Chapter 7

Vivian

I was back in the room with Zerek and I had my arms crossed. "Guess she didn't believe me about one thing." I said, with a huff.

"Or she's just doesn't know right from wrong yet. She'll need time to know the truth of what's going on." He said and I looked at him.

"I think that might've been it." I muttered and he walked over to me.

"And I thought I told you to stay with one of the brothers." He said and I shrugged.

"It's my bedroom and I'm self-conscious, okay?" I said, with a shrug and I sighed. "And I only meant to be away from one of the brothers for a moment so I could change into sleep attire, but apparently not." I said as I was subconsciously pacing back and forth. "And to find out that my sister was alive the whole time while I was hiding away at the castle. If I'd known, then I could've at least went looking for her."

"Even though the location is secret from everyone else?" He asked and I sighed as I continued pacing.

"Well, it's not like you couldn't have just told me in a dream, but then again, I feel like Diavolo would've thought I was crazy!"

"First off, my ability to dream walk and alter dreams only applies for those I'm nearest to at the time. Secondly, I thought you didn't care about whether people thought you were crazy or not. Lastly, why are you pacing? It's making me nervous and nauseous."

"Oh, I don't know, maybe cause I'm slightly stressed from being away from the brothers that you told me to stay near, inside a cell, and barely getting Lucifer to believe a word I said and on top of that, he thought that I was the one to have taken Ayano away to your so-called headquarters." I said and I leaned against the wall of the room while running my hands through my hair. "And on top of that, I have no clue how to help Ayano get back with her brothers. . ."

"That's something you may have to figure out on your own."

I woke up and sighed. "Nice talk, Zerek. . ." I muttered to myself before looking at the lock. I walked up to it and I put my hand over the lock, but when I tried to use my flames, nothing happened. "The hell. . .?" I asked, retracting my hand back into the cage with me. I tried it from where I was and still nothing.

"Having troubles with your magic?" I looked to see Sylvia and my eyes widened.

"What are you doing?" I asked her. "They brought you here against your will," She set a bowl of food onto the ground inside the cage.

"Not the way I've seen it." Sylvia said and she then walked around to the next cage. "And on top of that, it's plenty personal of what you've done. You tried to kill me and you never came at all after that, did you?"

"Because you were dead, Sylvia. I didn't know you'd still be alive. . ." I said and she looked at me for a moment.

". . .Zerek." I looked back at her as she looked away from me. "What did he say this time?"

"Nothing much this time. At least not much that would be useful." I said, muttering the last line to myself.

"Such as what?" Sylvia asked as she walked up to my bed. I sighed and waved my hand back at her slightly.

"Nothing in particular. Besides, I don't think you'd be finding any of the information useful for yourself anyway."

"It'd be useful to have known what else he lied about." She said, walking away. I sighed to myself and sat against the bars behind me and I leaned my head back, watching her leave.

"Would be nice to know how not to screw up anything again." I muttered as I hugged my knees to my chest and rested my eyes.

Sylvia

I walking into one of the experiment rooms that was vacant and I found a blade that was unusual for being in an experimenting room. I picked it up and it turned out to be a dagger. I don't know why, but it felt familiar. I put the tip of the blade where my heart would be and a rush of adrenaline ran through me as my head suddenly ached. I dropped the dagger onto the shelf quickly as memories ran through my head.

"What are you doing?!" I yelled in a panic as I tried to escape my seat, but I was strapped in tightly, so I couldn't escape. "Let me go! Vivian!" I called desperately and I heard voices chuckle a bit.

"Guess she's got the fighting instinct. Perfect." A man's voice said and I felt tears go down the side of my face.

"Don't worry too much, child, by the end of this, all of your worries will be gone." The man said and there was suddenly a loud pitch that ran through my head and the two men were speaking indistinct words to me before I shut my eyes and screamed which shortly led to the room suddenly being cold. I slowly opened my eyes and saw two bodies that were frozen solid and it was snowing in the room. I couldn't remember anything of what happened before though and I could barely make out what was going on now. My eyes closed to nothing but darkness for a minute and when I woke up, I saw a woman with red hair and it was tied back. She had gold eyes. And not to mention, seemed very flat chested for a woman.

"You're awake sooner than I thought,"

She sounds a lot like a guy for being a woman, I guess? I thought and then I sat up.

"Where am I?" I asked.

The memory stopped and it felt like I was out of breath and I was sweating a bit.

Vivian was right. . . I thought and I shut my eyes. And Zerek. . .he knew what was going on then. . .so he lied the whole time just to keep me safe.

I felt frustrated and guilty at myself that I had done what I did when he was killed by the master. I decided to keep the fact I had my memories back secret and I headed out of the room calmly so it didn't seem like anything was wrong. After getting to my room, I grabbed eye color contacts and put them on so I looked exactly like Vivian.

Though, now I just have to be able to act like her to be able to sell myself as Vivian. I sighed to myself and teleported to Vivian's room. I sat on the bed and stared at the ground for a moment.

