Chapter 31
Ashton's PoV
This is fucked. All fucked. I couldn't wrap my head around any of this. Earphones has severely messed with my head. I showed her my true self, opened up to her and showed her my feelings - although I didn't know it was her - and this is how I get treated? Okay, so I flipped out at her when I found out it was her but only because I felt betrayed. I'd finally found someone to trust and be honest with, someone who only wanted to help me and it turned out to be her.
I flung myself onto my ancient bed, the wooden planks groaning under my weight. I wasn't even heavy, but it'd had enough wear over the years that it was about to give up underneath me. I desperately needed a new one but the funds I was saving from work were solely for my university studies. I really needed to follow my dreams and get out of this rut.
How was all of this so difficult and complicated? I thought maybe I could get past that mistrust, to forgive her and carry on but then she moves on straight away and dates that girl? I had poured my feelings out and it didn't even bother her? She could have told me that she wasn't interested or that she was into girls but she got my hopes up and smashed them just like Amber. I never thought anything would hurt me like Amber did and yet here I was, sitting in my room feeling angry because I let myself get upset again. Why did I keep doing this? I was a grown man with a bad reputation and I was on the verge of crying like a baby? Those words would never have crossed my mind before. These people have made me weak. I needed to get my mojo back and I needed to prove myself now.
As I sat up, the bed groaned again, creaking as if one of the wooden slats was about to snap. I grabbed my phone and dialled Calum.
"Hey man." Calum's voice sounded tired and croaky, as if I'd woken him. "Are you okay?"
"That plan for Sirgani. Let's do it today." I didn't bother with pleasantries.
"Ash, it's already ten. What did you want to accomplish before speedracing tomorrow?" Calum was trying to talk him out of it but it wasn't going to work. He was going to show them, all of them, just how much of a badass he could be.
"If you're not helping then get off the fucking line. I've got other people to call." I snapped as I hung up, counting to five before he called back.
"Old Ashton's back huh?" He chuckled. "I'm in."
"Good. I've got an idea to find out Sirgani's address, then we roll. Get into the house and beat up anyone who gets in our way. Grab Sirgani and take him to the old boarded up factory and keep him there." A smile grew on my face as the words left my lips, a feeling of pride filling me. I was back. I could turn this crappy feeling into anger and use it on Sirgani, make him wish he'd never been born.
"Alright man. I'll let the others know. Let us know the address and we'll meet you there. If we turn up separately it'll be more of a surprise." I didn't bother to answer, just hung up and got myself ready before opening my laptop and video calling Hannah. She was so desperate to have me she'd do anything I asked.
"Ashton?!" She answered one surprise, quickly sorting her makeup out in the mirror beside her. "What a surprise!" She gleamed, desperate to show how attractive she was.
"Listen, I need a favour. Do this for me and you'll be next on my list." Her face lit up instantly. The idea of screwing me was a lot more important than any morals she could grasp. She nodded before I even told her what I needed. I explained to her that I was pranking a friend, I needed her to act like she was in trouble and get his address and as soon as it was proven to be correct, I'd bang her. Simple. She was more than happy to oblige.
I dialled a number that I had gotten from a different girl ages ago. It was apparently Sirgani's but she was never a trusted source, I gave her the reward anyway but we weren't entirely sure it was true.
"Hello?" A man answered the phone and instantly I recognised it. It wasn't Sirgani's voice which was disappointing but it was his brother, Dean. Memories flooded back of our fight in the park because he had assumed I was there to hurt earphones and suddenly, I wanted revenge on him too. I sent a message on the video call to warn Hannah that it was Dean and not Sirgani. I held my phone, now on loudspeaker, to the speaker of my laptop so Hannah could hear clearly.
"Dean? Is that you?" She sounded desperate, her acting almost perfect.
"Who is this?"
"It's Eva. I'm in trouble, Dean. Ashton's after me. Please! I need to stay somewhere else. He came into my home and-" she broke down into a sob. Even I was almost falling for it. "I borrowed this phone off of someone in the street. Please you've gotta help me!" She cried some more. I poised my pen above the paper, waiting excitedly for his response.
"I told you not to mess with those pieces of shit." He sighed, almost disappointed. "Come to my house. Sirgani and I will look after you. My address is-" My pen scribbled furiously before I hung up the phone, leaving him in the dark.
"You'll be handsomely rewarded for his Hannah." I winked at her before I shut the chat down and text the address to my friends.
This was it. The plan we'd been patiently waiting to put into practice. We were going to get Sirgani for everything he'd done to me. He'd never be the same again and frankly, neither would I.
