You're my...
“Tell me...”
He took a step forward and steadied himself, his hands clutching my shoulders like his life depended on it. He inched closer and that's when I finally saw the tears swelling up in his eyes.
“What am I to you?”
“Rigel, let go--”
“Tell me!”
He's crying now, sobbing and mumbling incoherent and uncommon words under his breath while he looked at me with glassy eyes. I opened my mouth, but hesitation got the best of me. I mean it has been months since we last talked but I knew this would happen-- I knew we needed to talk about this anytime soon.
“Y-you're my...”
“I think I love her...” He confessed, gazing at someone from afar. I followed his stare slowly and saw a beautiful blonde-haired girl walking through the hallways.
I hid the love letter behind my back and tried to twitch my lips to smile, “Go get her then,”
He looked at me and flashed his infamous grin. He started to walk away when I felt my smile drop just as my heart and my tears.
“Could've been...”
“What do you want to tell me again?” He turned to me and asked, my inner coward self quickly taking over my actions.
“That I-ah, I like--”
“Rigel!”
We both turned to the guy who shouted his name. He walked over to Rigel and whispered something in his ear. Rigel slightly widened his eyes before pushing the guy away from him. He turned to me and said that he needed to go, “You just can text me.” He added.
I slowly nodded, “O-okay.”
“Should’ve been...”
“I love you, you dork.” I blushed and punched his arm, “Ofcourse, as friends.” He added while chuckling. He ruffled my hair and I masked the pain away by smiling.
“I love you too, you jerk...”
“But never was,”
I looked through the crowd and instantly saw him waving at me. Once I'm infront of him, he suddenly kneeled down. Tears swelled in my eyes.
He opened the box and said those four words I longed for in my entire life. I was about to squeak a yes when he stood up and smiled at me, “Is that okay?” He asked, my heart shattering once again.
“Huh?” I asked in confusion.
“I was rehearsing... Is that okay?” I blinked away the tears and smiled. When I opened them, I saw him kneel down before her and ask the same question.
“Y-yes..” She choked out.
I turned around and left.
“And never will be.”
She tossed the bouquet of flowers and suprisingly it flew right into my unsuspecting arms for an embrace.
