Chapter 9 : Reinforced security

A few weeks and missions later, Mikoto had called Mitsuki to tell her about her wish. Itachi had left to train with his father, leaving them alone with Sasuke, who was delighted to see the girl again.

"So Mitsuki, Aruna told me that you want to become a doctor ninja. That's a nice goal, and it doesn't surprise me from you. Doctors are a great support in Konoha during missions or on the battlefield." enthused Itachi's mother.

"I don't know yet, Mikoto-san. I think I could be useful to my companions. They're all getting stronger by the day, and I wouldn't want to be a burden when I can't keep up with them..." Mitsuki explained sadly.

"You know, I don't know the other Genin in your team, but I'm sure of one thing: Itachi will never consider you a burden. And don't underestimate yourself, you will definitely become a great kunoichi soon! For now I will teach you the basics of medical Ninjutsu, and if you like it, we can go deeper into it. Itachi caught some fish this morning for you to practice on."

Mikoto conjured a scroll with a gesture and placed a first fish inside a circle in the center. It was barely breathing, and didn't even try to escape from there once it was free of any hold. She showed the incantatory signs to Mitsuki and reminded her:

"This Ninjutsu requires great control of your chakra. If you use too much, you can hurt or even kill him, if not enough, he dies too. You have to feel the energy in the palms of your hands, but also feel the energy of your patient in order to determine his injuries and heal him effectively."

After a few seconds of healing, the fish was full of life again and was twisting around to escape. Mikoto handed it to her youngest son, proud to be able to help, to put it back in the water and placed a new one on the scroll.

"Your turn, beauty." she invited Mitsuki as she gave way to her.

The girl concentrated on her will to heal the fish and visualized it calmly in her mind. Suddenly she felt a warmth in the palm of her hands, but to her surprise, the green chakra that was emanating from them went wild, sending the fish flying across the room.

"Keep control, it's already a good start to have mobilized this chakra" the mother of the family encouraged her gently as she put down a new fish.

Mitsuki took a breath and started again. This time she didn't flinch at the appearance of heat in her hands, and opened her eyes again to look for ways to help the inert fish on the table. A pain flared up inside her, and once again she sent the fish waltzing across the room.

"You felt the pain that was eating away at him, that's amazing. That said, it shouldn't be this sharp!" exclaimed Mikoto.

"It's really hard..." sighed Mitsuki, rubbing her neck.

"It is. But I know you can do it. Come on, get back in place." the Uchiha encouraged her.

Mitsuki repeated the maneuver again and again, tirelessly. She felt tired, sore, but didn't want to give up until she got a result. Mikoto was advising her and pushing her as best she could, when suddenly an explosion followed by a tremor sounded outside, cutting them off from their lesson. Shouts were heard immediately, alerting the older girl.

"Stay with Sasuke, Mitsuki. I'm going to see what's going on and look for Fugaku," Mikoto asked her, not losing her cool.

Mitsuki answered with a nod and took the little boy in her arms, before hiding in a corner. He curled up against her, his eyes filled with fear. She then whispered softly to him, hoping to soothe him:

"Don't worry Sasuke-kun, I won't let you go, and I'm here to protect you until your mom and dad come back."

The boy hugged her with all his strength and hid his face in her neck.

Outside, chaos seemed to reign. Mitsuki could hear footsteps moving in all directions, cries of fear and finally the village bell sounded the alarm. They were under attack. She held Sasuke a little tighter to her, her heart racing in her chest.
A second explosion sounded not far away, followed by new cries:

"FIRE! FIRE!"

Mitsuki finally grabbed the kid and decided to go outside to assess the risks. Outside, Aruna grabbed her, out of breath from running to help put out the fire a few buildings away:

"Go join the shelter both of you!"

"But I can help..." protested Mitsuki.

"The best help you can give right now is to look after Sasuke. Take him to the shelters quickly." insisted Aruna as he kissed the girl's forehead before heading back to the burning building.

Mitsuki hurried to head for Mount Hokage, where those who couldn't help were gathering, but a fireball erupted on another house right next to her, sending shrapnel flying in a wide radius. She crouched down to shield Sasuke and screamed in pain as she felt a stake freeze in her back. When calm returned, she pulled herself out of the rubble that had partially covered them, before removing the one that had injured her.

"You're bleeding ... " Sasuke worried, trembling as he tightened his hands on the tunic of his protector.

"It's nothing, don't worry about it." reassured Mitsuki, "Let's get you to safety quickly, Sasuke-kun!"

