"Bye" I stutter through hidden sobs. I clutch Ember's hand in mine, her grip firm.
"See you in ten months" She sighs, the realization hitting us both.
"Ten months" I repeat with a slight smile.
"I'll miss you Roan. Don't get killed" She says with her usual attitude.
"I'll try" I say, pulling her and Fauna in for another hug. Sure Fauna has her differences with us, but she's still one of my best friends.
"Whatch over Will for me" Ember reminds. But I don't need her to tell me, Willow's practically the reason I didn't decline the elders offer. I graze my hand over her arm.
The last time I'll seen them for 10 months.
10 months can do a lot to a person. I say my final goodbyes and head out to the car where Willow is staring off into space.
"Ready?" I say, swinging into the open door and clutching the wheel. I might not be legally allowed to drive but I know what I'm doing.
"You okay?" I ask with worry, grazing her shoulder gently.
"I'm gonna miss them" She chokes.
"That's what you said when we leftEmerald" I point out.
"Don't you wanna see Xaz? And Aussie? Boa and Vice?" I ask, knowing the names will spark up memories.
"Come one Willow. Your an Earth weilder. You need to be strong okay?" My voice soft but informitive. She nods and I twist the keys to rev the engine. I can't help but smear a goofy grin at my waving friends. Ember's hands shoved into her pockets and doing a ridiculous jig with her feet. I let out a drone of a laugh and pull out onto the road. In a few hours we'll be there.
I pop a few maple Tic-Tacs in my mouth and mentally plan out what I'll do.

Find my room number.
Get my bands-one purple to show I'm in my second year, the other white to show that I'm an air nomad.
Go to my room.
Find Boa or Vice.
It seems like a good plan to me, but we are going to Emerald school of elemental witchcraft, so anything could happen.
