M o m m y ' s G i r l

To all those who think

Angels don't exist,

There is one with us,

Always in our midst.

She might not have wings,

Nor a ring above her head.

Her appearance might vastly differ,

As to whatever you might have read.

She brushed my teeth

And dressed me well.

With touch, so heavenly tender.

She tied my hair in tidy braids,

For as long as I can remember.

She showed me the twists and turns of this,

Uniquely mystical world.

She taught me that

Not every cloud has its silver line.

She held my hand

And guided me

All along the way.

She taught me to find an excuse to smile,

Each and every single day.

She celebrated my victories,

With a joyous heart

And made my smile grow wider.

She consoled my heart,

When it was filled with sorrow.

This angel is the one,

Who made me smile

Even when I cried.

She helped me reach my

Goals and dreams,

And taught me how to soar.

She made me believe in myself

And taught me to be true.

She taught me to be kind

In every single thing I do.

She fixed my broken heart,

At the times when

It had been shattered.

She stood by me,

Through all my trials

Even if they didn't matter.

She sacrificed half her life for me

And continues to do the same.

You might know her very well by now,

'Mother' is her name.

I owe her my life

And so does everybody

In this whole wide world.

I feel extremely proud to say that

I am my mommy's girl.
