Once period 3 ended, you were speeding to the art room where you knew Tachibana would be meeting you. You grabbed an art pencil and an eraser too, your sketch book was already in your bag and you waited. The primary reason that Tachibana and yourself were meeting here was because she was little terrified of the second years. You didn't understand but you didn't deny her request, only going along with it to make her feel better or to make it easier for yourself - which ever it was, you only went with the flow indecisively.

The art room was empty, you allowed yourself to almost melt within the walls of the room and you waited by a desk with a shaky breath. You didn't really understand why your nerves were all over the place when thinking about what you were doing. But it made sense because this was never something you'd actually do voluntarily. It was a little bit scary, if you were being honest. There were people you didn't know in the volleyball club and they were all familiar with each other but you were going to be the intruder.

The thoughts rattled your mind wildly, making your hands tremble and your eyes widen, buzzing around the class to find something that may calm your nerves. The pencil tightened in your hold, moving slightly as the moisture that built up in the creases of your hands and you couldn't help it when the bag beside you was ripped open, snatching out the sketchbook to find a fresh page inside.

Your hand shook, touching the paper messily as you made small scribbles and then your eyes found the sight of the sun on the trees right outside the window. Your eyes moved with the breeze that took the branches and the leaves left and right and back again and your hand simultaneously followed the movement, leaving the paper for a second before finding another spot for the lead to continue its own drawing.

After who knows how long, the door was slid open. It was softly pulled and you didn't turn around. Maybe it was because you didn't hear the door open. Maybe you were so entranced with the sight before you - one that you knew everyone else would call hardly mediocre - that you hadn't even realised the lurking boy behind you, opening his mouth to speak before catching the movement of your hand, your slouched body when you sat on the desk behind you and the way your eyes unblinkingly stared out the window like you were trying to capture and memorise the most exquisite image you'd ever seen.

He didn't make a sound. He almost did, opening the door without a care as he wanted to be noticed right away. Instead of making a vocal sound though, his mouth was only hanging open slightly as he swallowed his words. He stopped when he thought he may get caught but he felt his shoulders sag in relief when you didn't move from what you had been occupied with.

He watched with wide, curious eyes when you hadn't moved a muscle apart from the way your eyes shifted rapidly in your sockets. He saw your eyes moving from the way you sat with your side facing him, observing half of your face looking away so fiercely that he had been rendered helpless, to the point where all he could do was watch like a child watching the stars.

He noted the way your hands convulsed lightly but when he focused, he could actually see your own hands shaking and it wasn't because of the fact that you were drawing, your hands; white knuckles and clenched fist were also quivering for some unknown reason.

He took another cautious step forward and made sure that he made no sound but he wasn't sure if it would actually make a difference. He was slightly relieved to find you in here, he wasn't sure why but the art club didn't seem like it was that without you, he was right near you now, close enough to get a glimpse of what you had been working on but also not too close so that he wouldn't get caught. He was about to speak up, acknowledge you and allow you to be aware that he was beside you, possibly without unintentionally startling you. He was going to compliment your work with two pink cheeks and an intensely beating heart but then someone else made an appearance.

"[Name]-chan! I knew I'd find you here! Eh? Who is this?"

You blinked, flinching slightly to look behind you, "Oh Minami-kun. Sorry, I was distracted."

"You didn't even acknowledge me~!" Oikawa whined, stepping inside as he invited himself while Minami took a step back, frightened with pink cheeks to which Oikawa got a good look at though he hadn't said anything, "Oikawa-san, why're you here?"

He tilted his head a little and towered over you, the light of the sun softly hitting his face to pronounce his features in a way that had you almost wishing you could paint him, a feeling of want coming over you which lead to the indescribable desire to have the volleyball captain sit on the desk you were on so that you could bring out your oils and a fresh canvas.

Minami saw the way you looked at him, looking up at him and to the second year male, the both of you could've been a couple if he didn't know you. Minami observed the way the beautiful colours of your eyes seemed to almost glow when you analysed the features of the third years face and he answered with a smile, completely unfazed to your stare as you knew he had experienced it a lot before, "I'm going to take you to the gym, of course."

You caught the way his eyes scanned the room, he wasn't good at being subtle and you figured he was looking for something that he could feast his eyes on, "Oh, well I'm waiting for Tachibana-san. She said she'll come with me." Oikawa nodded and walked forward slowly but you stopped him, standing from the desk to go in front of him and Minami held his breath when he watched the scene before him play out, you stepped before him and he gave you a confused stare. He watched in a foreign type of curiosity when you spoke lowly and Minami almost didn't catch it.

