Remnant, a world filled with its fair of tragedies and set backs, the world of Human and Faunus relations hinging on thin wires. They have expanded into many lands, using various new technologies, resources and weapons to build many grand cities in the names of lords and gods. Trying to one up the other in ways of boosting their powers

There were 6 Kingdoms before the Great War: Vale, Mistral, Vacuo, Mantle, Lapina and Elysium.

These kingdoms have placed many stakes in Remannt, with many cultural differences and beliefs clashing against one another. And as this continued, the two Kingdoms of Elysium and Lapina were having strong relations with another, getting along in ways of cooperation and shared knowledge. This would soon lead the two to form bonds that would ascend time and blood

In the start of the 1960's, Global time, Mistral and Mantles mistreatment of Faunus and the persistence that their way of life is more superior and effective then the others, irked the likes of Vale and Vacuo, including Lapina and Elysium. Especially Elysium, as they believed no way of life is above another's, and the fact Mistral is willing to sell their own people for profit

That was also Lapinas problem, as they were Faunus who managed to escape their cruelty and found the one that would became their home. Soon they started to believe war was on the horizon, given as their Shaman had premonitions of war soon to come.

Even though the Kingdoms of Vale, Vacuo and Elysium made their disdain known of their policies, but stayed back due to the possibility of enacting war faster. But that didn't mean they waited if it happened, Elysium and Lapina began to ready their armies incase war did seem close. Vale continued to preach their neutrality but offered support to the down trodden or those in need

Sadly though in the following months continued to make them fear of war, as senators from Mantle and Mistral were killed and was made public to the world. The two accused Vale, blaming them for their stance against their policies, but Vale naturally denied any involvement in the assassinations, but this of course didn't appease the two Kingdoms, so the King decided to face thus head on

King Osmanthus, also known as the great Warrior King, was suppose to appear and deny any accusations of the assassinations or any involvement of it. But he would soon be killed at the very front of many Valeans in the open, thus lead to the death of a great King and a good man. This launched a full launch onto finding his killer, and found him they did

It turned out it was a Mantilian sleeper agent, who was beaten by officials to know who ordered the kill. But he wouldn't talk, so he was dragged out of the police station by an angry mob, then lynched and stoned to death. This scoured the relationship between them with Elysium and Lapina, as they saw this was a cruel and unjust punishment, but they gave them leeway given the circumstances

After establishing a provisional government for the absence of a Monarch, Vale started to notice Mistralian ships making moves, ones that suggested war. With the death of their King and knowing the intent of other Kingdoms, they waited to see if they should do anything

Thus...the whole world held its breath, waiting for one to make the next move.

It would soon exhale as after continuous radio-silence from the ships and the non-stop coincidences, they presume it was a flee to exploit their weakness and attack. So on September 3rd 1981, the Valean National Guard launched their volleys on to the vessels, decimating them with ease and it made them wonder why, soon they learn why

Mistral called and demanded them to stop, as the supposed enemy fleet was in fact civilian ships that got lost in a storm. This enraged the Mistralians as they thought it was an act of war due to the policies they held, so following this Mantle entered and joined Mistral, as allies to the Valean threat.

Thus lead to the Great War, and the millions of deaths to come

As this progressed, Elysium and Lapina remained neutral with Vacuo, rather than war with themselves than anyone else. Elysium would provide relief efforts for the civilians in the war zones, with Lapina helping as well to go on ground evacuations from their side. Elysium would be skeptical of this, but set it as they believed helping people were more important

Sadly Elysiums neutrality wouldn't last long, as they were hit in the first time in their lives

On December 7th 1984, 3 years after the war started, an Elysium Air Force base was bombed by Mantle fighters, right at dawn. The Elysians fought back as best as they could, but they lost 2,471 people, 2,403 in military personnel including 68 civilians, and several of their military airships were damaged. This enraged many Elysian people, calling for payback for this act of aggression

So on December 8th, Elyisum entered the war, and they brought Hell with them!

The Elysians came in full force on Mantle, destroying all bases along side Vale's west coast, where the Mantilians established most of their bases. They came in with their advanced robotic units called Cyberites, people who gave their minds to be transferred to robotic bodies. Next were the tanks that leveled buildings, Mechs that moved faster then speeders and weapons that didn't relay on Dust

They took the West coast in a week while the Mantilians were trying to just trying to mount a counter attack, which failed before it even started. This already gave them signs they were gonna lose the war, but their allies would also do something that would bury them deeper in their graves.

