Emma
I'll Write Our Song
for emma sacra
Ohhhh I'll stand by your side
Even when you die
I'll never let you go
Ohhhh even when you get lost
Don't worry I'll get lost
With you, you
And I'll write our song
Emma, I know things
Won't go my way
Emma, I know, but I'll try
To get you to stay
And I'll write our song
Write it forever
Ever
Ohhhh I don't mind your flaws
Because we all
Have them sometimes
Ohhhhh there'll be no cries
Only your eyes
Starin' at mine
And I'll write our song
Emma, I know things
Don't always last
Emma, I know, but I
Still want you bad
And I'll write our song
Write it forever
And ever
When I finished the letter I looked up outside. Nobody was there. All I had gotten was a brief knock at the door and a piece of paper addressed to me.
Someone likes me. A lot. But I don't even freaking know them, so how am I supposed to tell them what I thought of the song?
"Emmy Emmy Emmy where are you?" Jenny yelled from inside the house. I was still staring at the grass when I felt my little sister's hand yank my braid.
"It's time for dinner. Wait, what's that?"
"It's nothing, Jenny, give it back!" But she snatched it and began to scan the scrawled handwriting.
"The guy loves you. I wish I knew someone who loved me like that." She began to sob and I internally rolled my eyes because Jenny was always comparing herself to me. She's lucky to not be in a wheelchair.
"I love you. Mommy loves you. Daddy loves you. Josh loves you. Everyone loves Jenny Sacra." I smiled and held my hands open. She sat on my lap and snuggled in my arms.
"I love you Emma," Jenny mumbles.
"Love you too," I whispered distractedly, glancing back outside.
Who wrote the song?
