FIVE. i'm beggin' of you, please don't take my man
THALIA WATCHED Tory from her desk's mirror. She had been gently brushing her hair as Tory explained how they should attend this party that Moon was throwing for the end of summer.
"It's a party, Thalia." Tory scoffed. "Miguel's going and he's always talking about you at practice so-"
Thalia smiled softly, turning around i. her seat. "He talks about me?"
Tory paused in her step, looking over at Thalia. "Of course, he talks about you." She smiled. "Is that hard to believe?"
For Thalia?
"Yeah." She muttered. "I mean, he hasn't asked me out and-"
"I swear to God if you mention LaRusso I'm going to kill you."
Thalia liked Miguel, she really did, but it was hard to believe that Miguel really liked her at times. She wasn't jealous of Sam, far from it actually. She just didn't know Miguel's intentions. She didn't know if he was waiting for Sam to come back or if he was using her to move on.
She had fallen fast and it was a flaw she knew that she had, but she didn't have to worry about that with her last relationship. Thalia and her ex-boyfriend were good, even when they had broken up, but they had both fallen for each other fast and that didn't seem to be a problem.
Tory sighed. "Screw gender norms, Tally. Ask him out instead. Even better? Don't worry about any of that tonight. Just let loose, okay?"
Let loose... Yeah, Thalia could do that. She could totally let loose and have fun at the party. She wouldn't worry about who she did and didn't know and she would worry about Sam. She would let loose and have fun, besides, this was supposed to be the party to end the summer.
"Fine," Thalia muttered. "I'll go. Get out so I can change."
Tory smiled and gently shook Thalia's shoulders in excitement and left the room.
Thalia sighed, running her fingers through her hair as she got up to get changed. Once changed, she and Tory made their way over to Moon's.
Her place was huge, as big as the country club it seemed, but the girls made their way inside with a smile from Moon. Apparently, she and Hawk (whose name was still a mystery to Thalia) had broken up. It wasn't any of Thalia's business nor did she really care at the moment, she had her own thing to get through and that was seeing where she and Miguel lay in the relationship line.
Speaking of, she spotted the boy standing with Hawk and a couple of other Cobra Kai students and made her way over with Tory following closely behind.
Miguel felt a nudge against his shoulder and looked over at Hawk as he pointed over toward the two girls making their way over. He smiled softly and began pouring drinks into the red solo cups and passed them over to them once they were close.
"Thalia, this is Hawk." Miguel introduced, throwing his arm gently around her shoulder. "Hawk, this is Thalia, Tory's sister."
Thalia waved softly as she took a small sip of her drink. She cut her eyes over towards Tory who gently smiled and nudged her arm.
Miguel continued. "They're playing a drinking game in the backyard. Anyone want to play?"
Tory was quick to jump in and agree. She, Miguel, and Thalia made their way towards the backyard. The rules were quickly explained to the girl and they decided to play one game together, the winner would go on to play with whoever wanted to join.
In the end, Thalia lost (by a small margin) and Tory went on to be every person who played against her.
"Winner and still champion, Tory!" Miguel cheered.
The group surrounding them applauded her and Tory laughed as she held her hand out for Thalia to grab. She helped her sister down and the two of them shared a laugh as Tory stumbled her way off of the chair.
Miguel smiled from the side, watching the two interact for what seemed to be the first time. Their bond was close, he could see that.
It didn't take long for Thalia to help Tory balance herself, but as Thalia's smile only grew, Tory's would falter. She looked behind her and saw Sam and Robby drawing closer and closer to the trio.
Tory quickly regained her composure and made her way over. Thalia couldn't and wouldn't try to stop her, Tory would do what she wanted no matter the consequences.
"Well, look who it is." Thalia scoffed. "Maybe you'd like to play a little game? Or are tea parties more your speed, Princess?"
Thalia and Miguel stood close behind Tory and the girl wished her sister would just drop whatever negative thoughts she had against the girl, but as Sam glanced behind Tory and saw Miguel holding Thalia's hand, she quickly sighed and brought her attention back over to Tory.
"Just give me a cup."
Tory smirked. "All right. New game."
Thalia let go of Miguel's hand and rushed over to Tory's side. She helped the girl onto the chair but looked up at her with concern drawn in her eyes.
"Are you sure you wanna do this?"
"It's friendly competition, Tally." Tory smiled. "Don't worry about it."
Miguel stepped forward and handed Tory the solo cup.
The two of them stepped back and watched as Tory and Sam chugged cup after cup. Sam would wobble as she stood on the chair and soon enough, they would be drinking with one foot lifted in the air.
"How you doing over there, LaRusso?" Tory asked.
"I could do this all night."
Tory smirked. "Yeah? Hey, Big Red, two shots of vodka."
