Welcome to Empires of War, our tournament-styled competition which we run on a monthly basis! Anyone is free to enter, writers of any age, old or new are all welcome!

Here, we'll be pitting you against others of your fellow writers on Wattpad. But, it'll be genre based. That means that instead of submitting your book to us, and our moderators judging it straight from there, we will be categorizing your submissions into different genres and judging them individually.

If you're asking yourself why you should join, let us give you some reasons. Empires of War is run as such that you can compete against others but gain benefits at the same time! If you're an undiscovered writer waiting to get discovered, this could be a good chance to get yourself for some recognition! We believe that each writer deserves a chance to get discovered! Don't worry, for our moderators will be sure to judge each and every book fairly!

Also, the genre moderators will briefly tell you on ways that you could have improved your book, regardless of your placing! Whether you made it through to the second phase, or the finals, they will give you a brief book review on ways that you could have improved on, so that you'll have a better chance of winning in the next round!

You have a choice of submitting either a recently published book, an ongoing one, or write a new one whole! There will also be a genre that we will be introducing in this competition: Retellings! Yes, retellings of any sort, of any kind are allowed as long as they follow the rules and guidelines! Yes, those of you who are a reteller, your book will have its very own genre!

We encourage you through this competition to step out of your comfort zone in writing and to explore new genres! It'll also be a good chance to meet your fellow competitors, get to know them and share tips with each other! Maybe, even read their stories and you might find yourself inspired by one of them, or discovering that it's a really good book which deserves to be discovered!

Still not convinced? Well, more benefits are to come, and it is located on the 'Criteria and Prizes' chapter! We will be judging the books that have made it to the finals over that criteria, so here's a tip for making it there: write your chapters to the best of your ability for the first two phases and polish up your whole book. The benefit there is that it automatically improves your writing and editing by just those actions! Plus, there are good prizes to be won!

Keep in mind:

-Read all rules and follow them.

-Your book can be new or ongoing. However, it must not be completed or close to completion.

-No submissions that are R Rated, in the Romance or Teen Fiction genre are allowed.

-Don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions at all!

-Moderators may alternate and change from time to time.

-Please read every bit of information of Empires of War. It sounds annoying, but this is to ensure it runs smoothly.

-Sometimes, a moderator may be running on a hiatus. We will then request you to submit your book to the 'backup' moderator of the genre. If you have already submitted your book to the first moderator, re-submit it to the backup one.

-Fill out the submission form appropriately and correctly.

⚜️HOW IT WORKS⚜️

Empires of War will be open around two weeks before the start of a month. This gives you time to submit your books, so that we may start promptly. Submissions will be closed at the beginning of every month, and late submissions will not be accepted.

Make your submission on the chapter 'Moderators and Forms'. Our moderator of the genre that you are submitting your book on will then review and reply to whether your submission was accepted or denied. Bear in mind that if they are not able to do so, another moderator will reply. They will then add your book to a reading list that they have created on their account to keep track of your book.

If you have been accepted, congratulations! You may now proceed onto Phase I. If you have been denied, don't fret! You can still re-submit your entry, it's probably because you didn't read the rules or that your book is not eligible.

Phase I/First week: The War Trials
Within this week, you must write and update your book with a new chapter twice with a minimum word count of 800 words in total. That means that if you were to combine both of your chapters, they would total 800 words. If you do not complete this requirement, your book will not make it into the next phase. The moderators will then judge the quality of writing and decide which books will make it into the next phase.

If you did not make it to Phase Ⅱ, please wait for a month before re-entering again.

Do not begin writing until Phase I begins. This is on the first week of the month. This is so to keep it fair to all participants.

Phase II/Second week: The Empire's Rite
Within this week, you must write and update your book once with a minimum word count of 1200 words. The moderators will once again, judge the quality of writing and make their decision on which books will make it into the final round.

If you did not make it to the Final Round, please wait for a month before re-entering again.

Do not begin writing until Phase II begins. This is at the start of the second week of the month. This is so to keep it fair to all participants.

Final Round/Third week: The Imperial Throne
If you've gotten this far, congratulations! All you have to do now, is sit back and hope for the best! The moderators will then sift through the new entries, as they judge, this time, your book as a whole. They will judge your book based on a criteria listed on the chapter 'Criteria and Prizes'.

-You must be following us in order to enter. This is also so that you can keep up with our news and enter other contests.

-Add the tag #empiresofwar and a genre tag which will be listed on the 'Moderators and Form' chapter.

-If you are submitting a published book, it must have a minimum of four published chapters, not including the Prologue.

-Fill in the form located on 'Moderators and Form'. If you submit your form via pm or any other chapters, it will be ignored and deleted.

-Submissions and books must be in English.

-Be polite and patient. These things do take time.

-You may only submit one book. If you have submitted multiple entries, they will simply be ignored and deleted.

-Please tag the genre's moderator in your form so that it will be easier for us to know that you have submitted a form.

-Include your favorite genre somewhere in your form so that we know you have read the rules.

-Tag three or more people you think would be interested to join!