Should I really have to go through with this. . .? I thought before I began to remember one of Zerek's statements. . .

"You should try being who you are, Sylvia. Not who others make you out to be."

I shook the thought from my head before I teleported back to my room. I took the contacts out and I growled, throwing my lamp across the room before I sat against the foot of my bed. The lamp ended up broken and I ran my hands through my head and rested my forehead on my knees.

I heard my bedroom door open and I glanced to see Ayano. "Are you alright," She asked and I glared towards the ground before shutting my eyes tightly.

"Nothing you need to worry about." I said and she seemed concerned.

"But-" She seemed to notice the now-broken lamp on the floor by the wall and I held my hand up.

"I'm fine, Ayano." I said and she rested her eyes.

"I. . .came to report that I failed to kill Diavolo. He was too strong for me to deal with." She said and I glanced at her for a moment before standing up and keeping my eyes hidden.

"Alright. I need you to keep watch of someone in the prison then." I said and I took her down into the prison cells as she looked around.

"By the way, why don't I ever get to see what the master looks like?"

"You probably could, but you'd lose your life if you did so." I said and she stared at me shocked for a moment before I glanced at her. "Is something wrong with that?"

"No, I just don't understand how you'd met him and know what he looked like before."

"Being a lieutenant is his way of showing that I'm one of the few he'd trust to know how he looks and all." I said simply and I got to Vivian's cell to see her asleep. I looked at Ayano and had my arms crossed. "Keep watch of her for now." I said before walking out to report with the master.

I got to the master's office and he looked at me. "Come inside, Sylvia." He said and I walked inside.

"Ayano returned from her mission."

"And?"

"She couldn't kill them."

"What?!" He glared at me with his eyes glowing red.

"You were expecting an untrained child younger than her brothers to be able to kill both Lucifer and Diavolo, with Diavolo possibly being more powerful than Lucifer. Yoh expected too much from her after not even a week." I said and he glared at me for a moment before resting his eyes and looking ahead of himself.

"And where is Ayano now?"

"I have her guarding Vivian in the prison right now to make sure she doesn't try to escape."

"Even when she has no way of using her powers?"

"Yes, but she may find items that can be useful. And just in case, I still have the prison keys, hanging in my room." I explained and he chuckled.

"Smart girl. Unfortunately, if you weren't right about Ayano, I would've poasibly gone on the brink.of having you killed, but since you're right after all, I can let it slide. You start training her and the other children that were brought in." The master said and I nodded.

"Yes sir. Is that all?"

"Is it?"

"I suppose that means it is. . ." I said and left the office. When I got to my room, I sighed and sat on my bed.

Lucifer

Heather had taken down a crow trying to attack us earlier and no he was binded inside a cage in my room, sitting on my bed. I had my arms crossed, glaring at the crow.

"Start talking." Heather was standing next to the crow.

"I ain't talking." The crow said and Heather looked angry.

"I can have you put in a crow stew, if you don't tell us!" Heather said and the crow suddenly became scared.

"Fine fine! I'll answer anything I can!"

"Then where's Vivian and Ayano?"

"I don't know where Vivian would be myself, but I can only say to talk with the one that looks like her. She's a lieutenent, so she can share everything about the specifics. As for Ayano, she's probably under gone a certain process the master has set up for centuries."

"And what about your leader? What is he planning to do?" I asked.

"He needs someone that are like Vivian and Ayano to be able to get close wkth you, your brothers and Diavolo so he can start a war up against angels."

"A war? Against the Celestial Realm?" Heather asked and I glared at him.

"So then getting Vivian and Ayano would be an advantage for him then." I said and Heather had her arms crossed.

"I think you're lying about not knowing anything yourself."

"I'm not! You can have your king in here and he could be saying that I'm not! I only know that the master wants to starrt a war against Heaven, but he wants to start by making everything he does look like an angel's doing, such as all of the missing demon children in town, whether they have families or not."

"So a bunch of kidnapping to try and start a war?"

"No, but he wants to start a war soon, so it should be obvious who is first target here." He said and I glared.

"That means if he goes after Diavolo first, then he'll certainly be able to start a war without problems." I said and he smirked.

"And on top of that, we've already got one who is close with him." He said and Heather spoke up.

"And why does your master want to start a war? Who is he exactly?"

"Both questions I can't answer." The crow said and I got angry enough to show my demon form.

"Answer!" I yelled and the crow froze for a moment.

"I ain't lying! Look, he doesn't trust lowly demons like me to know who he is in case something like this happened and I never even saw what he looked like. The orders we get are always given to us by our thirteen lieutenents."

"Where is your headquarters," I asked as I walked up to the cage.

"It's at the center of a maze just outside Devildom between here and a different way to the human world if you were to fly there."

"Fly there?" Cordelia suddenly came into the room.

"I think I might know where that is." She said and Heather and I both looked at her.

"You do?" Cordelia nodded.

"There's a few of them, but one of them specifically has a maze not far from it." Cordelia said and I nodded.

"Let's go then."
