Chapter Eleven.
[ notes/ the well awaited chapter eleven lol. guys do me a favor and don't comment constantly to rush me - because it really really really will not work. i write the chapter when i have time and that's all, i can't do it when i'm busy obviously lol ^ v ^ <3. this chapter is tatsuya and hiroto centered, have some eisei boys. ALSO, i will not write the matches exactly how they go, i'll probably never do that. i'm adding my own spice to it, so it won't be like you're reading the script of the anime lmao, plus it's more fun that way for me too. this one is kinda,,, boring to be honest but what can you do ]
"Kiyama Tatsuya won't return the to bench! While Kira Hiroto is absent, he can't back down! I sense that from Kiyama's play today!"
You watched the red haired male from afar. He clearly hurt his ankle bad, but didn't want to sit out for even a minute. A small sigh slipped past your lips. . . Who knows what he was fighting for at this point. His pride, his team, the frontier, or Hiroto's recognition. Nestling your eyes shut for a moment, you stalked back to your position. Boys were so strange.
Asuto was first to get the ball, but lost it after Kiyama went for a slide tackle. Immediately you kicked the ball to Goujin and marked Kiyama. You pushed your shoulders against one another, he seemed much more on edge than you were. It was disappointing, really. This couldn't possibly turn out to be a fair match like against Zeus or Hakuren. Eisei was already so much at a disadvantage, and now that Kiyama was hurt, his plays were nothing short of sloppy.
"You should sit out, you know." You told him blatantly. He narrowed his eyes.
"No way." Kiyama shot back. You had to resist the urge to scoff.
"You're only going to worsen that injury, ruin the first half for your team, then sit out for the rest of the second." It even hurt you to say it, but you were only pointing out the obvious. A hard pill to swallow, if you will. The male paused for a moment, eyes widening. You were just about to get back to the game, before he called you out yet again.
"You don't understand!"
"Of course I understand!" There was no point in arguing that notion any further. After all, the both of you were on the pitch, and playing for different teams. You not only hold your weight, but hold everyone else's when they can't hold their own. "Look at everyone on your team! They're worried about you! When someone on the team is hurt and refuses to sit out, it causes the entire team to lose their focus. They want to look after you but at the same time they have their own positions to worry about. . ." You trailed off for a moment, returning to your usual soft voice. "Hiroto must be watching. You don't need to stress anymore Kiyama-kun, he's on his way."
That was the last thing said before the two of you returned to the game. Unfortunately, Kiyama wasn't able to understand you completely. He was too stressed out and worried to listen to anyone, even those on his own team. You wondered if you'd worded everything properly, if there was something else you could say to get him to sit out. . . For some strange reason, you were starting to worry about the opponent as well.
"Everyone! Keep the ball away from Kiyama as best as you can." You turned to the team. They all nodded hesitantly, while Hiura approached you.
"Is it because of his injury?" The blue haired male asked, brows furrowed.
"Quite. If he falls it will look like a foul, so we need to be careful." This was a lie, but once you smiled, Hiura bought it.
Nagumo got past Asuto, then passed to Suzuno, who passed to Kiyama - then he made a normal shoot. Norika easily caught it with Uzumaki the Hand. Frankly, she probably didn't even need to use a hissatsu. After that, the whistle was blown - Eisei's coach called a time out. Kiyama was finally taking a rest.
Asuto quickly brought the ball up and passed to you. With your hissatsu, you made a goal. The score was now 3-1 in Raimon's favor. Asuto gave you a grin and thumbs up, to which you happily waved at him in response.
For a while your tactics consisted of having the important players marked, so it would be clear for Hiura to long pass to you. He'd use Ice Arrow to get the ball all the way up front, where either you or Asuto would get it. You used your hissatsu again, and made another goal. Saginuma has used Worm Hole, but unfortunately it wasn't stop enough to stop your shot. The score was now 4-1 in Raimon's favor yet again.
Even your own team was shocked. . . They'd never seen you play so fiercely before. It was brutal for Kiyama to sit out and watch, but, you knew exactly what you were doing. This was by no means to make him angry, but to lure out a certain someone to the field. Your plan had worked, Kira Hiroto made his appearance in Eisei's uniform.
While you weren't looking, Iwato had accidentally knocked over Nagumo Haruya. The red haired male was lying in the grass for a while. You quickly scurried over to see what happened, and to help, but he didn't want any of it. Nagumo was switched out for Kira, and this was where the entire match had flipped upside down.
"Didn't expect to see you here, sweetheart." The oddball jested with an obvious smirk. The both of you were forwards, and currently trying to get past one another. . .
"Sorry, maybe I should have told you I had an invite." You just had to humor him with a bit of teasing. He did laugh though, so that was good.
"Oh no, this make things much more interesting." Hiroto grinned. He managed to slip past you with the ball and continued to break past every single other player with his rough play. A small gasp slipped through your lips, he made it look so easy to knock over someone without being called out for a foul.
Your old tactics wouldn't work here, there was absolutely no point in marking anyone, because this asshole didn't pass to anyone! Hiroto broke past defense, and kicked the ball straight up. This was your first time seeing his hissatsu; The Explosion. Despite Norika using Mermaid Veil, she couldn't stop it. The score was now 4-2. You were still in the lead, but given the fact Hiroto made a goal in three minutes, this could change instantly.