"Please.. sit there for a moment..." Oikawa did as he was told, smiling when you kept your body facing him, stepping backwards two steps and out of the suns light when Oikawa was facing the windows while you watched the way the sunlight touched his face, brightening up his features and you analysed him before raising a single brow when he raised a brow too, grinning smugly as he leaned back a little, "You want to paint me now, right? Please, feel free to do so. I have time."

Minami rolled his eyes, "You have practise now." He muttered under his breath but it was only heard by Oikawa, the male narrowed his eyes for a second before recovering and you were completely oblivious.

"I.. I would like to paint you.. actually."

Two of their breathing stopped but only one of their hearts dropped. Oikawa adored the slight pink in your cheeks but he could've been imagining it when the light on your back caused a slight shadow to cast over your face, he couldn't help the immense joy in his mind and he grinned, ignoring the door being knocked on slightly as he had already left it open, "[Nam- Uh-" Tachibana saw the stare Minami gave her, annoyed and disheartened, in disbelief after hearing what you had just spoken so softly and earnestly.

"Minami-senpai.. Oi-Oikawa-senpai.." She uttered the two words under her breath and she caught your eyes, "You can have this instead Oikawa-senpai. As much as I'd like to paint you, I refuse to. At least not until I really know you."

You grabbed the sketchbook from the desk that you put down and flipped back to the page you finished in that short amount of time, ripping it out slowly so it wasn't ruined and you handed it over to him as he watched in silence, Minami's mouth falling open as he stuttered over his own thoughts, "Your cheeks are really nice, Oikawa-senpai. Your eyes are nice and wide, young and brown, glowing with a certain aura I wish I could describe. I wouldn't even be sure I'd be able to do it on a canvas."

He lifted his hand slowly, unable to grab the paper when he was listening to your soft-spoken words so intently, hanging onto every word like he'd never hear it again - he'd probably be really lucky if he did, "The colours I need to represent you would be entirely different from what I'd usually do but I couldn't because I know there's more to you than what you allow others to see. A lot more. Your hair is really attractive, different from what I've seen at school and your jawline is one I know women would fawn over a lot." He saw your hands moving ever so slowly, towards him and it looked as if you were yearning to touch the features you describe so badly that you just couldn't.

"Your neck is long and athletic, in a way, it's beautiful. You're a beautiful person, Oikawa. But it's only the beauty on the outside that I see as of now. Your lips.." Your voice dropped an octave and it was only two people in the room when you spoke to him. He listened, almost leaning in and he was completely hypnotised to every word, "They are.. they have a gorgeous shape, your smiles aren't nice though."

He grew startled, backing up as if you'd offended him and he watched with furrowed brows when you sighed like he was a lost cause, "Your smiles, I'd need them to be genuine. That's why I'd like to give you this and we'll see you at the gym." When you noticed he still hadn't grabbed the paper before him, you placed it down on the desk and looked up at the girl, "Tachibana, are you ready?"

She nodded, red cheeks adorning her face while her eyes looked at anything but you. The sketchbook with a ripped page gone had been grabbed from the table as you walked away with that and your other equipment.
You didn't glance at Minami, he just stepped out of the way when you bid him a farewell and you didn't hear Oikawa when he stood up quickly, his cheeks as heated as a furnace when he glared at the doorway that you had just walked through to leave, "That damn woman.." Minami almost choked on his breath, stifling his laughter at the sight of a deep red blush upon his senpais cheeks up to the tips of his ears.

Tachibana was quiet the whole way to the gym. You didn't question it because you rather preferred it. Perhaps you said some things that you shouldn't have but it was already said and done. You were outside now and the sunlight warmed your shoulders so contently that you could've stayed there, in that single spot by the gym.

The same yells and squeaky shoes were heard, slams made when a hand met the ball and you were a little frightened to make an appearance so suddenly even though you were granted access the day before. When you stood out the front of the gym, you knew that the more you thought about it, the more you'd regret coming. More negative outcomes would overtake the positive ones and it would in turn send you beck to the art class with nothing to do but to wallow in self-pity by your lonesome.

"Oh.. [Name]-senpai, you just got here?"

Turning at the voice, you werent sure whether to feel surprised or not to find that it was Kunimi standing behind you, a water bottle in his hold while he stood idly with his sports attire on. You looked at him and he didn't say anything about it when he greeted Tachibana too. She nodded in reply and then the both of you followed him with your eyes until he stopped again at the door, "Come inside then.."

