The hit came 

harder than I thought. 

It threw me off the little island of hope I built for this year. It pushed me 

Into the dark empty abyss 

It took everything, almost swallowing my life whole and all that I cared about. 

It left me with only this sea of pain and misery 

Numbing me to almost this empty shell, lifeless and cold. 

It suffocated me, drowning me, dragging me into this sea with no one to drag me out. 

This time, no best friend was around to save me 

She left me here 

And never bothered to say goodbye. 

Instead she left me with lost hope
