Chapter Three
Feror looked down at his phone utterly speechless. After he called one of the warriors who were sent to find Sienna at her apartment and learned that they were unsuccessful in capturing her after she set fire to it to throw them off her trail and escaped, he was thoroughly convinced that she was a person of great interest. Her boyfriend Ruiz must have not known about her secret life because there was nothing suspicious about him but Sienna was definitely running away from them. It couldn't be something as innocent as one illegal transaction that she did to make her that fearful. It must have been something big and Feror was sure it had something to do with pushing items on the black market.
She could be working with Taz for all he knew. At the moment, more than ever, he was determined to find her and find out what she knew. A small chuckle escaped his lips as he settled his phone down and stalked to the adjoining bathroom. She was more than he expected and she was hiding in plain sight, lying to the people around her that she was a broker. She was clean; in fact, she was too clean because they didn't have any information about her in their databases--not even a parking ticket. However, what sounded Feror's warning bells were the few cases they had where the convicts described a certain ghost pusher but didn't recall who she was or what she was doing there. This unidentified female could be her.
Feror shed his clothes and stepped under the shower. He let the hot water run down his cold skin, chasing away the layer of loneliness and warming him, reminding him that he was still very much alive. Death was looming too close to him that he could feel its breath teasing the little hairs on his face. Promises of peace echoed in his head in silent wails. If he just gave up fighting and let the mortal lock consume him, he was going to be free from that agony that he was constantly in.
It wasn't only the agony of pain streaking through his bones and polluting his body. The agony came from the scourging he was receiving from the Heavens for a crime he didn't know. It was the agony of knowing that he was going to take his last breath but not knowing when and whether he was just going to fall down and die or he was going to lose the will to fight on a battlefield. He didn't know whether he was going to give the enemy the advantage of gutting him, spilling his organs onto the sacred ground, or beheading him and carrying his rotting head around like a trophy.
The ultimate agony was in the wait. The anticipation of that final moment was building in his blood, turning it black and thickening it until at times he felt that he was already dead and was just a corpse moving around. A shitload of emotions wreaked his mind; sorrow, pain, anger, regret, and begrudge.
Water gushed over his face, trying to wash away his sorrow but the grooves of his wariness were embedded too deep into his skin to get rid of.
A loud crash sound knocked some senses in him from the next room and had him alert. They were positioned in the Achelion royal house that they had to share with some of the Jinn warriors including Seygon. He knew that room was Seygon's and did not see that male bringing any company that evening because he was busy supervising his team and making sure that everything was going smoothly. The male was a perfectionist that saw everything to the last detail. With him on the team, Feror was sure they were going to get to Sienna before she disappeared from the face of the earth.
Feror ran his fingers through his wet hair and pulled on a pair of jeans. His chest was still glistening with water as he stepped out into the corridor with his double guns and bare feet. He was surprised to meet a few Jinns pacing in front of one of the doors. When they turned to him, he saw the way their eyebrows snapped up in surprise. Adanna, one of the promising female Jinn warriors let a smile spread across her lips as she took in his appearance.
Feror exposed himself to them. He exposed the brotherhood tattoo that was running down his back and terminating around his shoulders. He also exposed his scars, especially the blue-black crystal one he got from the thyest bow on his arm.
Their attention was momentarily dispersed from him when something heavy crashed against the door and grunts could be heard from the other side. Black smoke swirled from the crack under the door and Feror watched in astonishment as the doorknob turned red with heat and literally melted against the wood.
"What the fuck is going on?" He asked as he cocked his guns, ready to pepper whatever that was going to smash its way out of the commander's room.
The Jinns smirked, their dark eyes smoldering with amusement as the patterns on their arms writhed lazily over their skins.
"No need to fly in with guns, Commander." Vlad, one of the brutal warriors Feror had ever seen, spoke as he pushed himself against the wall and stood up straight. "It's just a baby going through puberty."
As if on cue, Feror heard Seygon gruffly instruct someone who was in there with him. "Hold her!"
Feror felt his entire body quiver. It was a young female and she was going through puberty. Unlike the beasts where bones elongated, fingernails and teeth fell off, where muscles tore and re-stitched and where another entity started living inside of them forming primal thoughts in your head; the Jinns' virgin skins burnt off like that of dragons and the phoenix, the once dormant tattoos they were born with came to life and started writhing on their skins like serpents, their hair fell off and new hair grew and finally, they turned into a ball of smoke and fire. That was where the greatest challenge came because if their concentration was scattered due to the pain then they could not solidify and they turned into ash and died. Unlike the Mage who couldn't flash until they become High Mage, the Jinns were able to flash even before they reached puberty but at puberty, the art enhanced allowing them to cover larger distances through space and time.
