*·Chapter 16·*
"Well, isn't this just fun?"
"Mom..." Both Namjoon and his little sister Eunju groaned at their mother.
"Sorry."
The two couples along with Eunju and Mrs. Kim were currently in the entrance hallway near the stairs debating which situation they should tackle first.
Jungkook's intense family in the living room or Taehyung's long lost father (aka Mrs. Kim's boyfriend) in the kitchen.
"I think we should deal with Kookie's mother and grandfather first since they are a bit more difficult before tackling the older version of me. I'm not ready to dive into that one yet." Taehyung suggested leaning into his boyfriend's side with an arm wrapped around the older's waist.
"That does seem ok. Tae and I can be your support while the ladies entertain the gentleman in the kitchen." Yoongi agreed.
The others didn't object to the suggestion.
"Let's go Juju." Namjoon's mother ushered her daughter towards the kitchen leaving the boys in the hall to discuss more.
Namjoon sighed rubbing his eyes, suddenly feeling way too tired. How did things turn out like this? They were just going to have a lovely dinner and meet his mother's boyfriend that may or may not be Taehyung's father.
"Well dinner turned out way more exciting than I thought." Yoongi grunted.
Namjoon huffed turning his attention to his very quiet bunny. He didn't like an all too quiet Jungkook, shit never turns out well.
"Kookie?"
"You've met my grandfather before?"
'Here we go.'
"Yea..."
"When?"
Ok he's curious, Namjoon likes a curious Jungkook than a too quiet one.
"Hmmm, remember that first time I decided to leave school early on your birthday so I could make you a cake and I had to wait for you at your house until you got home at your regular time?" That was a mouth full.
The younger slowly nodded as he recalled said time in the past.
"Ok at the time you didn't know about the cake and I had to ask the maids for help with the things I needed since your kitchen was so huge-"
"Hyung you're straying." The younger chuckled.
"Sorry. I was in the kitchen when he arrived saying he wanted to surprise you with a visit and we just started playing chess while the cake was baking. And just talked. I don't know, he just took a liking to me and usually calls me to check up on you because you never tell anyone what's really going on with you during that time." The older babbled on closing the distance between him and his bunny.
"He wasn't there when I got home that day." Jungkook grumbled at the thought.
"He had a business emergency....you're mad aren't you?" Namjoon was proud that his voice didn't break because the thought of the younger being mad at him almost made him cry, almost.
Jungkook smiled softly raising his hands to rub the older's slightly red cheeks.
"No. Just curious love. I guess we should go talk to them now before my mom drives the old fart up a wall." The brunette laughed.
When the two couples made their way into the living room Namjoon's mother was placing glasses of fruit juice on the coffee table.
"Oh there you all are. I thought you might be thirsty so I brought some refreshments, enjoy." The older woman smiled.
"Thanks mom." The pink haired kissed his mother on the cheek before she left.
After everyone was finally seated, Jungkook's mother and grandfather in the two seater couch across from the boys in the three seater with Taehyung on the arm next to Yoongi who had an arm around the younger's waist.
"Do they really need to be here?" Mrs. Jeon asked indicating to Yoongi and Taehyung.
Jungkook picked up one of the glasses filled with juice. "I should be asking you that." The youngest stated before taking a sip of his drink.
"Jungkook!" The woman gasped.
Namjoon pinched the younger on the leg he insisted should be perched upon the older's leg.
"Kookie, behave." The older warned.
"Dayoung-ssi let's not argue." The older Jeon interjected before taking a sip of his drink. "If Kook feels more comfortable with his friends around so be it, they basically grew him, kept him from straying from the correct path. A role that should be filled by his parents."
"Father!"
Yoongi snorted almost spitting out his drink.
"Aye aye, I'm right next to you, no need to yell." The older Jeon grunted rubbing his ear.
Namjoon sighed unconsciously rubbing the younger's leg that was on his causing said male to lean closer to his ear.
"Hyung, stop. You're turning me on." Jungkook whispered.
As if his hand was caught on fire the older pulled his limb back mumbling a soft apology while extracting a chuckle from the younger.