You moved on through, passing him as he held the net open for you and Tachibana. At the new arrivals, the members of the team saw you and began speaking amongst themselves, some more louder than others. Yours eyes wondered through the court, looking to the lines on the floor to the balls that were thrown around near the walls of the bleachers. The huge net that was hung in the middle of the court and you also caught sight of a bunch of girls at another entrance, opposite of the one you came through and they spoke among each other with smiles but when they caught sight of you, they seemed to visibly quieten down with hard looks in their eyes.

"Hey, you made it. And you as well, Kunimi."

"You actually came Kunimi-san, I was starting to think you'd skip again." Kindachi approached you and Kunimi as the boy beside you gave the other first year a bored look. Iwaizumi had left the court to greet you and then he held his hands on his hips when he gave a hard glare to the door, "And the captain of the team isn't even here, what a shitty person."

He shook his head disapprovingly to himself and turned to the players as they began to slowly circle around you and Tachibana, "This is [Name]-.."

"Oh, [Lastname] [Name], my apologies." You bowed, "I'm a second year from the art club, please don't mind me." They greeted to back, but you heard some of them mutter to themselves, "She's not gonna be a manager..? Damn.."

"Is.. there somewhere I can sit?" Iwaizumi nodded, pointing over to the bleachers and the boys only looked at you quizically, all looking at each other with the same thought in their mind, 'She's pretty simple.'

You made your way to the first row of the stands. Placing the bag down beside your feet and Tachibana sat beside you quietly as she watched the guys speak with each other quickly before retreating back to the court and the net was pulled open again, loud, girly screams grew in the gym and you looked to the entrance to see Oikawa walking through, immediately smiling and winking to the girls as they swooned from the attractiveness of the third year male.

"Oh, they're his fans, how nice.." Tachibana heard you, looking at the side of your face when you watched the interaction between the captain and the girls who hadn't stepped into the gym. They all stayed in groups at the entrance, "He must be really popular, [Name]-senpai... I'm curious.."

"Why's that?"

She twiddled with her thumbs in her lap and lowered her voice, too nervous to look you in the eye when she managed to gain your attention, "I was wondering.. why don't you m-maybe, draw Oikawa-senpai? Y-You said he's... be-beautiful... an-"

"Tachibana.. Did you not hear me in the art class? I won't draw someone like... him.. He.. He- it doesn't matter." She stared in awe when your cheeks turned a light pink, it was almost unnoticeable.

"Ah~ [Name]-chan, you're here! I feel so excited to play while you watch!" Oikawa walked to you, sauntering to you with a grin on his pretty face, "I put your drawing in my bag, it was so amazing, [Name]-chan, I'll treasure it!"

"Uh- Oikawa-senpai.. please move out of the way. I'm here for Kunimi-san."

He gaped and you moved your head to see Kunimi on the court, watching you and Oikawa before scowling as he stood beside Kindaichi, "I've lost... to Kunimi-chan..?" You saw his posture slouch over and your eyes watched his every moved. When he turned around to leave after he felt defeated but stopped when you spoke his name again. Softly yet calling for attention as he immdiately appeared in front of you with a huge smile, almost genuine and you almost wished you could've stuck that image to the walls of your brain to remember it.

"Don't frown... or walk like.. that, Oikawa-senpai. It doesn't look nice."

His eyes lit up and he had nodded eagerly to your request, almost skipping away before he halted again, turning around slowly when you leaned over to grab your sketchbook and a pencil, straitening in your seat while flipping to a new page when Oikawa's voice was heard again. He didn't speak loudly as if he wanted to be heard by his team mates and you ceased movement when his voie reached your ears.

His voice was smoother now, soft and light with a touch of concern or questioning. He took a small glance to Tachibana and she stayed quiet, looking down to her lap though her ears were severely aware of her surroundings, of his voice, "Your drawing, even though I've only seen one of your art pieces, it was different."

"For the third time, senpai, it wasn't mine."

As of now, you weren't entirely sure why you kept denying it. It was yours, the one that was displayed in the hallway but you didn't necessarily want to admit it was yours. You didn't want to accept the fact that he really did feel something as he stared at the art work like it was a rare gem. It wasn't fair that a person like him; flirtatious, charismatic and immature was able to see past your colours and saw what you felt every day.

It was like he wasn't even breathing, you looked up and your eyes widened, "I don't believe you." He spoke with a devotion that had you breathless for a second, you didn't understand how he could pull so many emotions to his face to be portrayed, he was such a colourful person and it frightened you. He was so expressive and independent despite the constant whining he delivered to his best friend and vice captain.

