THE EDWARD'S MANSION* { MAXWELL'S ROOM}

*EVENING' 9PM**

He sat down on his studying desk, with various pending documents to attend to

He scrolled through the files from the companies including the files from the Army College

Instantly Poppy entered into his room, with her nighties and a white bonnet for her hair

She rushed to him and hugged him from behind, and she pecked his neck and grinned hard

" Haven't I told you to knock before entering my room?" He asked

" And my replies has been capital letter " NO", you are my brother and it's not possible" She replied hugged him tightly

" You will choke me, let go" He said

Then she removed her hand  around his neck

" You are sometimes mean" She frowned and went to sit on his bed with her head bowed on her lap

He saw how she reacted, so he stopped his work and went to kneel down in front of her

" Sorry dear, I was somehow tired and I have many pending files and I was having a slight headache" He said

She rosed her head up immediately he finished his sentence, the look of worries appeared on her face

" Then you should have taken medication and rested, you have many employees why don't you give them the files, you don't have to do everything by yourself" She replied, and felt the temperature of his body but it was normal

" I have already taken some medicine, that is why my body is in it normal state, but I still feel some pain, but I will be okay and my employees are also busy with many things I'm just handling those files of the people I sacked" He responded

" And speaking of employees, I met Cindy today, the lady in those pictures on the news, her mother own a ice cream parlor, we went to buy ice cream and we met her, and she also got a new job, she is so kind and sweet and very pretty, her eyes was so charming" She said

" Hmmm, Actually I gave her the job, she will be the chief operation officer of our company and we bumped into each other today, she even thought I was stalking her and she is a troublemaker" He replied

" She is not, she is calm and friendly and I already love her, haven't you seen her eyes?" She asked

" That reminds me, her name " CINDY WHEELER "
sounds very familiar, she looks like someone I know before but I can't remember" He replied

" Really, maybe she is someone from your past I think, but I wish to see her again and that means I will come and greet your often at the office" She responded

" So just because of her you will come to my office but you never once came to visit me" He said

" You have been busy so I didn't come but she is there and you won't be busy anymore" She replied

" What do you mean I won't be busy anymore?" He asked

" Just wait and see I won't tell you, just get to know her and then things will be better" She replied

" Whatever, I need to sleep, I'm very sleepy" He responded and lay down on his bed

She switched off his light

" Sweet dream darling" She said and left his room

As he closed his eyes, he remembered when him and Cindy bumped into each other, he waved the thought and slept peacefully

DDAY, CINDY'S APARTMENT*

" HER ROOM**

She woke up as early as 5AM, fed bolt and took him to usual place by 6AM

She wore a white suit she got the other day, and a black shoe and rushed downstairs for breakfast by 7:15AM

She was to resume her work by 8AM

" Good morning mom?" She greeted

She quickly sat down, dished her breakfast and started eating

" Calm down, eat gently you still have some minutes" Her mother said from the kitchen when she saw her rushing her food

She slowed her eating but she was still conscious of the time

After five minutes she finished eating, she drank some water and carried her lunchbox

" Good bye mom" She waved at her mother and left

EDWARD'S- EMPIRE** { 8AM }

She walked in and went straight to the receptionist

" Good Morning Ma'am" The receptionist greeted

" Good Morning" Cindy replied

" You're welcome to the EDWARD'S- EMPIRE, you will be addressed at the same hall you can for the interview" The receptionist said

" Thank you so much" Cindy replied

" You're welcome once again" The receptionist said

Cindy beamed at her which she returned and she left

As she was walking through some offices before the elevator

People gave some cute compliments

Those sweet comments were passed to her, she smiled softly and entered the elevator

Inside the elevator some employees mumbled when they saw her

🫂 I heard from a staff downstairs that she came for the interview two days ago

Many more comments was said, she just smiled to herself

The elevator opened and she got off and went straight to the hall

As she got there, she saw the same older men

" Good morning sirs" She bowed her head in respect

" Welcome once again" One of them said

" You are so lucky, our boss picked you immediately he heard your name, you can start working on the 12th floor, our boss office is the only one there before but he decided to open the other office for you, so your office is beside him" The secretary said, as he entered the hall

Cindy looked back and bow her head down

" You don't have to bow your head down for me, we are all employees so we are equal" The secretary said

" And you are?" She asked

" I'm the boss personal secretary" He replied

" Sure and thank you" She responded

" I can now see what the boss saw in you" He said

" I haven't seen the owner of the company yet" She replied with a confused look

" You will soon know" The secretary said and left the hall

Cindy bow her head down for the older men and went straight to her office

THE 12TH FLOOR**

She greeted the receptionist immediately she got out of the elevator and a receptionist directed her to her own office

It was bigger than the once she saw on the other floor

Her name was written on a silver plate

She was full of joy, she took the plate and stared at it

" CINDY WHEELER, CHIEF OPERATION OFFICER" She screamed and quickly kept quiet for disturbance

She took her seat and stared at the beautiful view

His secretary came in after he was giving permission to

" Boss, Cindy Wheeler is here, she is already in her office" The secretary said

" Good, here are the files pending for her" He said pointing at the files

" You mean those files" The secretary replied staring at the folders of files

" Of course, what do you expect she is my assistant after me she is the one to handle this company so her work start immediately" He said

" Ok boss, I will tell her to come pick it" The secretary replied

" No you will be the one to give her those files, no one is allowed to my office except you and inform her not to come, she can pass any information to you and you can come to me after that, is that clear" He said

" Of course boss" The secretary replied

The secretary packed the folders and went out