Cheers erupted as the shots were handed to them and thrown back with ease, but as someone from crowed cheered louder for Tory, she stumbled at the sudden sound, losing her balance, and falling from the chair, hitting the ground with a large thud.
The surrounding group would gasp at the fall and Thalia and Miguel would rush towards her as Sam looked down at the trio with a large smirk.
"Guess somebody couldn't hold their liquor, huh?" Sam teased.
Thalia knitted her brows over at the brunette as she helped Tory to her feet.
"Tory," Miguel called. "are you okay?"
Tory shook her hand away from Thalia causing the younger of the two to knit her brows in confusion. Tory sighed heavily, looking between the two with anger and embarrassment covering her face.
"I'm going to go clean up." She muttered. "Just leave me alone."
The two of them watched Tory as she stormed inside. With a sigh, Thalia turned, facing Miguel with a soft smile.
"I should go check on her."
Miguel nodded and placed a gentle kiss against Thalia's temple.
She smiled back at the boy before pushing her way through the crowd to try and find where Tory had run off to.
Thalia bumped into several people as she pushed her way upstairs, nightfall had come, though it had just been as bright as day a few minutes ago. Regardless, Thalia was able to push her way upstairs and gently knocked on several doors before she finally knocked on one of them and the door quickly swung open and pulled Thalia inside.
The door was slammed shut behind her and Thalia turned in haste. She watched as Tory pressed her back against the door with her brows furrowed.
"Could've been worse." Thalia chuckled.
"How Tally?" Tory asked.
"I don't know." She muttered. "You had already been drinking. This doesn't mean anything." Thalia sighed. "I get why you're mad, but you got to let this go. Things between you and Sam shouldn't go further than this."
"She blamed me for stealing her mom's wallet and tripped you unprovoked at the skating rink."
It was clear that Tory wasn't going to tell Thalia that she was the reason she was tripped up at the skating rink.
"She shouldn't have to do either of those things, but maybe you could be the bigger person here?" Thalia suggested. "Show everyone that you're better than her by not being bothered by her."
Tory sighed heavily. "Would it make you happy if I said okay?"
"I feel a lot better if you'd agree that I was right." Thalia smiled.
"In your dreams." Tory softly scoffed. "But I will push it aside for the night."
Thalia smiled. "Good. Now, I'm gonna get us something to drink and find Miguel."
"Don't keep me waiting."
Thalia held her smile as she gently pushed Tory over and made her way out of the room and back out into the crowded halls of Moon's. She grabbed two cups from a boy named Demetri and thanked him with a small smile.
She poked her head out the back door to see if Miguel was there, but he was nowhere to be seen. She sighed as she continued making her way around the house. Thalia finally made her way around the other side of the house and saw the glow of the pool shimmering through the floor-length windows.
She pushed her way through the crowd until she could step onto the pavement that led to the pool, but she paused as she let her shoulders drop.
Thalia heavily sighed as she saw Miguel and Sam kissing by the bright pool lights.
Thalia could only nod to herself as she turned in haste. She slammed the solo cups down by a group of people who barked at her so getting drips of alcohol on them, but she didn't care.
She felt a hand on her shoulder, but quickly jerked it off thinking it was Miguel, but there before her stood Tory with her brows knitted in confusion.
"What the hell?" Tory muttered. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Thalia muttered.
"Nothing?" Tory scoffed. "You're crying Thalia."
Thalia brought her hand to her face, using the back of it to wipe the tears from her face.
"Thalia-"
"Drop it, Tory." Thalia snapped. "Ask Aisha to take you home. I'm leaving."
It wasn't like Thalia to just snap at Tory. It was rare that she did so. So, Tory went on the prowl.
She push through the crowd of people with force and soon found herself where her sister once stood, seeing Miguel and Sam sharing a kiss by the pool.
Tory tightened her jaw and shoved through the crowd, by the time she made her through it, Thalia was long gone, going home no doubt.
Soon, the sound and flashing lights of the police began piling into the yard.
The entire house had been in shambles with people rushing out if the house from various doors while grabbing boxes of pizza and other things they can take from the home.
Tory was able to make it out of the party unscathed and made it home with a heavy sigh. She was exhausted and hadn't stopped running until she knew she was out of police sight.
She sighed as she opened the front door of the apartment and shut her eyes, pressing her back against the door as she shut it.
It was dark in the house, nothing unusual, but still.
Tory finally opened her eyes and pushed herself off of the door. She made her way down the narrow hallway and gently knocked on the first door.
There was no noise, but she opened the doot anyway and saw Thalia laying in bed. The room dark and the fuzzy blanket covering her entire body.
"Cops came." Tory chuckled. "You just missed it."
Thalia didn't say anything as she lay there. She was deeply upset but more so with herself rather than Miguel.
She should've known.
Tory sighed once more and shut the door softly behind her, but as midnight came she was up once again.
She was gonna avenge her sister... but at what cost?