A blood-curdling scream permeated the cracks around the door and more black smoke plumed around them, making their throats itch and their eyes tear.
If that went on any longer, the entire floor was going to catch fire! What was the young Jinn doing there in the first place?
"If you are wondering why she was here...it's because she is the younger sister to the housekeeper. Tay didn't expect his sister to go through puberty now or he would have sent her back home. It is a tradition to undergo your first transformation in front of your tribe leaders so that they can assign you your tribe position." Adanna explained then sighed and caressed her braid softly. Now that Feror looked closely, he noted the different patterns of braids on their heads that identified them according to their tribes. "My puberty came unannounced as well--went on for two days."
The warriors started muttering to themselves, recalling what each went through during their own puberty. It was something Feror didn't want to remember but that kind of pain could not be forgotten.
He disarmed his guns and tucked them on the small of his back. "How long can this go for?" He asked as he watched a distraught male make his way down the hallway. By the uniform he was wearing, Feror could tell that he was Tay, the housekeeper.
"A few more hours. All she has to do is pull off the flash and she will be fine. Her new skin will grow back in a day or so and her hair within the week." Vlad explained with a shrug.
"Don't forget the tatts that have to barrow their way to the surface." Someone muttered and they all cringed in pain.
Feror didn't want to know.
"How are they doing?" Tay asked, his anxiety etched on his face like a mask.
"Almost done." Vlad patted Tay on his shoulder encouragingly. He stretched and suppressed a yawn before turning to Feror and smirking. "The silence must mean all is well. Good night." Smoke swirled around him before he flared and disappeared.
Adanna gave Tay a small smile and she together with the others went about their business including monitoring the premises and figuring out where Sienna disappeared.
Tay's eyes brightened a little bit and a smile of hope appeared on his lips. Feror understood what the male was going through. Feror had his share of pitiful deaths during puberty and the fouls' first transformations. Surviving the change was not guaranteed. It was almost as though nature was only selecting the best to survive, weeding out the weaklings.
Feror's thoughts were rudely interrupted as the door to Seygon's room was yanked back, falling out of its hinges. The male walked out with his dark skin glistening with sweat. There were blisters that had formed on his torso and arms but that did not mar the impressive presence of the commander. Behind him was another male, a head taller than Seygon with a leaner body. He, too, was covered with bruises and soot smudges on his torso and face. He slashed his eyes across the room and they settled on Feror before one side of his lips quirked up. He reminded Feror of a serpent with his rhythmic movements. Instead of having the intrinsic braid design on his head, he had the sides shaved off and the center was braided in a long thin braid that was coiled around his left arm like a whip.
Unlike the other Jinns, he had his tattoos slithering across the bald sides of his head. His eyes were crystal black. Feror had never seen a Jinn quite like him and he was convinced he must have been a half-breed.
"How is Charimelle doing?" Tay suddenly stepped forward, all the courage he flaunted before was gone.
"She made the flash." Seygon sighed tiredly as he cracked his neck from side to side. "The growth process of her new skin has already begun. Since she is a pure-blood Jinn, the new skin will take about a day to wrap itself fully around her body..." He gave the male behind him a side look and a smirk appeared on his face. "It's best if her mate takes care of her during her transformation."
Feror was sure Tay's eyes would have rolled out if they could and the male behind Seygon grinned maliciously at Tay.
"May the gods be damned!" Tay growled. "Him! Why him?"
Feror could tell there was no good blood between the two males.
"Marzil is one of the best warriors we have, Tay." Seygon defended him. "He will take care of your sister. In fact, he has been taking care of her all this time--"
"He terrorized her! Charimelle feared him and it is the reason why she left the Black Fortress and came here." Tay explained and Feror rolled his eyes.
"I knew she was my mate long before she even did the change. She knew the connection with me was there and it was what she feared, not me. Like any baby who has not made the change, she didn't understand it." Marzil spoke coolly.
Feror recalled hearing the same about Commander Ruvin and his baby mate. From the stories he heard from his former Human Realm team, Alli did everything to stay away from her mate until she finally made the change and fully established her bond with him.