On the East side, Mistral was demanding Lapina to join the war and make them frontline troops for them, basically treating them like slaves then people. King T'Chron denied them every time, saying this wasn't their war and they couldn't make them join. This only angered the Mistralians more and caused them to do...drastic acts of persuasion

They attacked a Lapina evacuation ship, claiming they were transporting weapons, and took the survivors hostage. They brutally tortured them for hours till they publicly executed them for attacking and kidnapping Mistral people, even killing Faunus as accomplices. This enraged the neutral Lapinas to the point they broke open the war plans and ready their warriors

All tribes of the Lapina Kingdom rallied under the horns of war, tossing their tribal armors on and got ready for war. The Lapinas were angered, their people were murdered for no reason, even Faunus were killed, though they may differ in appearance, they still considered them their people. Soon they waited for the sun to raise on the Mistralian coast, letting them enjoy their last sunrise

The Lapinas attacked in multiple locations, hitting their fortifications with heavy artillery from their tanks and ships that rested near the land. They tried to counter but their lighting speed hit-and-runs were unstoppable, plus their animal instincts made it hard to ambush or counter them. They liberated many Faunus enslavement camps, introducing them to the horrors

Famine, no water for weeks and the worst were done to the female Faunus, all who either committed suicide to the pain or the memories they endured. This angered King T'Chron, making him give orders to kill any man who violated these innocent people. This would be labeled the Panthers Hunts, where many military officers were killed in short periods of time

As the Mistral Campaign happened, in Vacuo soon began to see the horrors of the war broadcasted by the Lapinas, making them angered. They may be cut throats, liars and bandits in the desert sands, but this took it too far. So they contacted the Elysian forces, saying they wish to make a pact with them, as they believe they had intel that would help

Mantle was seening they were losing in Vale and needed a new front to conduct war against Elysium, so they attacked Vacuo and secured strategic strongholds to do so. So the tribes of Vacuo decided to take them back, but sadly due to their outdated weapons and tactics, they lost more than they gained. So they wanted to form an alliance with the Elyisans to gain them back

The enemy of my enemy is my friend

Soon diplomats from Elysium went to do peace talks, there they established a simple pact. The Elysians would lead the war effort, while providing weapons and supplies to the Vacuoans and training, in return for this the Elysians would get protection on the trade routes. This pleased the tribe leaders and so they signed the papers, now Vacuo entered the war

As this continued, a new King was chosen for Vale, King Ozymandias now lead Vale on their darkest hour, thus enacting the draft to recruit soldiers for the war effort. Sadly not many Faunus were willing to join, believing they have suffered enough due to the racial discrimination they've received in the Kingdoms. So to appease them and asking them join, the Lapinas came in

They would give a bunch of their random islands to the Faunus, including the land that would become Menagerie, and they would be allowed independence. This seem to appease the Faunus and soon many started to join, many stories would follow this soldiers, even one that would given inspiration to many future generations

The Last Faunus Legion

Soon the war was nearing the end, with Mistral losing ground as Lapinas forces were decimating their defenses. It also didn't help that many of their so called troops were forced Faunus slaves to serve their masters, they would flee in fear and that would lead to officers killing in, shooting in them in the back. This continued till Lapina forces took over the capital of Mistral

After hearing their allies lost in Mistral, Mantle went into a defensive battle, reinforcing their defenses around their capital and...'clean house'. After pushing the Mantilians out of Vacuo, Elysium pointed their sights on Mantle. So with proper planning with Lapina and Vacuo forces, giving Vale time to recover from the war, moved in to end the war

As they moved in, Elysium forces began to find scorched houses, fields and abandoned stables, making them believe the Mantilians did the Scorched Earth tactic. Destroying any resources the Elysians could have used, but they had an unlimited amount of supplies so it didn't bother them much. What did bother would soon come to them in the caves

This would be filed in by an recording of Lieutenant Colonel John Patterson of the Black Panthers

"It was like looking into the shithole of Hell, the...shit I hardly call them shacks, more like outhouses, were so small they tried to shove early 30 people in. 5 to a bed as best they could, they had no showers, eating sludge they were given and...fuck this makes me mad as hell! From what we gathered the Mantilians would give them no food for weeks, only if the females gave their bodies for it

And when they didn't...oh Gods help me, they would feast in the dead corpses of their fellow prisoners. This lasted for months, some went crazy and killed themselves, that only gave them more to eat. This continued till they pulled their forces back, leaving them to die in that shit hole...I've been a good man, I followed all rules of engagement, never violated or committed any war crimes

...That day I let loose the dogs of war and we hunted them down and killed them like the monsters they were!! I made my peace with what I've done, and I will be ready to meet my Maker and accept what punishment he gives me."

The discovery of this camps enraged the Elysians to the point they became demons in war and destroyed the Mantilian forces. Then on November 10th of 1985, Mantle fell to the combined forces of Elysium, Lapina and Vacuo, ending the Great War.

Reports would describe the end of the war like a clam rushing river, it waved over world as the kingdoms all began to engage in peace talks. Let its hope it goes well...for everyone's sake.
