Chapter Sixteen.

[ notes/ thank you so much for being patient ! <3 sorry this is a filler chapter haha, but we're getting a cameo of one of my favourite characters !! ]

All the paperwork had been filled out, Haizaki Ryouhei would be joining team Raimon. His his motivation was to defeat Outei Tsukinomiya for the sake of both his team and his close friend in the hospital. You had been the first to accept him, then the rest of team came to terms with his wishes.

You were rather happy to have him on the team, honestly. . .

"Here's your new uniform! Go ahead, put it on!" Ootani chirped, handing over the kit to Haizaki. The grey haired male looked down at it for a moment.

"Oh, right. . ." He mumbled, before taking off his blazer and pulling his dress shirt over his head. All the girls had looked away, Mansaku placed his cap over Norika's eyes and Hiura immediately covered yours with his hands.

"H-Haizaki you can't just do that-. . ." Asuto slowly slouched over in his place.

"[L/n]! Don't look!" Hiura's eyes glinted in determination, he'd do whatever it takes to spare your innocence.

"What's going on?" With your brows furrowed, you tilted to the side - getting just the smallest glimpse of shirtless Haizaki. Your face immediately burnt up.

"I-I said don't look. . . !" Frantically, Hiura tried to save the situation by pulling your head against his chest. You didn't make any complaints this time, and buried your face in your hands.

"I'm so sorryyyyy," you whined.

"It's okay. I'll protect you." How dramatic, Hiura.

". . . What's up with them?" Haizaki frowned. He was oblivious.

After welcoming Haizaki to the team graciously, you'd all decided to visit Michinari due to your earlier request. They'd all agreed it was a good idea to see their captain - so while Ootani and Anna went off to get him a gift, you went along with the boys and Norika to the hospital.

As soon as you stepped into the lobby, millions of flashbacks hit you like a prevailing wind. The months you spent in your room, the few times Nosaka had taken you out, and running around after the adults. They were good memories, despite everything.

"[L/n], what's the matter?" Asuto placed a hand on your shoulder and you slightly jumped in response. "O-oh sorry! Did I scare you?" He pouted.

"No, not at all! I was just spacing out." You waved your hands in dismissal with a small giggle. "Uhm, you guys go on ahead, I'll meet up with you in a minute."

"Sure!" Asuto chirped with a bright smile before joining up with the rest of the group. You waved them off before taking a different elevator. It'd been months since you returned back here, there was someone you wanted to see. . .

After stepping out of the elevator, you carried on down the familiar hallway. Your eyes lit up at the familiar glass office room you'd always run to if you had a nightmare. With a soft smile, you rapped a finger against the glass pane.

Your old doctor had looked up from some paper work. The young doctor that had the skills and education to cure pretty much any patient. Yourself included.

Though, to you he was just Jin - someone quite like an older brother. Without wasting any more time, he pushed back his office chair and rushed over to you, immediately squeezing you in a hug.

"There she is! I knew you'd come back for me at some point!" The raven haired male jested with a bright grin.

"Of course I would!" You breathed out, trying to pry him off of you.

"How have you been?" He finally let go, taking your wrist to lead you into his office. You happily obliged and followed after him, taking a seat on one of the spare chairs as he went back to his own.

"I've been very good!" You placed your hands in your lap. "Raimon has been really well to me, and I've made a lot of friends."

"I'm glad." Jin's green eyes softened at the sight of you strong and brave again. It almost felt like yesterday you were a child and clinging to his doctor's coat - refusing help from all the other nurses.

"How about you?" You curiously peered over to see what he was writing. They looked like complicated documents you wouldn't be able to understand with just one look.

"Busy as usual." He sighed, "oh yeah that reminds me." Suddenly placing his pen back down and turning to you, Jin spoke up again, "by any chance did your parents come after you?"

"I-. . ." You went silent for a moment before nodding.

"I wasn't allowed to try saving them after the fire since you were put in my care - so I didn't know if they passed or not. . ." His voice went soft. "They came here not long ago asking for you, but I'm not allowed to give out information on discharged patients to anyone-"

"It's alright. I understand." You had to stop him before he started crying at your feet or something. "I know it wasn't you who told them where I was, you don't have to feel guilty."