"Do you not have any self control? What kind of display is this?" Jungkook's mother said, disgust evident in her voice that was slowly getting on Namjoon's nerves.
"Dayoung, stop." Grandpa Jeon warned.
The woman stood up, a humorless laugh slipping from her lips.
"No I will not. Father you must understand that they cannot be together! What can this child do for Jungkook? His father ran away with some woman leaving his family, he also has a history of violence. Who's to say he won't leave our poor Jungkook broken and penniless or worse hurt him physically?! I'm sure there are better more financially stable candidates available that can also help us business wise." The sneer the woman tossed Namjoon's way as she finished her rant was almost unbearable, almost.
"Hey lady, what the hell do you know about my best friend to be sprouting shit like that?! You need to get your facts straight!" Yoongi growled about to tackle Jungkook's mother, not caring that she was a woman. If Taehyung wasn't holding him back they would be taking her to the hospital right about now.
"Mother you've gone too far!"
"Namjoon-hyung is nothing like that!"
All through the arguing back and forth Namjoon was quietly looking at Grandpa Jeon, their silent conversation not being noticed by anyone. The older Jeon had once told him that Namjoon reminded him of his younger self, ambitious and protective of the people he loves.
Poor Mrs Jeon had failed to realize that Grandpa Jeon had already placed Jungkook in Namjoon's care years ago. Jungkook was his whether they liked it or not. After all Grandpa Jeon would do anything for his only grandson.
"So Joonie, how's work?" The older man asked cutting the argument right down the middle throwing the opposing parties into confusion.
Namjoon chuckled rubbing the back of his neck. "It's good. I'm working with a recently formed boy's group, helping them out with their debut album."
"Ah that's great! And how's the family?"
"Well my sister got first place in her school so she's up for a scholarship, she's as smart as her brother. And my mom's boyfriend's here too, back from business overseas so she's very excited." The younger smiled his dimples making their appearance.
The older man laughed nodding his head in understanding.
"That's great! How's Kook and his studies?"
"Gramps, do you even need to ask? I was his tutor after all."
"Of course! My bad. Then I assume you're taking good care of him like I asked?"
The younger smiled his eyes closing slightly. "Always."
The older chuckled raising up from the couch. "Then continue, I leave him in your care once more."
"HUH?!"
Jungkook, Yoongi, Taehyung and even Jungkook's mother was having a hard time comprehending the conversation between Namjoon and the older Jeon.
"I told him to take care of Kook. I was kind of hoping something would grow between the two because I ship it. Namjoon is a good anchor for Kook." The older man explained.
"I don't....what?" Dayoung stuttered out.
The man sighed turning to his daughter-in-law.
"Dayoung, you have no right to dictate his life. Ever since he was born, you tossed him to nannies and maids when what he really needed was the love of his parents to help him grow, especially that of his mother. You're only his mother in name.
"His father has accepted and support his relationship, you need to try to or you will lose Jungkook completely. Which mother could bare the thought of losing their child because she couldn't accept him for being him, for being in love. Oh and also you should remember that you come from a poor and dysfunctional family, if it wasn't for my son taking a liking to you I doubt you would know what Gucci smells like."
Jungkook watched as his mother left the living room, cheeks red with anger, slamming the front door shut. Honestly he didn't feel anything since she's only ever been a voice on the phone and a photo in a picture frame most of his life.
"Well Kook, I must be off. Joonie tell your mother that she has a lovely home."
And with that Grandpa Jeon left.
Jungkook breathed out heavily then turned his attention to his still seated boyfriend, gasping his face in the palm of his hands as the younger leaned over him.
"God, I love you."
Before Namjoon could reply his lips were being claimed in a slow sincere kiss promising forever to him.
"Please get a room you two." Yoongi grunted covering his eyes making Taehyung giggle.
"Sorry Hyung." Jungkook smiled.
"Thank you for watching 'Jungkook's Intense Family Dramarama'..... Now it's time to tune into 'Taehyung's Long Lost Dad?'" Namjoon announced.
"Hyuuuung."
