Chapter Six.
For three days you refused to have visitors; which was basically code for refusing to let Nosaka into your room. You knew he had come the first day, you'd heard his voice from the hallway. He must have been arguing with one of the nurses. The other two days, you didn't know if he tried to see you, but you were more than sure he was visiting Akane. Of course he would be familiar with other girls, plus, she had went to his school. . .
Nosaka could do whatever he liked, and with whomever he liked - but for some reason, it still hurt. It hurt to know he was visiting another girl on the same floor as you, getting her flowers all the time, suddenly the gifts he brought for you, were starting to lose value.
When you were just about to give up, and lock yourself in your room forever, you had heard a knock at the door. Immediately, you hoped it was Nosaka, despite how much you also didn't want to see him. You jolted up from your bed and waited cautiously.
Jin quietly crept into your room and smiled at you, it was a bit of a relief to see him first, but the other person who had followed after him had confused you greatly. You didn't exactly remember his name, but it was the male you'd seen at the arcade the other day, when you were out with Nosaka. He was the one who needed to talk to him about something important, a classmate, or maybe even Nosaka's good friend. You were then reminded that Nosaka had told him that you were his girlfriend, which was a brutal lie.
"[L/n], this is Nishikage Seiya, a student from Outei Tsukinomiya. He came by to see you, I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to let you two talk." Jin muttered, he gently pat your shoulder before bowing, then leaving the room. You'd trusted him with your life a billion times, there was no need to suddenly doubt his actions - maybe Nishikage would clear things up for you.
"I'm sorry to bother, but I need to talk to you." Nishikage trailed off, his gaze slowly falling to the ground. He looked worried, desperate even.
"Of course, sit down." You gestured to the chair by your desk. He politely bowed in thanks before walking around your bed and taking a seat. For a while, he stared down at his shoes, trying to collect his thoughts. You were genuinely kind, always friendly, it'd just been terrible events that hurt your ability to trust others.
"Is this about Nosaka. . ." You furrowed your brows. Nishikage quickly lifted his head, that was enough to answer your question.
"Something's not right, and I don't know what to do. I thought maybe you understood more about him that I did. Maybe he told you something more. . ." His voice slowly became quieter. You heaved a small sigh, so the both of you were left in the dark.
"Nishikage-kun, Nosaka told me nothing. I know absolutely nothing about the real him, maybe everything he said was just a lie. I don't even know why he continued to come see me if it was all fake." You refused to cry, and shook your head. "Why are you worried? What's going on?"
". . . I don't want to betray his trust." Nishikage stared at you carefully. You merely tilted your head and thought of something else to ask, there had to be a way around this.
"Can you tell me about Outei Tsukinomiya?"
"I can't."
"Of course." You ran a hand through your hair before sighing. "Thank you for coming to see me, if I every find out anything, I'll let you know, Nishikage-kun." You managed a sweet smile for the male. He only barely seemed to settle down, he must have been on edge all day, all week.
"Thank you as well, [L/n]-san." Nishikage quietly stood up and bowed to you. Just before he could leave, you got a few last words in.
"You and I must be in the same position."
You had heard him come to a halt, but, without saying anything, the male continued out the room. Now things were just more complicated than they were ten minutes ago. Instead of burying yourself in regret and depression, you decided to get out of bed and leave the hospital for a bit. You were given a day pass to leave for two hours, Jin trued you'd be back, and allowed you to leave on your own.
Stressing over Nosaka would only worsen your condition, bad as it already was (and when you were just about getting better. . . How cruel of him). Maybe some fresh air would clear your head, and you could finally get a good night sleep.
Out of curiosity, you strayed around one of the local schools, which was rather close to your aunt's apartment. Since Outei Tsukinomiya was out of the question, maybe you'd consider transferring to Raimon. You liked the look of it, everything seemed so lively. You were excited for a new start. . .
Padding along the sidewalks, and nervously avoiding the glances of students, you found yourself near the soccer field. Team Raimon was training. Maybe you'd join the soccer team, and make new friends. One of the players had stopped for a moment and looked over at you, he had rather strange looking blue hair and matching eyes. You suddenly jumped before looking away, rather shy. He had every right to be curious why you were here, not being a student and all, easy to tell given you weren't in Raimon's uniform.
You were staring off into the distance for a while, trying to avoid catching eye contact again - only to look back out of your own curiosity and find him walking over to you. He was a nice looking male, rather small, but definitely taller than you were.
"You're not a student here. Can I help you with something?" He asked in a smooth voice, rather charming if you had to admit. Your eyes blinked nervously. . .
"U-uhm. I was thinking of transferring here, s-so I came by to take a look!" You responded with just a slight bit of confidence. It was the truth after all, no point in lying. "I'm sorry for disrupting your practice." Although, you lost all your backbone in a mere second, and bowed your head, embarrassed.
"No, no it's fine. You don't have to apologize. Um." He timidly rubbed at the back of his neck, eyes wandering here and there. "My name is Hiura Kirina, I hope you decide to be a student here."
"I'm [L/n] [F/n], thank you so much for understanding." You quickly lifted your head, eyes softening, brimming with hope. Hiura gave you a small smile, to which you returned graciously. He had opened his mouth to say something more, but a bunch of voices in the distance had stopped the both of you. Hiura turned around and the both of you looked over at the commotion. Your eyes immediately widened.
One of the Raimon players were gripping tightly at Nosaka's collar. . . Why in gods name was he here, now of all times. As much as you wanted to turn back around and run in the other direction, you felt like you had to do something. You scampered a bit closer, Hiura following behind, but when your eyes caught sight of a female standing extremely close to the red haired male, you stopped.
"Nosaka. . ." You let out a small breath in defeat, there was no end to this, was there? "Nosaka!" Out of pure instinct, you called out to him. The fight had stopped, and all eyes were on you.
"[Y/n]- what are you-" Nosaka took a few steps closer to you, but you took one back, and he realized he was in no place to go near you.
"Who is that?" The blonde haired girl from beside him spoke up, you wanted to answer her question yourself, but waited to hear Nosaka's answer instead.
"An old friend of mine." He muttered to her, sparing a second of a glance. "[Y/n] what are you doing out of the hospital by yourself?"
An old friend to her, but his girlfriend to Nishikage, what were you to Akane then?
"I can take care of myself, Nosaka. I don't need you around all the time." Your voice was quiet, it hardly sounded like you were scolding him.
"She's thinking of joining Raimon." Hiura filled the silence. You were shocked, you'd just met him, and he was already standing up for you.
Nosaka glared at him. He nestled his eyes shut for a moment before simply walking closer to you.
"Of course. You can make your own decisions." He furrowed his brows, you wondered if he was pretending to care, or if he was being genuine. "[Y/n], I wanted to tell you everything for so long, it just never felt like the right time. Wait for me, okay?" He reached a hand out, pressing his palm against your cheek.
"Stop." You shifted away desperately.
"I think you should leave now." Hiura protectively stood in front of you. Nosaka's features went cold, but, he left anyways. It took a few seconds for the atmosphere to lighten up in weight. One of the Raimon players perked up and lifted everyone's spirits in a second.
"You said you were interested in joining Raimon?" A perky dark haired male chirped. You smiled at him and nodded, which seemed to make him rather happy. "It's nice to meet you! My name is Inamori Asuto! It's nice to meet you!" He reached a hand out.
"It's a pleasure." You gently shook his hand. "My name is [L/n] [F/n]."
If you could start a new life here, then that wouldn't be so bad.
