" NOW ... "
"Now we're watching camera 17." A sweet voice rang out as Oslo Blane stood beside Dante Wallace and Daisy Wallace; the president and his granddaughter. The voice belonged to Daisy, who was only a happy six year old that was thrilled to show her new friend what she saw as the presidents granddaughter. "Personally one of my favourites, I watch a lot of the guards on this one."
Oslo chuckled, ruffling the girls darker hair as he watched the camera flick to another hallway where he saw Clarke Griffin lurking around the medical bay. His chuckles dimmed as he narrowed his eyes to make sure it was really her, and when he saw the blond hair and the bleeding arm, he knew it was Clarke with trouble up her sleeve. "Thank you Daisy, but I must be excused, Clarke seems to need some help."
Daisy waved goodbye as Oslo left the office and walked towards where medical was. He and Monty had been taken to mount weather before the rest of the forty six had arrived. He had been discharged from quarantine first, and was given the tour of the underground facility, mainly by Daisy who had too much trust in strangers.
When Oslo finally made it to the medical center, he waited outside of the door until Doctor Tsing let him in, claiming she knew he just wanted to sit beside his friend, and would keep her out of trouble. She had been given a sedative, something that Oslo would be wishing he had rather soon.
Curiosity would be the death of Oslo Blane, and he knew it.
On the ark, his mother would tell him that. He always wanted to know more, he wanted to explore, he wanted to know what he saw and why it was happening. So one day, after secretly following behind Kane and Chancellor Jaha, he had learnt that the children in the skybox would be sent to earth. He was curios as to why the two had been sneaking around whenever he saw them, and unfortunately was caught with information he should know. Which ultimately landed him in solitary confinement and sent to the ground with the rest of the criminals.
His eyes landed on the patient beside Clarke, who was hooked up to some kind of machine that was pumping clean blood into his system and filtering out the bad blood that had been contaminated by radiation. The red blood was being filtered in by a space in the wall, something that made Oslo even more curious as to what was happening. Clarke had ripped out her stitches on purpose from what he had been told, someone believed it was an attempt to harm herself because she was having some kind of breakdown. But he knew Clarke, from before he and her had even been sent down to earth. They knew each other.
She didn't do it on purpose. She wasn't crazy. She knew something was wrong.
So Oslo followed his gut and walked along the area as he followed the line where he assumed the blood was coming from. His spine tingled as reached a door he knew he shouldn't touch, it was bolted shut and looked like it held many many secrets. When he stepped away, a vent only a head taller than him caught his eye.
"Awe man." He muttered, because he was desperately hoping that he wouldn't have found anything and he couldn't have to keep looking. But now he's seen it, and he has no choice but to continue now. "Fuck."
Pulling the vent door open was easy, pulling his body though the vent wasn't. He wasn't a big fan of small spaces, so when he reached the other side he let out a sigh of relief. Or that was until he stood on aching calves from the tunnel crawl, and saw the sight he was wishing he didn't.
Grounders were hung upside down as blood drained from their body. Mount Weather was using the grounders blood to help filter out the toxic radiation filled blood many of the others caught after exposure.
And what furthered the curiosity that would kill him, was the cages and cages of grounders that he could see.
"Oslo." A voice whispered and he whirled around, coming face to face with Clarke, who was in a yellow hospital gown and blood trickling from where her iv needle had been. "What is this?"
Oslo was wide eyed as he ignore Clarke and turned back around, taking small steps to where the cages were. He moved down the middle, stopping at one cage where a familiar looking person was. He crouched, placing his hand against the cold metal. "Anya?"
"FOXX ... "
"No!" Monty cried out as he threw his hands up, sighing in defeat when Foxx grinned at the sight of the Green boy. She had just won against him at a game of checkers, something they had once, by total accident played together on the Ark, many many years ago.
Foxx giggled as she moved the pieces back to their original starting spots, and she waited for Monty to make the first move, a large grin never leaving her lips.
"Did you figure out what happened?" Jasper asked from his seat beside Monty, the question straightforward to Maya, who had neared them with a book to her chest. "Maya?"
"I spoke to some of my friends and colleagues, and they told me the two had just snapped." Maya sat beside Foxx, handing the girl the book she had been holding, a gift. "They had been caught sneaking around and doing some ... sexual acts ... and when they were caught Clarke just started to freak out and started to pull at her stitches when they guards tried to move her back to the dorm. Apparently Oslo had tried to protect Clarke afterwards and went all crazy."
That was far from the truth, but Maya was just telling them what she was told.
And did Jasper, Foxx and Monty believe what they were being told.
No.
