around 5'9" and the rest of the Guardsmen pick on him for it, but he's a good-humored guy and takes everything lightly. He loves to joke around with Lyra, but he actually does take his job seriously, despite this. (I realize that Merlin, along with a few other characters are taken from or based off of other stories, but all of that will change in the re-write.)

Castiel: Another character that will be changed in the rewrite, Cas is around 6 foot with grey eyes and floppy blonde hair that curls past his ears. 

Michael: Michael is around 6 foot as well, and has short cropped, brown hair and brown eyes. 

Jasla: Red hair, pale skin with freckles everywhere. He's 6'4 tall, one of the tallest on the Guard, but he is sort of lanky. He takes his job seriously and rarely smiles when he is working.

Nikeil: Honestly, one of my favorite Guardsmen. He has long, straight black hair that reaches the small of his back (He keeps it in a high ponytail). He's around 6 foot, Tolkien-elf-good-looks with bright green eyes and a killer smile. He's a skirt chaser, but he has a deep respect for Lyra and though he enjoys joking around, he takes his position seriously. He adores Lyra like a little sister and protects her just like a brother. 

Mashkil: Cousin to Nikeil, they know each other very well and used to play together all the time when they were children. Mashkil is average height and has brown hair kept at a descent length. Unlike Nikeil, Mashkil finds having long hair annoying and doesn't like it getting in the way of his swordsmanship skills. He has green eyes that are less vibrant than his cousins. 

Jensen: Though he is now deceased, Jensen was a ponderous man (hella muscular) and stood about 6'5" tall. (He was a beast, God rest his soul.) He had curly black hair that reached to his shoulder blades and has pale-ish skin with serious, calculating brown eyes. He took his job seriously, so much in fact, that he gave his life to it.

Hener: Younger brother of Hana and a previous Knight of the King, Hener is 23 years old and stands around 6'2". His golden hair has more curl to it than his brothers and he also wears it pulled half back. He has bigger, more noticeable blue eyes than Hana and has a very cheerful face. Ever since Hana joined the Guard and quickly earned his spot as the Captain, Hener has been dreaming about joining up with his brother to protect Lyra. Hener is not shy and loves to be around Lyra and his brother. 

Sebastian: (Sebas-chan, for my fanGrell's out there) Has a name inspired by an anime that I love, though his character is largely different than the one portrayed in the show. Sebastian in in his early thirties and has black hair and blue eyes. His skin is pretty pale and he gives off a strange sort of feeling, almost like a danger vibe. He was placed on Lyra's Guard (by the King) to keep an eye on her.

Darion: An adorable puppy-man. He has gray eyes and a mop of curly, bouncy, blonde curls. You can practically see his tail wag when Lyra is around him. He's very loyal and outgoing, pretty excitable and a happy person. He's 21 or so and stands at around 6 foot tall.

Kaladin: We all know and love this big teddy bear. Okay, he's about as cuddly as a warthog, but we love him anyway. Kaladin is pretty tall, 6'3" with cerulean blue eyes that are framed by dark lashes. He's very handsome in a rugged way. He has the training of an assassin and is kick-ass all around, plus he is fiercely loyal, making him perfect for being on Lyra's Guard. Plus, on top of all of this, he has excellent breeding and a title that he doesn't use because of the horrible uncle that he killed. He's almost Prince status, but he doesn't care about that at all and has no interest in claiming to be the lost Prince of Aranal. Also, I stole his name from another book, so I'll probably change it so I don't feel like a horrible person. It kind of suits him though, doesn't it?

Syl: She's a spitfire for certain. I'm thinking she and Adolin have like Scottish blood to explain her red hair, but I also feel like they should have an accent. That might be cool. Syl is 20 and has long red hair, full lips, a killer body and brown eyes that will eat you alive. She's a super bad ass and loves to curse. 

Adolin: He's a blonde baby with a killer instinct and quick temper. Adolin and Syl are both names that I took from another book as well, and I'll probably change them to avoid plagiarism. Adolin has normal-length blonde hair and grey eyes. He's tan from being outside all the time and doesn't mind pick-pocketing people. Best friends with Jed.

Jedediah: He's a true sweetie. Think King Arthur (Bradly James) from the show Merlin for his physical description. He's around 6 foot and has blonde hair and blue eyes. He's not as tan as Adolin and not nearly as vulgar, but even more deadly.

That's all of Lyra's Guardsmen, unless I'm a terrible person and forgot someone, which is likely, knowing me. Now, onto Sam and his men. 

The King of Whales: Totally going to change the names of places in the rewrite. Anyway, this guy hasn't actually seen any screen time in the book yet, so I haven't thought too much about what he looks like. He probably looks like an older, meaner version of Sam with graying hair and a beard.He's probably fat, too. Sam hates him.

Samson: He's handsome (like the typical princely type), with black hair that reaches his past ears and fern green eyes. He's a pretty boy, though he doesn't act like it. He's trained in Royal swordplay (so is Lyra) and can shoot a bow accurately, though not as perfectly as Lyra or Syl. Sam is around 6 foot and is pretty muscular, though he's not too big. 

Thomas: The Captain of Sam's Guard, a huge guy. Huge. He would have rivaled Jensen in size and has tan skin. He might be bald, I'm not sure yet, but he has dark colored eyes and huge muscly arms and legs. He's super strong and loyal to Sam, though he's untrusting of outsiders.

Titus: Ah, the Hoodwink. Titus is 21 and is a bright boy, very cunning and reminds me of a fox. He has blue/gray eyes and is pretty cute. He's around 6'2" and is brutal with a bow and arrow and throwing knives. Maybe he and Syl should get together and have little killer Katniss babies.

Sam has other Guards, but they're not really important, so I'll leave the nameless ones out. 

Fat-lard-hate-his-guts King Alphonse: He's fat and ugly and rude. All you need to know. He has black hair and blue eyes and is super selfish. And annoying. A big blubbering baby without a backbone. He is proof that author's don't always like their own characters.

Now, on to the anime.

Anime that I watch/have watched: Howl's Moving Castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo (basically every Studio Ghibli movie), Naruto, Free! Iwatobi Swim Club and Eternal Summer, Sword Art Online, Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, Bleach, Blue Exorcist, Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler), Kuroko No Basket, Soul Eater, Hyouka, The Devil Is A Part Timer, Noragami, The Seven Deadly Sins, Ouran High School Host Club, Durarara (and x2), Magi, One Piece, Fruits Basket, Fairy Tail, One Punch Man, Inuasha, Ranma 1/2, Zankyou No Terror, and I'm sure there is some I'm missing because the list is ever growing. I have a ton of other anime I have on my "to watch" list, but I'll also take the names of any that you recommend! I've also read some manga, though it's been a few years since I got my hands on one. So, if you have any recommendations, lay on on me!

Oh, and I'll try to get started on the next chapter soon, but the next two weeks are going to be busy for me with prom and graduation... but then, BAM, summer will be here! And then I'll hopefully finish Runaway Princess up and get to the much needed editing. (Don't cry, a sequel is planned for the future!)Then a rewrite, then hopefully, off to a publisher. But, we'll see what happens :)
