Yoona: You're the only friend I have

Jimin: I know :)

"Are you deaf?" the woman's loud voice smashed against my ear.

My body jerked as my phone dropped to my lap.

"Who are you talking to?" my step mother questioned.

"No one" I answered timidly, moving my hands slightly to cover the device on my lap.

"I want you to go visit Mr.Kim and give him this" she ordered, her voice and eyes steady as she handed me some money.

"Okay" I nodded before grabbing my phone in one hand and rushing out of my room.

It was eleven in the night and most of the village would be sound asleep by now. No one is allowed to leave their abode after the clock strikes twelve, that is, during the dark hours. In other words, hour of the evil. That is when the witches took over, when the vampires got strong enough to break the sacred barrier.

I gulped as I set my foot out of the house; step mother closed the door behind me.

I looked back at the thick wood for a second before my attention returned to the buzzing device in my hand.

Jimin: Go back inside

I ignored the message. I had an hour to finish this little task, which was more than enough time. The house owner lived close by so I could safely get back home before midnight.