"Easier said than done, kiddo." He jested. "Anyways, asides from that. I did find a way to get you into Raimon's dorms with the rest of your team if that's something you want."

"R-really-?" You nearly hopped out of your chair.

"Yeah, it shouldn't be too hard." The raven simpered.

"Thank you so much!" This time you did stand up and bowed your head.

"H-hey, you don't have to thank me. It's alright, [Y/n]."

"Oh, sorry." Awkwardly, you straightened up and fixed your hair. "If there's any way I can repay you then please don't be afraid to ask."

"Actually, there is something you can do for me." Jin snapped his fingers before standing up as well. "There's a new patient, it's a little boy who used to play soccer. He got into an accident and can't move his legs anymore." He placed a hand on your head. "Cheer him up for me, would'ya?"

"Of course!" You clapped your hands together. This was probably the easiest favor you could do for someone, and maybe you'd make a new friend in the process. Jin escorted you down the hallway and into your old room. You passed him a short glance before quietly walking inside. It was almost like you could have seen yourself sitting on that hospital bed, scribbling at blank sheets of paper in your lap.

The young boy had a novel in his hands, his hazel eyes worriedly glanced over to you. His hair was dark, navy blue. There was a little beauty mark at his chin, which had quickly made you smile to yourself.

"Hi there." You shyly waved to the young male.

". . . [L/n]-san!" His eyes lit up, the boy had quite a soft, gentle voice. It broke your heart such a sweet thing was stuck here all day. Then you were confused as of to how he knew your name.

"He watches you on television with me a lot." Jin had gently nudged your shoulder. Ah, so that's it. "I gotta get back to work, catch you in a bit kid!" With a bright smile, the dark haired doctor was off.

"What are you doing here. . . ?" The little one asked, furrowing his brows as you quietly approached his bed side.

"Well. . ." You sighed softly, a smile still evident on your features. "I used to occupy this room not very long ago. I came to say hello to Jin, and then I heard about you." You chirped. "Is it alright that I visit you?"

He nodded, placing his bookmark into his novel, and setting it aside.

"What's your name?"

"Tsurugi, Yuuichi!"

"Tsurugi-kun, it's nice to meet you."

You spent about half an hour with him, he told you all about his parents and his younger brother that he absolutely adored. Unfortunately his parents were unable to pay for a surgery that could possibly get him to walk again, so instead they were forced to take a cheaper route of maintaining him instead. This way he could go through rehab and exercise often, they also provided him with medication so he wouldn't be in pain the entire day.

He was such a young kid, but fighting so hard in his own way. There was so much sparkle in his eyes when he talked about his little brother, or soccer.

You promised to come back and see him again. When leaving, you asked Jin if it was possible Yuuichi could get to watch your match against Outei - and the ravenette had happily obliged.

The more you thought about your situation, the more you realized that you were your own person. There was no 'living for nosaka's sake' anymore. You weren't being visited every day by him in the hospital - in fact, you were just about to face him in the finals.

Unfortunately, everything you thought of him had turned out to be a lie.

He was no humble young man that was generous to help people; he was an Emperor that looked down at everyone as if they were pawns. He was so unbelievably powerful - and back then you were so frail and weak.

Thinking of his warm smiles. They just hurt. They hurt you.

You pressed the button on the elevator and took a small step back, waiting for the doors to open. A small sigh slipped past your lips - there was no point in reminiscing. It wouldn't change anything.

Once the doors opened, you lifted your head.

A bouquet of flowers in his hands, Nosaka stepped off the lift and took your hand, pulling you aside. You'd only seen him this morning, but he showed up again.

Like always.

Again, and again.

Always.

With his smiles. His touch. His words.

You wished to god, that he'd go away now.

"This is the last time. . . That I'll get this chance." The red haired male handed the flowers to you. Without any complaints, you took them. You could see the desperation in his eyes, he knew exactly what was going to happen between the two of you.

"Sometimes I wish I could go back to the past, and change everything." He muttered.

You lifted your eyes to him just for a moment, stepping past him into the elevator. Turning around, you pressed the button for your floor.

"I'm sorry Yuuma. There's no going back."