She continued on her way with difficulty, the ground shaking steadily under the crash of the explosions, and the smoke hindering her view. As she recognized the main street of Konoha, she soon found herself swept away by the panic-stricken crowd, letting go of the little boy.

"SASUKE-KUN!" she shouted repeatedly, losing her composure as she tried to walk against the current to find him.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she finally broke free, gaining height and desperately looking for the little Uchiha, who was nowhere to be found.

"Is this what you're looking for?" hissed a cruel voice behind her.

"Mitsuki-cha..." uttered Sasuke's voice before it was muffled.

The girl turned around abruptly. The man in front of her was holding Sasuke by the collar, one hand pressed over his mouth.

"Hm, well, a little Uchiha. He'll make a perfect trophy for my collection!" the stranger whispered, detailing the symbol on the child's back.

He was tall, strong, and covered in crude scars. His hair was short and white, his complexion was dull, and his eyes, which seemed to have no pupils, made him look even more frightening.

"And you, who are you?" he asked Mitsuki, running a long, pointed tongue over his lips.

"Let go of him," Mitsuki simply replied curtly.

"You give off strange chakra...and at the same time so powerful... Come and get it if you want it so badly!" the man laughed before darting up to a slightly higher roof.

Horrified, Mitsuki's red pupils shrank as her heart raced. She could feel her chakra bubbling up inside her, but she didn't care, she just wanted Sasuke back safely. She went after the man who had taken her hostage, a kunai to the boy's throat. As he made a move to hurt him, or worse, Mitsuki let out a shrill sound from her mouth, before throwing herself at Sasuke's attacker at a prodigious speed, sending him to the mat without him being able to react. Sasuke rushed into Mitsuki's legs, who didn't even look at him, still on the lookout for the enemy. This one caught his attention by emitting a guttural laugh, making Sasuke shiver.

"You then. You'll make a fine trophy for my collection!" he hissed as he stood up.

He looked at the girl, his tongue twitching once more.

"Interesting ... " he laughed as he saw the eyes now filled with red of the girl.

Mitsuki's breathing was jerky, the wind was rising all around her, encompassing the attacker who kept gloating at this rise in power. As he tried to attack them, Mitsuki raised a wind barrier with a shout, throwing him backwards once again. He laughed more and more, enjoying this unexpected difficulty that was in front of him.

"Mitsuki-chan..." the boy worried, never having seen her like this, sheltered between the legs of the young Genin.

The attacker spat out blood before moving closer again. He pulled back his cloak, revealing a multitude of tattoos moving across his body.

"You're right, kid. Let's have some fun!" he provoked before launching another attack.

This time, he dodged the wind barriers set up by Mitsuki and found himself facing her in the blink of an eye. She blocked his kunai with her own, but soon realized that she would not be able to resist with brute force. Still protecting Sasuke with her body, she started a fierce hand-to-hand fight, using speed and cunning, hoping to tire out her enemy, or to finally get the help of a Jônin. But nothing came, and she had to redouble her efforts not to let the man get the upper hand. Her speed was such that her assailant ended up clenching his teeth, giving up his carnivorous smile at the same time.

"Well, little one. Under this fragile aspect hides a real fury! I like you! But we have enough spectators as it is, and I can't afford to die today. I'll see you again!" the man whispered before disappearing, fleeing behind a smoke screen.

Mitsuki kept her position, looking for the man without taking into account Sasuke's sobs at her feet. Devoured by the adrenaline that consumed her, she didn't see the people behind the sphere of wind that she had unconsciously formed, like a shield.

Suddenly, a hand was placed on her shoulder, and she turned around abruptly, ready to fight.

"That's enough of that, Mitsuki," Fugaku Uchiha calmly whispered to her.

Mitsuki's eyes instantly returned to their normal form at the familiar voice, ending the barrier around them at the same time. The girl looked around for a moment, then at her feet as she felt small hands clasping around her calf.

"Sasuke-kun! Are you alright?" she hurriedly pulled him into her arms and hugged him.

"Stand back, Fugaku-sama." a voice ordered, pulling Mitsuki out of her relief.

Sasuke's father was now standing in front of her, with his back to her in a fighting stance.

"Fugaku-san..." she whispered, worried.

"Stay behind me, Mitsuki. Everything will be fine, don't worry" he ordered her.

"Fugaku-sama, I won't say it again. This is an order from the Hokage, you know what you'll get if you interfere." the same voice warned.