"The lines were shaky, the leaves were - they were all over and they looked - well, I don't know, really..." You stared at the way he almost looked hopeless, smiling nervously and he chuckled to himself, a hand being raised to rub the back of his head as he leaned his weight on one side, "Maybe that's good. Stay ignorant to it, Oikawa-senpai.."

He grew irritated to your voice, listening to it as if you were patronising him and his brows furrowed when your eyes found Kunimi again, watching as he huffed quietly to himself, completely reluctant to spike the ball as he did so with little to no power at all.

"I won't... I'm already interested, [Name]-chan. I want to see your work."

"You're annoyingly determined, Oikawa-senpai, good luck at practise. Can you tell Kunimi-san to come here when he isn't as needed in the practise."

Oikawa knew that was it, you weren't going to talk anymore and by the look on Tachibana's face, he guessed that she was surprised by the amount of talking you voluntarily did and his back was tense when she watched him leave to greet get punched by his best friend, Iwaizumi.

Kunimi strayed within the back of the team, near the lines and he occasionally called for a ball when he saw a simple opportunity. You noted that he sort of kept to a 'bubble' where he only moved when it was necessary and you noted that he often took small, energy conserving breaths. He never let anything really get to him even though this was only practise. His facial expressions didn't say anything but you also saw the way his eyes would harden when he perhaps missed a spike or when the ball landed where he didn't want it to after hitting it.

Kindaichi was often around him, you deduced that the two were close - perhaps they came from the same middle school because of the friendship between them. It didn't matter how little his emotions showed, Kindaichi could still talk to him and know what he was thinking, it was a relationship that you knew you'd possible like to have but alas, people just didn't find your aloof personality appealing.

A whistle was blown and then Kunimi took that opportunity to walk off of the court, he walked towards you with a calm demeanour, looking away as you stared at him the entire time, watching the way he moved. The way his muscles showed through the shirt he wore and how his neck moved when he turned his head, noting the sizes and shape of his body when he finally sat beside you, opposite of the seat Tachibana was in.

"[Name]-senpai, I'm sorry about Oikawa-senpai.. He's really annoying..." You saw how he stared at Oikawa, the boy had been holding a water bottle as he commented on something Iwaizumi said, getting hit by him as another male; most likely a third year by looking at his height and build, with messy black hair and thick eyebrows stifled a laugh with a more pronounced upper lip.

A boy beside him also laughed, holding his arms to his stomach as he leaned forward to have the sound echo a little in the gym, he had light brown - almost pink-brown hair and you also guessed he was a third year too. His hair was short and he had slightly beady eyes, you'd see them properly if he actually looked your way.

"You find him annoying but you also look up to him, right?"

He looked at you, indifference on his face and he didn't answer, he knew that you were right and you were aware of it. Without having to communicate, his eyes held a certain aspiration to be like him, or that he was thankful towards his senpai. You weren't too sure but you came to the conclusion that Kunimi respected his elders.

"Your calm.. I'm.. not sure how v-volleyball works but I think that's yo-your.. weapon."

You felt so pathetic for stuttering, talking with others wasn't your forte. Hopefully Kunimi had already figured it out, "I think it's how you save energy.. Maybe.. in actual games yo-you save it- your power for the later parts of a game.."

"I do. I don't like loud or sprightly people... They annoy me. I don't really like 'going all out.'"

His answers were simple yet informative, he was facing you yet he still glanced to his team when they spoke with each other so comfortably, he caught Oikawa looking at you multiple times but he didn't comment on it - at least not yet. You held the paper in front of you, it rested in your lap while the pencil edge touched it softly, it was already covered with small doodles and he didn't look until heard a lack of sound from your mouth.

"...I..."

He looked up from the paper, Tachibana caught the sight of his wide eyes, it looked as if he had seen something indescribably stunning and he let you continue with a forced sound, as if you were relying on large amounts of energy to actually formulate the words in your mind to speak, "I said it before but.... I really don't want to be a disturbance to you-"

He had began shaking his head before he started talking, "No, no - senpai, please it's okay. You don't have to apologise. I have something I'd like to ask though, if that's alright." His dull brown eyes never strayed from your now, though they were ample when they met yours, causing your to mirror them when you didn't know why he looked so stunned, "What is it, Kunimi-san?"

"I'd... I want to see your other work."

"My most recent piece is at home, I'll try to bring it tomorrow, you can come to the art room at lunch.. I guess."

A small twitch of his lips enticed your interest and you tilted your head, "Does that make you satisfied? Content?" At your words, his smile was gone but his eyes seemed to be glowing, "You only watched me from here when I was on the court and you already drew something amazing, I'm a little bit.. excited for see what else you have, [Name]-senpai."