"There is nothing you can do about it, Tay. The Heavens have decided." Seygon assured him then turned to Marzil. "Take her to your chambers where she can recuperate better." Tay was about to object when Seygon held his hand up. "You've got better things to worry about, Tay, like how we are going to explain to the Dark king that we torched his house. Get someone to fix this before word gets to him."
Tay clamped his mouth but Feror could tell he wanted to object. Tay inclined his head to the commander and he gave Marzil a long glare that warned him to behave. When Marzil turned back to the chambers, Feror realized what he was and he was thoroughly shocked.
A line of sharp ombre black, down-turned talon-like spikes ran down his spine and they unfurled and contracted with the movement of his muscles. That was something he saw on dragons' backs. Marzil was a Dragon-Jinn half-breed which meant he was a great asset. Both bloodlines were dominant which meant that he would be able to tap into both his beast abilities and his Jinn's. Impressive...
When he returned, he had a tiny female wrapped in a blanket in his arms. Feror was able to note the severe burns on her face and her exposed arm. The blanket exposed muscles were oozing blood from them making him cringe and his skin crawled. Her breathing was ragged and with Feror's superior hearing, he heard her heartbeat do a thousand beats per second.
Though the female made her first flash, she wasn't out of the woods yet. They still had to monitor her until she was completely healed and stabilized.
"Permission to be relieved of my duties for the next week, commander." Marzil inclined his head to Seygon, who without hesitation granted him that. Marzil flashed away with his mate in his hands.
"He is the best hunter we have on the team. He always does twice the work because of his dragon bloodline. He is a powerful male; the only dragon I know who can flash around and use his Jinn tattoos in his beast form." Seygon chuckled in wonder.
"But he is an untamed savage." Tay inserted indignantly. "He has you always looking over your shoulder because you never know when he will snap."
Seygon chuckled patting Tay's shoulder. "He only did that to crawl under your skin because he knew how close you were to your younger sister. He had been interested in Charimelle from the moment he laid his eyes on her during the festive season last year but you always acted like the protective older brother. He is part beast and once you did that, you issued a challenge to him--am I wrong Feror?"
Feror grinned as he nodded slowly. "Never stand between a beast and what they want. We always take it as a challenge and on our good days, you will walk away with a few bruises and broken bones--on our bad days, you will leave in a body bag."
Feror saw the way Tay swallowed hard and chuckled. It wasn't a lie when it came to challenging a beast. It was just a primal instinct that beasts couldn't ignore and it has got them into trouble more times than Feror could remember.
"You are lucky Marzil didn't char your skin away," Seygon assured him and Tay's eyes widened even more. He then turned to Feror and asked. "Wanna join me for a nightcap?"
"Sure." Since Londyn was ignoring him, he turned to his second faithful partner...alcohol. "Any information on Sienna?"
Seygon shook his head as his braid trembled around his neck. He cooed it by rubbing it and Feror could tell that Sienna was causing stressing him as much as she was Feror.
It didn't make sense how a small female like her could out best army commanders. Feror's theory was that she was getting help from someone and he planned to get the both of them.
"The warriors still can't lock on to her scent. One of my Jinn-Mage warriors assured me that she used an infusing herb that makes it even more difficult for a beast to track her scent. He said that they are several of them but they haven't yet found out which one. Sienna knows what she is doing and I have a feeling this is not the first time she had to flee from the law. " Seygon explained.
A Jinn-Mage?
"I thought Dante was the one Jinn-Mage in existence?" Feror asked cautiously.
"There are about two more in the army." Seygon didn't look like he wanted to go into details as to how those two showed up.
Feror didn't push. He recalled the female's scent of irises and honey. It was very unique and he was sure to catch it when he came across it again. "Can we find out the Mage who sold her the infusing herb?"
Seygon sighed softly and shook his head. "Unfortunately we have a lot of Mage here practicing their arts because it's easy for them to move across the borders."
"If the Mage was able to sell her an infusing herb, it's either a Mage of cure of Mage of floral. The high Mage I have in my team can recognize which infusing herb Sienna used and we can narrow them down to that at least." Feror followed the male to what looked like a common room where several other warriors were there enjoying a beer or two. He couldn't say it loudly but deep down inside, he was rather enjoying himself chasing after Sienna. She was a clever little thing always a step ahead of them. He was a little proud of her and he knew the chase was going to be sweet.