He ran back over to his front position, passing by you. Just to be petty, Hiroto lifted a hand and brushed a finger under your chin.
"How was that? Sweetheart."
If you weren't so focused on the match, you'd have noticed a few of your teammates were very unsettled by this. Even the two boys in the stands didn't like how close Hiroto was playing with you. You felt bad you weren't able to tell everyone that you actually met this guy yesterday on your day off, but they all had no idea. You'd let them know as soon as you could.
The match went on, mostly consisting of Eisei playing recklessly. Looks like everyone was getting themselves hurt on their team. Yagami Reina had stolen the ball from Asuto, but hurt her leg in the process. . . There was something very wrong going on, and that something was tied back to Hiroto for sure.
"You're not getting past me this time." Intervening in Hiroto's individual play was going to be difficult, but you had to try.
"Try me!" The boy shot back.
If he was going to refuse to pass, then that was going to be his weakness. You stared down at the ball and mimicked his footwork, he seemed to have gotten fed up and made an awkward step. Immediately, you swiped the ball from him and dribbled with it as fast as you could. Before you could reach the goal, the whistle was blown. First half was over.
Kiyama Tatsuya was placed back onto the field. Things were only going to get more difficult.
Hiroto broke past everyone yet again, holding a conversation with Kiyama all the while. Once he reached the goal, he used The Explosion, but Iwato slowed it down with The Wall - then Norika caught it with Mermaid Veil. She threw it up as far as she could, where Asuto managed to get it.
You couldn't help but overhear the two boys bickering; "soccer isn't an individual sport!" , "they just got lucky this time! I just have to get past everyone, right?"
"If soccer is an individual sport, then I'd like to know why there's eleven of you on the pitch!" You scoffed, swiping the ball clean from his feet.
"What the--!?"
"Asuto!" You made a long pass to the other male, before immediately following up the field after him. He passed to Kouzomaru who went for Fire Tornado, which was almost completely stopped by Sagunima's Worm Hole, but. . . Goujin had ran right up to the goal and made a header. The ball went right in. You had to laugh.
The score was now 5-2.
"See that? My new Hissatsu!" Goujin piped up, pointing a thumb at himself.
"You did great!" Happily, you called out to him. He bashfully looked away, flailing his arms.
You could practically feel how pissed off Hiroto was behind you. The game went on with more struggle from Eisei's side, that was until Hiroto learned to pass. All his passes were nothing short of rough, but his teammates managed to catch all of them.
Midorikawa Ryuuji had made a goal with Astro Break, putting the score at 5-3. Eisei had fought back as hard as they could to get back the two goals they were behind in, plus another to avoid a tie. Unfortunately, it was too far out of reach.
This match had meant a lot for both Kiyama and Hiroto, but it meant a lot to you too. You held the feelings of Afuro, Shirou and Atsuya - everyone in the teams you'd faced before, and become friends with. You wanted to meet Nosaka in the finals. Teaching Hiroto a lesson here, was only just a bonus.
The ball was passed up to you, and you attacked with a new shot Hissatsu. The entire half of the field was glowing. Saginuma had attempted to stop the ball with Drill Smasher, but he couldn't hold it long enough. The ball went in, and the whistle was blown. The game was over, with a brutal score of 6-3.
The crowd was cheering, everyone up from their seats and clapping. For both teams who'd played their hardest. Asuto threw himself onto you before happily waving at all his supposed fans. A small smile marred your features. Out of curiosity, you scanned the arena for a certain red head, and spotted him standing up as well. Both Nosaka and Nishikage were clapping for you. This got you a little too excited and you jumped in your place, calling out to him.
"Thank you!!"
Nosaka couldn't hear you, but he understood anyways. With a charming smile, he waved back at you.
"She's amazing, isn't she?" He muttered under his breath. "[L/n] [Y/n]. . ."
"She is. . ." Nishikage responded hesitantly.
"Damn, you're good. I'll admit." Hiroto placed a hand on your shoulder, grabbing your attention immediately. You quickly calmed down and turned to him.
"Uh, thank you." Your brows furrowed. "You are as well. . . We should play again some time."
"Yeah, sounds good." He grinned. A genuine smile, unlike his usual mischievous smirks. Kiyama had approached you as well, and reached a hand out, which you happily shook.
"How did you know?" The red haired male asked, with an apologetic smile on his face.
"Know what?" You asked.
"That Hiroto was on his way." He responded. Your eyes widened for a moment, how did you know? "Well. . . I met Hiroto yesterday, and he really proved he was a kind person."
"Really? What did he do?"
You brushed some of your hair away to show him the earrings. Kiyama blinked a few times.
"Wh- Hiroto did you take your father's credit card!?"
"Huh-!?" You should have known. No kid could afford real ass diamonds. "Hiroto!?"
"Listen it's not a big deal okay, he probably didn't even notice." The male huffed, waving a hand in dismissal. "Anyways, [Y/n], you wanna go out sometime? Fine dining or fast food?" He jested.
"Neither! Not unless you pay out of your own pocket!" You swat his arm playfully. "And you have to bring along Kiyama."
"Wh-what?"
"That defeats the purpose of a date, [Y/n]!"