"I won't let you touch a hair on her head" Fugaku warned, to Mitsuki's surprise.

The man's pupils had turned into Sharingan, and his face was even more closed than usual.

"Very well. Since you've decided so."

Bursts of kunai could be heard, and Fugaku struggled to parry each weapon aimed at him. Mitsuki was amazed by his presence, his movements were even more fluid and precise than Itachi's, and not a single blade touched him, even a little. No doubt that he had not become the leader of his clan by chance!

Unfortunately, she was quickly pulled out of her admiration by an ANBU who had managed to get past the Uchiha's vigilance, and went behind the trio. Immediately, Mitsuki pushed Sasuke behind her to protect him, and watched as the masked man's weapon came inexorably at her, pointed right between her eyes. But with a deafening caw, a flock of crows interposed themselves, quickly replaced by Itachi who defended the girl and his brother.

"Why... " Mitsuki murmured, not understanding why the ANBU were attacking them.

The father-son duo was then joined by Aruna, Mikoto, and even Shisui, who surrounded the girl, leaving no blind spot.

"ENOUGH !" the Hokage's voice thundered.

The ANBU suddenly backed away, obediently, as the Uchiha closed ranks around Mitsuki.

"What does this mean?" the Hokage grumbled.

"She's lost control..." an ANBU informed as he bent his knee to face his superior.

"She seems to be in complete control," Hiruzen pointed out, glancing at Mitsuki.

"She came to her senses after Fugaku Uchiha's intervention. The guidelines were clear, Master Hokage. At the slightest trace of the Hata's power..." the ANBU explained.

"Fugaku... can you tell me why you and your family seem to be fighting against the Konoha Special Forces?" the Sandaime cut him off.

The Uchiha clan leader gritted his teeth before answering in a calm tone:

"Mitsuki was protecting my son from the Konoha attacker. It seems that she was also protecting the village from his actions with a barrier... while we were coming to help her, those people came to attack her back... Is this how Konoha thanks its saviors? Wouldn't it be better to pursue the one who destroyed our homes?"

"Fugaku, Mitsuki knows very well the price of using this jutsu..." the Hokage replied in an apologetic tone.

"She was protecting the life of a child, Master Hokage! My child's life! Besides, I thought her powers were sealed!" Fugaku raged, as the main character looked on in bewilderment.

An ANBU started to take a step towards him, but the Hokage stopped him with a gesture.

"With all due respect, Master Hokage, wouldn't it be more prudent to help Mitsuki master these powers than to try in vain to contain them? She lives in the Uchiha clan, we could all vouch for her and see to it that she learns properly" Fugaku questioned.

"No way," the Hokage and Mitsuki answered in echo.

Fugaku froze and gave a stern look to the girl behind him.

"On the other hand, given what you've reported to me, I agree to drop the charges against Mitsuki, just this once. It would be unwise to harm her while she was helping Sasuke. On the other hand, we'll have to strengthen the seal to prevent the episode from repeating itself..." the Hokage conceded.

"Thank you, Hokage-Sama," Mitsuki sighed, before falling over with exhaustion.

Mikoto rushed over to her.

"Fugaku, dear, she's hurt," she announced as she began to heal her.

As the ANBU disappeared, Fugaku took one last look at the Hokage, before carrying Mitsuki in his arms.

"Itachi, go back home with your little brother, we're taking Mitsuki to the hospital" he asked his older brother.

With a leap, he left the crowd, followed by his wife and Aruna.

"Thank you, Fugaku... without you..." he stammered, more than grateful that his clan leader had finally sided with his protégée.

"You don't have to thank me, Aruna. Without your ... sister, Sasuke would no longer be of this world. I'm sorry I misjudged her. She has more than earned the right to call herself a Uchiha... I promise you that from now on, all of us will take care of her." apologized the clan leader, with great sincerity.

Aruna smiled slightly, touched by this oath, while Mikoto wiped away a small tear of emotion that wanted to escape from her large black eyes.

"Thank you..." murmured Mitsuki weakly, who had heard everything in the arms of Itachi's father.

Once taken care of, Mitsuki's condition improved quickly. As long as she stayed in the hospital, the Uchiha took turns watching over her, never leaving her alone for fear that someone would come to harm her.

Mikoto was confused between apologies and thanks for leaving her alone with Sasuke on the day of the attack, and for putting her in such a delicate situation.Fugaku had totally changed towards Mitsuki, almost acting as a father figure now.Itachi and Shisui came by very often, sometimes accompanied by Soga and Tomomi who also cared about the girl after this chaotic episode.