"We can do that but I won't promise you anything. If Mage decide to disappear, they do it so easily." Seygon assured him. "Even though we have teams monitoring the city, we can't keep an eye on everyone."
It was worth a try, Feror thought. There must be someone who knew something about Sienna out there. Before they went back to Ruiz with the whole picture, they needed to get their facts straight. Ruiz was only going to corporate in finding her if he knew the truth about her.
Sienna plaited her braid and let it hang behind her before she dressed up for the night. She was collecting the artifact for Ruiz in two hours. She already got herself a ticket for the fastest train out of that city and all her necessities were in a backpack, including money that would help her start a new life. She couldn't help but recall the two commanders. There was no doubt they were searching for her. She was lucky she knew a certain Mage that she got favors from in return for some rare items that she used in her spells and potions.
Levia helped her a lot especially when it came to escaping. That was the grandest escape yet and she had a little infusing herb to burn in her safe house to completely shake the warriors from her back. It took a lot to outsmart royal army warriors and she had barely escaped with her flesh intact once on a close encounter.
She knew that night, the moment she crossed the Gates of Elba and vanished, they were never going to find her and she could start her life afresh somewhere else. Was she going to continue pushing?
Of course!
That was the only thing she knew how to do. She was able to live the life she had because of pushing. She was an expensive female, molded with nobility. Many mistook her for a Noble daughter and she shamelessly wore that badge to get into places any other person couldn't. She attracted the right people and they commissioned well for her jobs. She couldn't think of any other job that paid better than that. As they said; the higher the risk, the higher the return.
She smirked as she put on the glasses Levia fashioned for her. They cast a shadow over her face so that whoever saw her could not identify her and it was a reason why most of the risky jobs she did when the others were caught, they couldn't describe her to the army. She looked at her watch and hummed softly when she saw yet another message from Ruiz enter her phone. Sadness weighed down her heart like lead.
The male had sent about ten messages asking her if she were alright. He called her as well. Though she was risking being tracked using her phone, she had to keep it and message Ruiz once she got the item. Good thing was that she used an alias to register the phone so they would get the wrong address. That would buy her some time.
She zipped her leather jacket and hid her weapons in various places on her body in case the job went sour. She got her gloves on before she made her way out. Her safe house wasn't so far away from the location Hert told her. With her backpack strapped safely behind her, she mounted her bike and started the engine. It roared into life and purred smoothly as she eased it from the bushes near her entrance. She wished she took that baby with her, unfortunately, there were several people she worked with who recognized it and she was bound to get caught if she tried to cross borders with it.
"Call Hert," she instructed her phone which instantly searched for the name and dialed the number.
"Sienna..." Hert croaked from the other side.
"I am heading to the meeting point for the item. Who am I meeting there?" She asked him.
"Uhm--they will approach you." He sounded squeamish and that had Sienna's warning bells blaring in her ears.
"Ruiz has been searching for you all day yesterday, did you talk to him?" Sienna asked.
"Uh--yes, I did. I called him that same night. Once you get there, send me a message." Hert spoke again, making Sienna warier.
"Alright." She answered and hung up the phone before she concentrated on the road.
That was the first time she had ever gone on a job without enough information and everything in her gut was telling her not to but she wanted to do that one last thing for Ruiz. He entrusted her with the task and she didn't want to let him down. It was the least she could do for him because not only had he trusted her with his most important jobs but he also found his way to her heart. No matter where she went, she was always going to remember him.
There was no one who knew how to satisfy her body like the way Ruiz did. He took his time, making sure she was thoroughly taken care of before he sought his own pleasure. He took his time in trying to find out more about her. Oh, how she wanted to share that side with him. She knew if she had decided to settle down with him, he was going to take good care of her. She was going to break his heart and walk away from the only opportunity that was going to have changed her life forever. It was going to take her away from the shady life that she was living but she felt that if the truth about her ever came out, it was going to tarnish Ruiz's reputation taking into account that he was connected to very influential people, including the king himself.
And speaking of the Dark King, she recalled the job that Ruiz wanted her to do for him. She knew there was a hefty reward if she found the item he lost but was she going to risk her neck for it?
Not in that lifetime.
She had no idea where she was going after the exchange was done. She just bought a train ticket to the furthest place from there. When she got there, she was going to see whether she could go back home to Verion in the Sapphire Meadows or escape to the Quegal Cliffs that were too isolated from the rest of the realm, stay under the radar for a while until the whole situation with the commanders blew over.
