" ANAKIN ... "
He was mad, furious at his partner, Lincoln. He had been sent by his sister, Lexa, to observe the sky kids along side Lincoln. The two knew each other, and Lincoln had no problem welcoming Anakin into his home — unfortunately, Anakin had learnt that Lincoln had a fascination with one of the sky kids; Octavia Blake.
That's who they — no, just Lincoln — were carrying back to the cave both of them had been living in.
Lexa would be beyond furious to learn that her own brother had aided in kidnapping one of the sky people, or that's what her brother believed at this moment. What Anakin didn't know was that the flares sent on the same day as Octavia's taking, a village burnt down and Skaikru were responsible.
Anakin watched as Octavia, the girl who was slung over Lincoln's back, weakly pushed her head up so she could see her surroundings. To her surprise, she came face to face with Anakin, who was covered head to toe in his attire that kept his face and body hidden away. The sight scared Octavia, sending a shiver down her spine, and the girl letting out a gasp as she wiggled and attempted to slide away from the person carrying her. Her attempts had worked, yet she had landed on her feet, the pain in her injured leg flaring, causing her to yelp out in pain and collapse to the earths floor once more.
Anakin eyed Lincoln, who shot the girl who clutched her leg a sympathetic look. He groaned at his 'partners' action and decided that he would take it into his own hands now, he would simply knock her out and drag her to the cave if he had too. He couldn't just leave her now, and he could get the answers as to why they were here and in his land.
"You need to be quiet." Anakin spoke, his voice ruff and thick. "Or I will kill you."
Ah, yes, the all mighty threat. Anakin would indeed stick to his words — he always has and always will.
Octavia squeaked and her doe eyes widened. "What? No, no, no ... please! I won't tell anyone —"
Anakin chuckled, a smile making its way onto his face. "That is right, you will not."
And then he hit her over the head with the handle of his knife and she fell limp against the front of Lincoln's legs.
"She would have been quiet." Lincoln said as he picked the girl up and swung him over his shoulders once again. He would carry her the rest of the way back to the cave, where he would then lock her to the wall to stop her from escaping again — and if he didn't, oh how pissed Anakin would be.
Anakin was already pissed, steam leaving his ears in a cartoon fashion to show it.
Anakin whirled around to face Lincoln, his gaze hardening. "We both know she would not have, not with her people out there."
" NO ... "
Octavia yelped as she woke from her sleep, her hands tugging on the chains that kept her in the cave. She looked around before her eyes stilled on the figure against the wall. — Anakin leaned against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest as he watched her attempt to escape. Her tries nothing but failures.
"Please, I - I won't say anything!" Octavia blabbered as she cried, her free hand furiously wiping her tears as they fell. The person who hadn't threatened her was no where to be seen, which made her much more scared. She was being left with the cold eyes of something who looked like they wouldn't hesitate to kill. "Please! I just wanna go home."
Was the drop ship even her home? Her brother was so mad at her, was he still her home?
Anakin only tilted his head.
"I know you speak english. And - and that you and your friend saved me. Please, just let me go." Octavia pleaded with the grounder, was he even a person? "I just wanna go home."
"I did not 'save you'. You are only alive because you have gained that persons attention and because I need answers. Now, please be quiet." Anakin leaned and closed his eyes, his fingers fiddling with his mask that rested in his lap.
Octavia seemed to calm down, her chest moving much slower as she backed as far away as she could. "Okay..."
He groaned, remembering that Lincoln had asked him to make sure she was given water with the correct medicine for her wounds — Lincoln would no word of a lie, kick him out if he didn't listen. And he couldn't go back to polis yet, not before he knew everything that he could. "Are you ... thirsty? I have water here." He hated playing this person he wasn't. The one his sister had told him to be; careful and obedient to what Lincoln told him to do.
For a minute, Octavia belived that he had a change of heart. She eyed the water that was in the his hands. The cup was metal, it looked worn and had a chip in the top. She had all the reason to believe that it was poisoned, that this was how she would die. "It is poisoned, isn't it?"
Anakin tilted his head. She would make a fine warrior, she just didn't know it yet, but Anakin could see it. "The water is not poisoned. It is from the other one, his gift to you."
"Drink it." Octavia tilts her head, a sudden boldness growing over her as she eyes the person in front of her — correction, the grounder in front of her.
"Fine, you bratty child." Anakin mutters and knows that the girl can't understand anything. He brings the cup to his lips, letting the cool river water flow. He then moved forward once he's down, smirking when he watches Octavia scoot further against the wall to get away. He places the cup of water on the ground and moves back to sit against the other side.
It's quiet for the next while. Lincoln is gone, making sure that the other sky kids were thrown off their trail. He would have let Anakin do it, but he knew that he would have killed anyone who got in the way.
Anakin is fiddling with some rope he found hidden away, he ties a knot in any space available, just to pass the time. And then he takes out Lincoln's sketch book, one that had been passed throughout generations of grounders. The edges are worn out, and the cover is torn and has no colour. He looks though the pictures, finding one of the girl that sits on the other side of the cave.
"Why did you come to earth?" Anakin asks, and waits a few more moments until he tilts his head and gives Octavia a dark look that tells her she needs to answer.
"We were sent here because the Ark, the space station we lived on, was running out of air. Our lives were expendable."
Anakin nods and flips the page, finding a drawn picture of another girl, who's planting something in the earths soil. "What do you know?"
"Nothing." Octavia replied, and essentially, that was true. She grew up locked away in her home, knowing only what her brother or mother taught her. She has little skills, and she knew nothing about the grounders besides their like to kill. "I know nothing."
Anakin slides the book towards Octavia, so she can look at it. It has no secrets, just drawings of places she would never see. Or so that's what he believed. "Are there more of you to come down?"
Octavia reaches forward and gasps, placing a hand against her injured leg, as she moves her palm away, she finds red coating her fingertips. "My leg." Anakin tosses her a role of cloth that she can use. She attempts to wrap her leg with the cloth, but with both hands chained together, she can't do it. "I can't."
So he takes his knife out of its holster, places it in the fire and waits for it to heat up. He shouldn't waste that on her, knowing that it could just bleed through the cloth he gave her. He could cauterize the wound, just like all of his other people have had done to them. What made her so different? When the metal is orange, he grabs it and walks over to Octavia.
She attempts to back away, she screams, she does anything and everyone but he's stronger than her. He placed the hot metal against the wound and listens as her skin sizzled. Pulling the knife away, he slides it into his holder. "Oh, you are fine." He knows she can't understand him, but he speaks anyways as he wraps her leg in the cloth to help keep it somewhat safe.
Lincon heard her scream so he rushed back, only to find her leg wrapped. He forgot to do it himself. He's glad that Anakin had done it, knowing that he would have rather let her suffer and bleed.
Octavia knocks Lincoln out when he goes to inspect her wound. She used a rock that she had managed to get her hands on. Anakin takes his knife out once again, and goes towards her but he's pushed to the ground and knocked out with some kind of weapon; it was Bellamy who did it.
Lincon wakes up before Anakin does, and he stabs Finn, one of the delinquents, with a poisoned covered knife.
