After arriving at the Santalune city ember is ready to take down a first gym leader, viola.
Viola:Hello. I'm viola the bug type gym leader. And you are?
Ember:My name is ember. I am here for my first gym badge! No matter what I do and what I say I will never give up on any kind of challenges!
Viola:Then come this way. Come and face me. She followed viola inside.
Stretching her arm holding her Poké Ball in front of her, Viola tossed the ball up in the air. "My lens is always focussed on victory. Surskit. Go." A blue insectiod Pokémon came out of the blonde Gym Leader's Poké Ball.
Ember:Go fennekin!!! Ember tossed her pokeball and release her fire fox Pokemon out of her pokeball. Viola didn't take any time to start the battle. "Surskit. Let's start off by using Bubble Beam." Obeying the command it got from its Trainer, the Pond Skater Pokemon raised its front legs and, soon, a blue coloured water bubble formed between its legs. It lowered the ball of water, which formed into multiple bubbles and quickly made their way towards fennekin but she dodged that attack. "Not bad, ember," Viola complimented as she spoke out her next move. "But, if you want speed, I'll show you. Use Aqua Jet." The Bug and Water-type recovered quickly as it surrounded its body with water and shot towards the fox Pokémon and struck her, causing some damage.
Ember:"Fennekin hurry get up!!" The fire fox Pokemon got up with and shake the water out of her fur.
Ember:Now use scratch! Fennekin scratched surskit in the critical hit. Viola stared at her Pokemon who fell to the ground face first and unconscious. "Surskit!" Viola called loudly. The referee glanced at the defeated Surskit and declared, "Surskit is unable to battle. Fennekin wins."
Ember:Well done!!! Viola recalled her Surskit too as she thanked her Pokemon for a battle in which it gave its all. She turned her gaze to ember and said, "That was amazing, ember. It's been a while since my Surskit has been taken down that easily." The Bug-type Gym Leader smiled. "But, I shouldn't have expected any less from you." Ember just maintained her confident grin throughout, not being surprised by anything that Viola threw at her so far. "Thanks, Viola. You could say that I won because of the type that is a little advantage." The photographer laughed at ember's modest words. Viola is calling on her next Pokemon, a pink-coloured Meadow Vivillon. "Viii vii on," the Scale Pokemon shrilled, taking flight and showing its beautiful wings.
Ember:Fennekin use ember!!! The fire fox Pokemon is blasting ember at vivillon and it took a critical hit.
Voila:Vivillon use bug buzz!!! Vivillon is attacking fennekin with a bug type move but it's not very effective against a fire type Pokemon.
Ember:Fennekin use fury swipes! Fennekin is fury swiping the bug/flying type Pokemon in just about five times and vivillon is knocked out. "Vivillon is unable to continue. The winner is fennekin."
Viola:"Congratulations you have earn the bug badge."