Surrounded by all these nice people, Mitsuki felt her heart calming down. She was no longer alone, no longer completely rejected and feared, and all this esteem and love warmed her up to the depths of her soul.

One morning, Aruna was dozing in the armchair by the window of her hospital room, when there was a knock at the door. The Hokage entered, followed by the gray-haired ANBU who usually guarded the door of his office. Aruna instinctively stepped between Mitsuki's bed and the new visitors, defensively.

"Calm down, Aruna." the Hokage asked as he approached the bed, "I'm only here to see how your charge is doing."

"And he, what is he here for?" grumbled Aruna, tense.

"Hello Kakashi..." murmured Mitsuki softly, whose naivety made her older brother's teeth crunch.

"Hello Miss Hata..." the ANBU replied in a calm voice, ignoring the threatening look of the Sensei.

"That's three times our paths have crossed, Kakashi, perhaps you might consider using my first name..." teased Mitsuki, making him sigh.

"The young Hatake is accompanying me to strengthen the seal used to maintain Mitsuki's powers. As you know, Aruna, he too has the sharingan, and as a Copycat Ninja, he is one of the few men who can do it, but also one I trust enough not to hurt little Hata..." Hiruzen explained, "While we wait for Kakashi to do what is necessary, can I have a word with you in the hallway?"

Aruna hesitated heavily to leave Mitsuki, glaring at the young man who didn't move, then finally resigned herself to going out after the old man.

"Sorry, Kakashi, he's a little on edge..." sighed Mitsuki, who felt no fear as the ANBU approached her bed.

As he leaned over his face to look at his pupils, Mitsuki couldn't help but raise her hand to the mask that was covering the young man's face. This one stopped it of a sharp gesture, without leaving her eyes.

"You're far too curious, Miss Hata," Kakashi said, annoyed.

"Mitsuki...my name is Mi-tsu-ki! And for pity's sake, given the mark you're going to leave on me, you can call me by my first name. If you persist in not wanting to say my first name, I swear I won't make it easy for you!" the girl grumbled as she removed her hand from the ANBU's grip.

"I'd be curious to see that..." chuckled Kakashi, surprising himself with his provocation.

Mitsuki continued to stare into his eyes, a defiant look on her face.

"It seems that the Hokage's seal hasn't weakened at all, contrary to what we feared. I guess that as you got older, and more powerful, it wasn't enough to stop your powers effectively..." the gray-haired boy said, resigning himself to finally being more natural than he thought.

"I can't tell what happened, Kakashi-san. This is the first time... Sasuke was in danger and all I could think about was protecting him, and then it's a black hole..." Mitsuki confided, with a tone of regret.

Kakashi watched her for a moment, before confessing with an air of secrecy:

"A friend of mine once told me that "In the world of ninjas, those who don't respect the rules and break the laws are considered as less than nothing. But... Those who don't think about their companions... are even worse", I believe that this sentence applies exactly to your condition. You broke a vital rule for you, to help this child. And you saved him, Mitsuki... And a large part of the village with it. Let's keep this between us, but I believe this is what will make you an excellent kunoichi and if I had been ordered to be there that day, I certainly wouldn't have had the heart to execute you... Now, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to seal up this power that's trying to escape..."

Kakashi had said these words in a surprisingly benevolent voice. He had shed his usual phlegm, and had even allowed himself a confidence that went straight to the heart of the girl, although she seriously doubted that he would have gone against an order given by his superiors, the ANBU were certainly not known for their leniency.

"You don't have to apologize, Kakashi, after all, those are the orders" Mitsuki admitted sadly.

The Jûnin flinched, but quickly focused on the task at hand. He examined the seal in the young Genin's pupil once more and prepared the one he was going to place around it. He composed the necessary Mudras for his technique, and taking a deep breath, placed the seal in the girl's pupil.

The girl felt a sharp pain, and clung to the arm of the ANBU, digging her nails into his flesh. Tears came out of her red eyes, and her breath came in sharp gasps as she struggled to keep from screaming.

"Hold on, Mitsuki, I won't be long," Kakashi whispered without losing his concentration.

In the hallway, the Hokage invited Aruna to sit in a room away from eavesdroppers to tell him about the altercation between the Uchiha and the ANBU.

