Chapter Thirteen

*Three Weeks After Last Chapter*
Raph and I stood to the side, watching the girls spar. Shadow was clearly the best, though she had background training. Kristal was also pretty good, she was doing awesome with the nunchucks Mikey gave her. Melanie seemed to have her head in the clouds. Maybe giving her a dagger was a bad idea. Shadow fought with a blaster that had two settings: stun, and kill. Don't get her mad, because that thing hurt. Her and Casey spent a lot of time in the barn improving the Hot Rod, so I barely ever saw her anymore. Kristal and Mikey seemed to be getting along well too, and Melanie spent a lot of time with Don. I think they like each other...hah. Leo watches over Alisa, who is still unconscious. He feels as if it's his responsibility to make sure she's alright, as he was the one to untie her. Raph and I are in charge of boot camp, which is fun. The two of us had also been secretly dating for a week. It felt good to piece my life together again. I focused my attention on the sparring match. Melanie was lamely dodging Kristal's nunchucks.
"Mel, get your head out of the clouds and focus!" I yelled, making Raph snicker. She seemed to become more alert and swung at Kristal, making her jump back in fear. Shadow took her chance and shot Melanie in the arm, on stun, of course. We don't let her put it on kill because I'm pretty sure we'd all end up dead in a matter of seconds. Now Melanie was out. She walked past me towards the barn.
"Where ya going?" I asked.
"Going to go hang out with Don." She called back over her shoulder, and Raph and I looked at each other. He smiled.
"Kissy kissy." He murmured, making me laugh. Meanwhile, Shadow and Kristal were having an all-out war. Kristal flung her nunchucks repeatedly at her while Shadow nimbly dodged them, occasionally shooting darts at her. Did I mention that the gun doesn't use bullets either? Again, don't trust her with killing material. A dart finally hit Kristal's arm, crowning Shadow as the winner, again.
"Nice." Raph called, and Shadow smirked.
"I try." She called back in reply.
"Well, that's it for training, guys. Go do...umm..something." I yelled, and the two of them walked off.
"So. I think I'm gonna go check on Alisa." I said, but Raph caught my arm.
"What?" I asked, and he looked at me, almost sternly.
"You've been checking up on her a lot. I never really get to talk to you anymore. What's wrong?" I looked away from him, and sighed.
"Nothing. I'm fine." I lied, continuing to stare at my feet. I had awesome silver combat boots, and a new white cloak I got from my friend Raven. Her and my other friend Terra missed me, so they sent me the cloak from Rae, and a clasp with a blue stone only found in Markovia from Terra. Terra grew up in Markovia, a little European country.  Both of their gifts were really pretty, and it made me sorta homesick. I missed my friends, and my late brothers.
"You're lying." He knew me way too well. I sighed.
"I'm just feeling homesick, I guess. I don't know, whenever I'm visiting Alisa it seems like all my worries sorta just melt away."
"I know how it feels, kiddo. Trust me on that." I knew he was being honest. It was weird. It was almost like we could feel each other's emotions. Creepy, right?
"Yeah. I...I just hope she's gonna wake up. It's been three weeks, and..."
"I know. We gotta trust Don. He knows what he's doing." I nodded, and got an idea.
"Wanna come with me this time?" He nodded.
"Sure." We walked toward the barn in silence. Nothing, though, could brace me for what lay inside.