Just thinking about being caught by Commander Feror made her skin creep. She heard about it from other pushers who had their friends caught by the male. He inflicted pain on all his victims and always knew what level of pain worked for who.
Sienna quickly discarded such useless thoughts as she approached her destination. It was dark and the warehouses rose up like giants in a slumber. There was a chain-link fence protecting the premises and from a distance, she could hear the ocean waves crashing against the cliffs and harbor. The location was close enough for her to taste the sea salt in the air and to smell the musty seaweeds that were harvested and left to dry out in the rocks for food by certain Jinn tribes.
The engine of her bike purred as she got close to the gates that were being protected by two guards with guns. She saw their tatts on their necks and was sure if they wanted to catch a thief, they wouldn't fail. Sienna swallowed hard as she eased her bike to the gates. The two bulky males moved forward, ready to waste her if she so much as tried to scratch her back.
"Are you lost, Miss?" One asked, his deep voice husky as if he was a chain smoker.
"Nah, I was sent here by Hert for a package?" She replied as she removed her helmet and glasses, then smiled sweetly at them.
Satisfaction thickened in her blood when she noticed how mesmerized they suddenly were. She used her Nymph abilities to let herself in. "They are expecting me." She let her voice wrap around them like thick warm syrup oozing down their bodies.
The males gulped hard as their hungry eyes ran up and down her body before one shook his head and turned away. "Open the gate!" He yelled out.
The gates groaned before they slid open.
"Thank you, boys." Sienna winked at them and eased the bike inside the compound.
One side of the place was stacked with cargo containers that looked like they stayed there for a while because they were already rusting away due to the salty air. The other side had some fancy cars parked. The lights to the main building of the place were on and she could see movement through the large windows. There was security circulating, eyeing her carefully as she parked her bike close to the entrance.
The moment she switched off her ignition and jumped off the bike, the front door creaked open and four males exited the building.
"Sienna..." A familiar voice came through and Sienna frowned in suspicion.
"Hert--I didn't expect to see you here since you wanted me to come and collect the package for you and Ruiz." Her eyebrow arched up at him.
The mousy male nervously shifted from one leg to the other then looked at the male who was eyeing Sienna like the forbidden midnight snack. Hert didn't have much going for him apart from the fact that he had money. When he stood with Ruiz, Ruiz overshadowed him in every aspect. He was shorter and he had an average face that was forgettable in the long run. "Uhm--there has been a change of plans."
The hairs at the back of Sienna's neck raised up in alert and she could feel her tattoos slithering underneath her jacket.
Something was very wrong with the picture. Good thing she came prepared and those goons at the gate didn't even bother to search her. She smiled and casually turned around, placing her helmet on the seat of her bike.
"You should have told me beforehand--" When she turned back to the males, one of the guards was standing right in front of her, robbing her of her breath. She breathed in hard and as she wanted to step back, the male clasped his fingers on her arm, squeezing it painfully as he pulled her back to him. "What the hell--"
"Sienna--the ghost pusher of Achelion." The male standing near Hert spoke and Sienna saw the way Hert sank back into the shadows away from him.
She concluded that he must have been the boss. Ruiz was right about Hert. He had yet again fucked up!
"I am sorry I didn't have the time and privilege of knowing who you are." Sienna swallowed back a moan of pain as the male pulled her forward to stand right in front of his boss.
"Of course, you don't." The boss reached forward and caressed away a strand of hair from her face.
His amber eyes smoldered menacingly at her. His teeth glimmered in the darkness as a malicious grin appeared on his face. He had feline features of tawny and thick hair, a lightly peppered beard, and his black shirt was stretched out tightly against his thick torso. The skin that was exposed around his neck and under the folded sleeves of his shirt was sun-kissed which told Sienna that he loved the outdoors. She took a deep breath, allowing her nose to take in as much information about the male and his idiots as possible and it registered to her that he was indeed a beast, eighty-five percent Leo. The other fifteen percent could be another feline species. He was a large male and he would have been hot if it weren't for that sinister glint in his eyes.
"You thought to could pass as a broker under my nose when you are nothing but a filthy pusher." He drawled and the words slashed across Sienna's bravado.
Her eyes widened as she turned to Hert who looked down shamefully.
Hert must have found out about her and told that mass of a male about it. But why would he tell that male instead of Ruiz? What the fuck was going on?