"Aruna, you know that since the attack of Kyûbi two years ago, the prestige of the Uchiha clan has unfortunately given way to the suspicions of the people, concerning its possible involvement in the return of the Nine-Tailed Fox... What happened with Mitsuki is not in your favor, especially since Fugaku, your leader, directly interfered with an ANBU unit of the Root. I don't hide you that Danzo is furious... He and the elders of the Council are behind the order I had to issue concerning the execution without warning of Mitsuki in case of trouble. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that Fugaku saved Mitsuki from a certain and completely unjustified death, given the situation she was in. But this puts the Uchiha clan in a fragile situation. I will see to it that the repercussions are minimal, but I would ask you to warn Fugaku of the risk he is taking by opposing those who run the village..." explained the Sandaime in the greatest of calm.

"I understand, Master Hokage. I'll report your words to Fugaku, and we'll make sure that no such incident will tarnish the Uchiha name again," Aruna promised.

"I hope that Mitsuki will not become a danger to you...her name, added to yours, is not in your favor, nor in her." sighed the Hokage, sincerely concerned.

"We took responsibility for Mitsuki, and none of us regret it. To this day, she's more of an example to follow than a danger to fear." Aruna stressed, still on edge.

"Alas, my dear Aruna, not everyone feels the same way," concluded the Hokage before getting up and leaving the hospital, leaving the Sensei in his thoughts.

He finally felt Kakashi's presence in the corridor, and waited for him to disappear to join his younger sister.

He knocked softly on her door, and entered before he was invited in. Mitsuki wiped her cheeks, pale.

"Tsk..." he hissed through his teeth, taking her in his arms to comfort her.

He couldn't help but feel angry for what she had to endure when she still looked so weak.Someone knocked on the door again, and a nurse entered with a tray.

"The ANBU who accompanied Master Hokage told us that Miss Hata was in pain, so I came to bring her the treatment to relieve her for the next few days, she will be able to go out tonight, provided she rests for another ten days. She has to recover before using any more chakra, or her body could suffer irreversible damage." she explained, before going out discreetly.

Mitsuki still had her head cradled in Sensei's neck. He left her like that for a few minutes before asking her gently:

"Do you want to get some sleep before you go home?"

Mitsuki shook her head slightly before murmuring weakly:

"No, please, let's get out of here as soon as possible."

Aruna then helped her up and supported her until they got home. As he laid her on the couch, someone knocked on the door. He went to open it, and came back with Itachi, Sasuke and Shisui, much to the girl's delight. Sasuke threw himself around her neck, making her grimace with pain.

"We saw you come in and Sasuke was anxious to come and see you," Itachi justified himself.

"Nice to see you again," Shisui said with a bright smile.

"I'm glad to see you out of that awful hospital room too! And I missed you a lot, Sasuke-kun!" rejoiced Mitsuki.

"They said that because I'm a child, I wasn't allowed to come and see you." the little one explained to her with a scowl on his face, "But I've been training hard with my big brother so that one day I can protect you too!"

"I'm proud of you!" the girl congratulated him, making him blush with satisfaction.

The four of them chatted for hours under Aruna's benevolent eye, who finally reminded them of the girl's need for rest.

A few weeks later, when Mitsuki was fully recovered, Fugaku invited her to join him at the training ground to practice with his elder and Shisui, before resuming the missions within the team 2.

He wanted to evaluate the strength of the young Hata, in spite of the seal which restricted her. It was clear that she needed to continue to train hard, but she had nothing to envy to the others, even to Shisui who used his Sharingan not to be overwhelmed. She was quick and flexible in her movements, deftly dodging her opponents to better counterattack.

"Those bells betray your position with every move you make, Mitsuki..." Fugaku pointed out.

She put her hand on her wrist and answered him:

"I know that...but I really want to..."

The Uchiha father sighed, then decreed that she would come to train alone with him once a week to improve her technique. Mitsuki thanked him so warmly, that she managed to get a half smile from the usually cold man. He left them to go back to his job in the Konoha police. The three youngsters sat in the grass chatting, exchanging stories about their missions with Shisui. In the distance, a group of girls passed by, giggling at the sight of the two Uchiha, and waving their hands at them. They ignored them, a little embarrassed by the situation that had become far too familiar for their taste, but a brunette walked towards them as the group continued on their way.

"Hi Itachi-kun, and Shisui-kun!" she greeted them with a smile.

"Oh, hi Izumi..." Itachi replied, a little too soberly for the newcomer's taste.

"I was thinking Itachi-kun...it's been a long time since we've been together...would you like to go for a ride with me?" the girl asked shyly.

