Pickle Provider: Seriously, how could you just ignore me all day? I was waiting for your message, and nothing. I thought we were supposed to be a team

Pickle Buyer: Oh, so now it's my fault? I've been busy, just like you. I don't need to explain myself every time I can't text back within five minutes

Pickle Provider: It's not about the time! It's about the fact that you're always so busy!

Pickle Buyer: Maybe you should stop making everything about you. I have my own life, you know. You don't own my time

Pickle Provider: That's not what I'm saying! But it feels like you don't care about me sometimes. Like I'm an afterthought!

Pickle Buyer: Well, you sure know how to make me feel guilty. I didn't mean to hurt you!

Pickle Buyer: I do care about you, but you need to trust me more. This constant pressure isn't helping

After Pearl had told her siblings what happened, a deep silence had filled the room. "Pearl Moon Dwyer..." Lizzie said, breaking the silence. "I know! Okay I fucked up!" Pearl yelled as she squeezed her emotional support pickle. "Well you better damn fix this before others find out about this" Grian said. "I would but she blocked me" Pearl said. "Oh damn" Martyn said. "You messed up" Jimmy said. "I KNOW!" Pearl yelled.

A few weeks passed and Gem refused to talk with Pearl when Pearl tried to talk with her. Until one day, Gem was outside as she read her book. Pearl went over to her and sat down next to her. Before Gem could get up to leave, Pearl stopped her by grabbing her hand. "Please?" Pearl asked. Gem sighs and nods.

"I know we've been drifting apart lately, and because we're not really talking about how we feel anymore. Or I guess I've not been really talking" Pearl said. "I know what you mean. But every time I try to bring it up, it feels like you just end up avoiding the conversation or brushing it off. I don't want to fight, but I also don't want to pretend everything's fine when it's not" Gem said. "I know...I don't want us to reach a point where we can't come back from it. I miss us actually talking about things, even the tough stuff" Pearl said softly.

The other sighs before speaking. "I miss that too. I think part of me is just scared of making things worse if I say the wrong thing and make you mad" Gem said. "I get that, but maybe we need to make space for those conversations in a way that feels safer for both of us. What do you think?" Pearl asked. "Yeah, I agree. If we approach it like we're on the same team, maybe it'll be easier to understand each other. I don't want to keep quiet about you not talking with me as much" Gem said.

"Mhm, I know I should start responding to you instead of putting you to the side. I promise to be a better girlfriend to you" Pearl said. Gem smiles and lays her head on Pearl's shoulder. "Okay, as long as you promise" Gem mumbled. "I promise, my pickle" Pearl teased. Gem bolted her head up. "ExCuSe Me?!" Gem yelled and Pearl bursted into laugher.
