Chapter 2:Battles Awaiting

Somewhere in the world, an child was playing with their pet turtle as the TV started acting up, and then the reptile started slowly scurrying around, seeming more lively than usual. The television set then started buzzing loudly, and Quinn winced as it did. Toto, being the small but intelligent turtle it was, noticed its master's slightly annoyed expression and waddled over on his little legs toward Quinn. The boy saw this after his ears adjusted to the static and laughed a little, gently patting Toto on the shell. While an more shy turtle likely would've hid in their shell, Toto was anything but shy as it made some noises in an attempt to amuse the human, which succeeded.

Elsewhere, on an island guarded by three slumbering beasts, an lone egg stirred, its first thoughts overwhelmed by the prayers of the island tribes. By pure instinct, the Larva pulled back from the prayers to not be overwhelmed. It took a few weeks for Mothra to get adjusted to their telepathy, and they didn't even detect their chosen Guardians yet.  Once it got better control over its mental powers and began "talking" to Infant Island's residents, sadness nearly overwhelmed the young bug as it realized its people had failed in their mission for world peace. And yet, it could detect a slowly knitting unity borne through fear. During these weeks, it had gotten flashes of memories and emotions from past lives, such as when it was surprised to learn of the Pangean Manda's death, and even more surprised by the ingrained knowledge of such a creature. So Mothra then used telepathy to touch the mind of Baragon, who was as willing to serve the still-unhatched Kaiju as always, Varan, who was skeptical it was truly Mothra, which some part of the Larva found to be humorous, though it would have to figure that out later, and Angilas, one particularly wizened Anguirus who thought of this new Mothra as merely a child, albeit one that needed guidance. For now, this would have to suffice, and the Light Larva was all too willing to let its past allies aid it in gaining knowledge on itself. But as the new Mothra built a new and unique bond with each Guardian over the following months, they all noted it -She? Mothras always reincarnated to be female, according to the Larva's friends. Perhaps Battra, whoever that was, would know if this was true. Why did that name tug at its...Maybe her... mind? Either way, the Guardians told the egg-held Kaiju it should have already been able to clearly remember it's past existences. The fact Mothra could not seemed to greatly concern them, and even put Baragon in a foul mood for several weeks, during which it had emerged to vent by patrolling the island. This drew attention from military forces that were from..somewhere the Light Egg's only denizen did not know of, and Infant Island's natives could not force out the armed soldiers. However, the lone Guardian was plenty of motivation for them to flee, despite the Kaiju's refusal to attack. Mothra felt rather proud in that moment, and Baragon burrowed back underground for now. The Larval Kaiju almost felt uneasy and definitely worried when the Priestess it could most easily connect with decided she needed to leave and inform the United Nations of Infant Island's deity returning.