"Uh...right now?" the boy asked.

"Yes! Come on, please, we hardly see you anymore! You're always busy with your team!" she reproached him and gave Mitsuki an accusing glance.

"Uh... that is..." Itachi started before she grabbed his arm and pulled him behind her, leaving him no choice.

He gave his friends a sorry look before reluctantly following Izumi.

"Well, what a Don Juan that Itachi is!" laughed Shisui, followed by Mitsuki's crystalline laughter.

"Yes, he already had his fan club at the academy. Izumi went to great lengths to get his attention." she said.

"She's an Uchiha, so she'd be just right for Fugaku-san," Shisui joked, before noticing her friend's discomfited face, "I was just kidding, girl! Come on, relax, it suits you so well to smile! Come, I invite you to eat! No reason that we are in remainder just because Mister Itachi has a date! " he proposed taking advantage of being able to spend a little time alone with the young girl.

She accepted without hesitation, feeling her stomach about to roar with hunger. They crossed the city with a light step and stopped in front of Ichiraku's house.

"After you, miss," Shisui invited her with a false air of chivalry.

Mitsuki passed him in front, tapping him gently on the shoulder so he would stop acting like an idiot. The teenager couldn't help laughing and took his place next to her. They devoured their dishes by remaking the world to them two. Shisui could not stop talking about his dreams of peace and Mitsuki drank his words, ready to follow him in each of his hopes.

The boy was amused by the girl's interest in him, not used to being in the center of her attention, Itachi usually never being far away. When they had finished, they returned to the Uchiha district, still passionately exchanging a thousand and one ideas to improve the life of Konoha.

As they arrived in front of Aruna's house, there was a hesitant silence. Shisui sighed, scratching the back of his head, and finally asked:

"I'm having a good time, Mitsuki, and I realize that we never really took the time to get to know each other... Would you like to extend our walk ... and our talk a bit?"

The girl nodded with a big smile, and they set off again through the streets of the Uchiha clan, late into the evening. Shisui ended up actually walking Mitsuki home, and left her after taking her hand and kissing it with a wink, making her turn slightly pink. While he was gone, she couldn't help but glance away, towards Itachi's house, when a crow came cawing next to her, bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Did you have a good day?" she inquired, only getting a second caw as an answer.

"Were you watching us? I had a good day too, Shisui is really a good person, I can see why you like him so much" Mitsuki said.

This one emitted a little more shrill sound, as if annoyed.

"I hoped you would come back, you know..." sighed the girl.

The bird gave a last cry, more lively, before taking off.

"Good evening to you too!" greeted the little Hata.

"You're talking to the crows now?" amused Aruna who had just opened the door when she heard her sister's voice.

Mitsuki blushed, feeling a little silly, and went inside, dodging her big brother's gaze. He was right, she didn't even know if this bird was from her friend or just a common bird of passage...

In the following days, Mitsuki returned to her team with her teammates who were amazed by her actions during the attack of the village, and her sensei, ready to take on new missions. They took on each mission one by one, with Tomomi sometimes reluctant to take on the D-rank missions because he was still overwhelmed with the desire to prove himself, now that he considered young Hata a strong rival.

As the months went by and they trained more and more, they were given more and more C-rank and sometimes even B-rank missions, testing their combat skills from time to time. They worked better and better together, using each of their skills.

At the same time, Mitsuki continued to learn the basics of medical Jutsu with Mikoto whenever she could, and followed assiduously the teachings of Fugaku, who didn't hesitate to push her to the limit. He pushed his training to the point of trying to teach her the Stick, and in particular the Supreme Fireball, as he did with each of his sons. She was far from the result obtained by Itachi, not being naturally familiar with this element, but the small ball she was able to produce would already allow her to take the advantage during some of her fights.

Fugaku encouraged her to persevere, noting that she was able to knead her chakra to transform it using different elements, such as wind. He wondered if she could use other materials, but it seemed that the seal in her pupil did not allow her to explore this hypothesis, just as it restricted her amount of chakra, preventing her from performing a larger attack. These observations regularly annoyed Fugaku, he who was used to ask always more to his boys, he regularly found himself in a frustrating impasse with this young girl with great potential. However, he didn't oppose the Hokage anymore, for the sake of his clan and Mitsuki. When he reached the limits dictated by the seal, he was content to deepen his techniques of hand-to-hand combat and weapons, improving his speed and physical power day by day.
