Here is another large project I worked on, and luckily, I took photos as I progressed to the end.
This was my second attempt at using charcoal. The idea was in my head for a while - a hand dripping paint from a brush, and the paint forming into sketches, and then into real animals.

So I began with an outline of the basic idea.

I added some more details and smaller
Animals before starting with charcoal.

I started with the hand, trying to make it as realistic as I possibly could.

So, I then worked on the Elephant. I don't know if you can tell, but the back legs are in that "sketch stage" as described at the top. That was the idea - to make it go from paint, to sketch, to realistic as

Of the paint.

We then move into the paint and snake.

The two birds on the right and the giraffe are now done for the most part.

I darkened the sketch lines on both the giraffe and elephant, and finish the animals.

So now I can call it completed.
The idea was for it to appear simple, and not to take attention away from the whole idea of the drawing.
