Akuma: Jury
In fencing, the jury is made of four people who watch for hits in a bout that does not use electronic scoring. These people have to watch for hits on the opposite ends of their positions, and call hits by raising their hands to inform the referee.
By the time the bell rang to signal the end of class, Alya was fuming. She had been glaring at Chloe for the whole lesson – watching her filing her nails and flipping her ponytail like nothing had changed. She had texted a few of her friends to meet her at lunch in the school courtyard. She hoped that Max, Kim and Luka would see the message – she desperately needed to talk to them.
Once the class was dismissed, Alya grabbed Nino's hand and dragged him out the door. She didn't let his hand go until they were sitting on one of the benches in the school courtyard. Alya saw Max and Kim walking down the stairs from class and waved them over. She scanned the courtyard again and saw Luka near the front doors, handing a lunch bag to Juleka. Luka saw Alya and headed over to meet the group.
Kim leaned over the back of the bench and asked 'what is so important that it cuts into my eating time?' Alya gestured wildly, 'What is so important!? She screeched. 'Chloe has gone too far this time! We have to do something about her!' Nino looked down at his feet. He knew that it would be impossible to get Alya to stand down when she was this worked up. Luka and Max looked at each each other and Luka shrugged. 'Alya, Chloe isn't worth all this drama' said Luka. Alya pushed her glasses back up her nose and grimaced. 'No, you don't get it. This is not just about Chloe. This is about my girl Ladybug. Chloe has taken us away from her and now she's all alone.' Kim's mouth gaped open. Max looked far less astonished, 'There was an 85% chance that Alya would figure out our identities. Though now I think about it, it's a bit obvious that you were up to monkey business Kim.' Kim reached across to grab Kim as Luka grinned.
'That's enough', snapped Alya. 'We are here to come up with a plan to get Chloe, not each other.' Nino sighed. 'Babe, don't you think Ladybug has punished her enough?' Alya glared at Nino. 'Don't you dare take her side, we have the same punishment and we didn't do anything wrong. I can't let this go' Alya held her tablet up with both hands and the group leaned in. 'I have an idea'
Meanwhile, in an atrium not so far away, Hawk Moth waited in gleeful anticipation. He had sensed the bitterness and anger growing among the former miraculous holders and relished the thought of sending out an akuma to test Ladybug's resolve. If Hawk Moth has learnt anything from the last battle, it was that there really was no power like a woman scorned – and teenage girls were much worse. Hawk Moth grinned and opened his hands. 'Fly, my little akuma and evilise them'.
The little group was so focused on Alya and her tablet, that they did not see the dark butterfly until it fluttered into the tablet and Alya heard Hawk Moth's sinister whispering. 'Ah Lady Wifi, I think it's time for Chloe to have a trial by the media'. Alya pressed her hands up to her temple and attempted to resist Hawk Moth. 'No, I won't fight Ladybug and I won't help you get their Miraculous.' Hawk Moth had anticipated this response and spoke smoothly. 'Lady Wifi, you misunderstand. I don't want the Miraculous. I want to see Chloe punished for her failures. I will give you power to get justice.'
Alya stopped her resistance and considered the offer. 'If I do this, I can't be Lady Wifi. I need people to forget what they saw.' 'Ah, Oblivio, then. But if the people forget, how will Chloe get what she deserves?' Hawk Moth questioned. Alya looked at the rest of the group through purple irises – 'I have everyone I need right here. Gamer, Silencio and Dark Cupid will be judge, jury and executioner. We will make Chloe suffer for her failure and in return we will take the memories of anyone who knows our identities.'
Hawk Moth was thoughtful(and a little impressed). It seemed thatusing Chloe may not have been as much as a failure as he originally thought. Thepurple moth's mask appeared around Alya's face. 'These terms are acceptable.'Hawk Moth smiled as the purple akumatising bubbles covered Alya and herfriends.
