Song: Caught Feelings x Mckenzie Small
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I didn't want to respond to Daemon's statement about me still loving Angelo. Perhaps I still do and I've just kissed my once worst enemy. It was unfair and wrong to lead him on if I still harbor any feelings for Angelo.
It was too quick to say that I'm falling in love with Daemon. This warm feeling that I have just by thinking about it makes me shudder in fear.
Fear that I might end up choosing the man I never thought I'd see myself with.
I've seen all the movies and read most of the books about this kind of love. It goes way too fast and it doesn't end up lasting long. Love takes time. The past few months has been a whirlwind of emotions that I wasn't entirely sure that being with someone is the right path for me to choose.
But I am forced to choose and live with that choice forever.
Reality settled on me like a dark cloud. I'll be bound by my choice forever and I'd never get the chance to learn more about myself because my soul would forever be bound by the person I choose.
Before I knew it, I found myself back at Angelo's house with Daemon's hand at the small of my waist. He wouldn't meet my eyes and I figured that he had read my mind about my thoughts between him and Angelo.
"Finally you're here!" Brittany exclaimed giving me a tight hug before sending a glare towards Daemon.
"We have to pack up." she added.
My ears perked up when she said these words.
"What do you mean pack up?" I questioned her.
"Meaning that Daemon and I are relocating you, your mother, and the rest of our friends to a safer place." Angelo's voice boomed from behind me.
I turned to face him and my heart ached from remembering how he just broke up with me heartlessly. My eyes began to well up and my vision blurred. However, my pride refused to let me show any weakness in front of him. I took a deep breath and willed the tears that were threatening to fall and sent him a stony gaze.
I wanted to tell him that he didn't have any more right to tell me where me and my family could go because I no longer consider him as my guardian angel. However, I realized my response would be very immature.
"Where are we going to move?" I asked him crossing my arms.
"Somewhere still in LA but not a place that Medio Terrae would even know."
I looked at Daemon for any response to what Angelo has said to me.
"Medio Terrae has been planning to act on what happened with Minerva. They have been silent lately because they know how much power I have to kill them. It's safer to move you and your friends right now before they can do anything to hurt you." he merely told me, his voice void of any warmth unlike earlier when we were talking.
I nodded in understanding.
"I don't know how my mother would take it if I just told her that we need to leave." I told them both.
Daemon was about to say something before Angelo cut him off.
"That has been settled. We made her think that she will be taking care of a bedridden patient at the place we're taking you to."
"Let me just get some of my stuff and then we'll go." I informed them both.
I walked to the room on where I was sleeping for the past month. Although me and Angelo have broken up and lived in the same house for a month, I found myself not missing this room.
I no longer have a home. It's a painful realization that I didn't want to think about. However, it was inevitable since me and my friends are now running away from a cult that is dead set on murdering me, their own family in order to maintain the balance of power between Heaven and the Nether Realm.
There wasn't much I could gather. Most of my clothes that I took from home reminded me of the excuses I told my mother on why I'm always over at Angelo's house. She was so exhausted from work that she no longer pushed me for more answers.
With my duffel bag and backpack in tow, Daemon and Angelo led me to the car outside into the place that they consider to be "safe" for me until my 18th birthday.
I dreaded that day.
Ted and Daniel sat next to me so I was sandwiched in the middle while Brittany was sitting on Daniel's lap making him look uncomfortable.
"I know what you're thinking Daniel, I can feel it so you better stop now." Brittany gritted her teeth.
Ted laughed at this. A small smile crept to my lips. It felt good to hear my friends banter and laugh again. It was relaxing and it reminded me of old times.
I saw Daemon looking at me from the rear view mirror. Once our eyes met, he looked away facing forward instead.
Angelo was driving and he was looking at me through the rear view mirror. The intensity of his stare burned through my soul.
The car went to a stop.
"We're here." Angelo announced.
Brittany breathed a sigh of relief.
"FINALLY." she exclaimed as she bolted out the door and staring at Daniel in disgust. In return, he smiled sheepishly at her and wasn't even afraid of hiding the tent that formed in his pants.
Daemon and Angelo helped me getting my friends' stuff inside the new safe house. It looked like a regular beaten down apartment complex until they both led me closer to it.
The complex shimmered and it changed into a large mansion that I've only seen in the movies.
"It's hidden under the angel rune which is why only certain people like us can see this place. Don't worry about seeing your mother, we've kept her preoccupied with work long enough to prolong your stay as needed." Angelo informed.
"Thank you," I said to him not knowing what to say.
I spared a glance at Daemon once more and he refused to look at me in the eye. Perhaps he was still hurt that I didn't deny that I still harbored some feelings for Angelo.
The sun was setting when we arrived and they both rushed me inside.
After I stepped into the mansion, Daemon turned his back and began to walk away.
My heart dropped to my stomach.
"Where are you going?" I found myself asking him.
Daemon stopped in his path.
"Back to the Nether Realm." he simply replied before walking away again.
He didn't even say good night or goodbye which saddened me. I turned around and was about to enter the mansion before a stinging pain spread across my back and I fell to my knees groaning as the mark on my forearm burned.
I heard someone swore. Black spots begun to cloud my vision and as I laid on my side suffering, I saw the familiar emblem of Medio Terrae.