"You are the infamous ghost pusher, aren't you? I must say, you have done an exemplary job keeping on the down-low...however I don't like it when people push in my turf without paying what's due." The male spoke.
Sienna swallowed hard and tried to revive the courage that had been smothered the moment he assured her that he knew who she was. "Ghost pusher?" she scoffed softly. "I don't know what you are talking about. I have been working as a broker for Mr. Hert and his partner Mr. Ruiz for the past year..." She jerked her chin towards Hert and added. "He can testify. You can check my records. I am not a pusher--" She groaned in pain as the male who was holding her squeezed her arm painfully.
"I think we are past the lies, Sienna. Make it easier for yourself and hand me my cut." The boss spoke and gave Hert a side look before adding. "For the sake of your boyfriend's reputation, do what you are told. If you don't, I will send him a file with your entire history...the last thing we need is for him to be involved in this. Now, I know you are searching for the Dark King's artifact as well. I want it as my payment."
Sienna felt dread settle deep inside her gut. She was always suspicious of Hert but at that moment she had proof that he was downright dirty. She wasn't going to be surprised if she discovered that he pushed several artifacts from their collection. He was a greedy male and had the audacity of looking ashamed. Sienna didn't want to get Ruiz involved in all that. She owed a great deal to him and the least she could do was to protect him.
"There is no deal tonight, is there?" Sienna hoped Hert saw how angry she was with him. If she was able to escape that place with her life, she was going to leave him with permanent damages that would remind him of her every time he saw them.
"Oh, there is a deal tonight. From now on, you work for me." The boss assured her. "Find what the Dark King lost and bring it to me. You will walk away unscathed if you do that."
Sienna sighed softly and dropped her glasses on the wet ground. "Uh--sorry. I am just a little nervous." She crouched down to collect it and the bulky mass clasping her arm, loosen his grip on her.
Immediately, Sienna reacted. She swirled around breaking away from the grip and swept the mass' legs from under him. He fell down with a thunderous sound. She grabbed the gun hidden under her jeans, on her ankle and her first bullet caught the other bulky guard between his eyes. The bullet ripped out the other side and blood together with chunks of his brain spluttered out and onto Hert's face. He dropped down like a bag of rocks as Hert yelped in surprise and disgust! As she turned to the boss, his leg flew across and painfully kicked away the gun from her hands.
"Fuck!" Sienna fell to the ground as she fidgeted with her blade on the small of her back.
The only warning she got from the boss was a roar before pounced on her. She managed to release her blade from her back and embedded it in his gut. His blood oozed out and coated the blade and Sienna's hands making it slippery so that she couldn't twist it to maximize the damage she did to him. He moaned in pain as she slashed his guts but Sienna knew it would not keep him down for a long time so when he rolled away from her, she went in for the kill, the sound of her bones rearranging so loud and sickening as morphing into the toothy Nymph with sharp claws and gleaming razor-sharp teeth dripping with the paralyzing poison she produced. Her white marble-like skin glimmered in the darkness like a beacon and her wings tore through her jacket and opened up with black talons terminating them, a clear warning to the enemy that she was pissed! Her eyes were as black as the starless night.
She aimed for the boss' exposed neck because she knew that the moment she delivered her poison there, he would not survive to see the next morning. She was ready for the kill but pain burst on her back and thunder clapped around her.
She groaned and turned around only to find Hert with the gun. He had shot her once on her left shoulder blade and when she exposed her chest to him, he shot her again on her collarbone. Pain seared through her body, dizzying her for a moment as she tried to recollect where she was and what she was doing there in the first place.
"Don't kill her!" The boss managed to growl. "We still need her alive. She is a good asset until I get what the Dark King lost."
Blood oozed from her chest as she tried to get up and flee but her wings wouldn't work because she was losing too much blood. She knew because of the wounds, her nymph would refuse to retreat to the back of her mind in order to protect her. The boss kicked her onto the ground and the guard that was sprawled on the ground grabbed her arm behind her. Sienna felt as if he was going to yank her appendages from their socket! More pain shot across her body and her vision slowly darkened.
The boss yanked the knife from his stomach as tossed it away then crawled over to where Sienna was fighting for her life. A sneer appeared on his lips. "If you think you are in pain now, wait until I am done with you, my sweet Sienna."
So much for my last job in Achelion. Sienna thought painfully to herself as she lost consciousness...
