Don't we love some Sausage angst? ;)
--
The town was bruning and he couldn't do anything about it. Their king, well he would assume now tyrant, had gone insane just for power. He couldn't leave his home, he just couldn't. This is where he grew up, this is where it was supposed to be peaceful and happy! Why was it all crumbling down before him like this.? It wasn't fair, not one bit! This couldn't be happening, not him, not now, no! The world had just fallen into a silence as his dream faded to black, the peoples agonizing screams and petrified faces carved into his mind.

Sausage was woken up by Hermes jumping up and down on the bed. He sat up with a groan and rubbed his eyes, Hermes grinning happily. Sausage couldn't help but smile at his son.
"The tickle monster is gonna get you!"
Hermes silently squealed and got off the bed, running out the door in excitement. Sausage grinned and got out of the bed, quickly chasing after the young boy.

Sausage was able to get dressed, eventually, and made breakfast for Hermes, his favorite even! Scrambled eggs, that was Joel's favorite. He wondered when he'd visit again, he sure did miss the god but didn't want to intrude on his business, it wasn't good last time he had done it. Joel was working on one of his massive projects, mastiff as the 11ft god himself, and he was using his magic. Sausage had to stay with Joel for over a month, and it was overly embarrassing. Sausage couldn't help but smile at how well Joel took care of him, it made him feel important, especially when a god gets worried for you like that. A strong one.
Hermes started eating quickly so he could go play with Lizzie outside, she was supposed to be babysitting him today.
"Buddy slow down, I don't need you to choke on your food"
He walked over and gently patted Hermes back, just in case he were to choke. Hermes leaned into his hand as Sausage ruffled his hair, Lizzie calling out to Hermes from the garden outside. Let's hope he doesn't come back as muddy as last time, or the last 'few' times. They were always going on adventures and Sausage found it quite adorable!
Sausage smiled as he saw his son and very good friend go over the hill to set off on their next adventure, now he was alone. Just like he was back home, just like he's never had an actual father figure besides the bunny like man. He loved him but he always had a piece missing. Hermes both technically had a mom and two fathers, more like 2 mothers and one dad. Sausage acted so motherly to his son, but he couldn't take that role away just like that, he was still a dad. Man did he wish he had one so he knew all the proper things a man should know.

The headaches were getting worse and his vision started to be mixed with a blur. It was so fucking hard to see and he couldn't even stand up without feeling the need to pass out on the spot. Holy shit this was pathetic, what would his mother think of him? What would the other Empires think of him? What would Joel think about him? He couldn't even stand up, he couldn't scream for help, he couldn't cry out. It was like he was stuck in his home of the burning building his mother once lived before she passed the year before. He had to get out of the house, it was gonna collapse, he couldn't stay here, he couldn't die alone! It terrified him, yet he couldn't move. He wanted to be free from the hard stone ground that was once grass, he wanted to feel the soft fur of the animals he had in his sanctuary. He wanted to live, he wanted to be alive. Was that so hard to ask for? Yes. All he got in return was him falling face first into the hard stone ground of his basement floor, blacking out before he knew it with blood running down his face.
The nightmares were real, the nightmares were an omen of yet to come, an omen of death, misery, screaming, fighting, arguing, restless nights, overdrive. He couldn't move, in his bed he lay, frozen as the clock on the wall slowly ticked back and forth, his eyes being the only ones to follow the movements. Why was it so hard to just simply breathe? Was he not doing enough? Was he not enough.?
He was in a bed once he had woken up, a soft one to be specific. The color combo made him chuckle as he realized he was in Joel's bedroom. It took a while for Sausage to even be allowed into his sacred room. Of course he had to be grateful, the god let him into his safe space and Sausage didn't plan to break that type of trust. Not out of fear but for his passion for the still young god. But then again the world had to fade to the empty blackness of the void. He soon heard the noises of the scream that cried from agony and searching for help, but Sausage just couldn't move, like he was a wooden toy or metal car that refused to work because of the rust that had settled in the nics and cracks that made it functional. He wasn't safe, he knew that, and he never would be, from the memories at least, from the terrifying moments after he had lost everything that was dear to him.
