Part 6
That Saturday night at precisely 6:00 PM, three loud knocks echoed through the hallways. There he was, dressed very finely. The sunset seemed to just illuminate that ginger hair of his...
Shyly looking at the ground, he greeted me with a sheepish "Hello". He doesn't seem like someone to be shy, but he's turned red as the sun behind him. The fading sunlight cast a warm glow onto everything. Catching a glimpse out of the corner of my eye, I see what seems to be a scar across the side of his neck. I really wonder what happened...
Later during dinner, we were being silent. Just... staring at each other until he finally broke the ice. I don't think he's much of a talker...
"I have to say, you look absolutely beautiful tonight."
"Aww, thank you! But I don't think I look THAT good."
"No, really, you do! But it's literally what I have to say!" We both laugh. I never would have suspected someone as classy as him would have such a good sense of humor!
"So, about that strange name of yours." He looks at me funny... almost like he's saying, "What do you mean?"
"I mean, Lysandre doesn't seem like any regular name to me." Again, he looks at me funny. So I look at him funny, too.
"It is my real name! ... Well, part of my real name!" I ask him what his name is. Ooh, what's it going to be? Jacob? Eren? *GAAAASP* Eren sounds REALLY cute!!
"Ugh fine... Hello! My name is Levi Lysandre Ross, how are you? Ah. It's... it's embarrassing." ...Embarrassing? No! I love the sound of that! But I can't say it without being weird.
We enjoy the rest of dinner, then walk around until we get to a hill with a huge tree. The stars are at the peak of the sky, shining brighter than I've ever seen them. After a few minutes of laying on the grass beneath the tree, he finally speaks up.
"See this tree? My parents planted it right here, twenty years ago. Right before they gave up on me." .... gave up on him? Does that mean he's been on his own for most of his life? That would mean he was only four or five...
"Gave up on you? I feel really bad for you..." he looks over in surprise. I guess nobody's ever cared this much about him.
"Oh, what? No, they- they died in an accident. They really loved me very much, but never got to say goodbye. I didn't mean it that way, it just seems like they did." So... they died in an accident. Could it be how he got that scar?
"Uh, this may sound weird. I've noticed you have a little... scar on your neck. What happened?" He looks away...
"Ok, here goes... I was about thirteen or fourteen, and dealing with depression. Let's just say.. I had to let something out somehow. ... But enough about me! Tell me about you. What do you like to do? What are your hobbies? How do you not attract every man you see?" He made me blush at the last one, triggering a small laugh. We talk until we get tired, and we head back home. But before he left, he... kissed me. After that, I never felt the same about him. I didn't feel like I was out of his league anymore. Everything changed...
