Wyatt Bering was, for all intents and purposes, normal. He went to college, earned a degree in Engineering, landed his dream job of working on military aircrafts, and was hopelessly in love with one of the test pilots — Carol Danvers. Wyatt was brilliant at his job with an ease and understanding that was hard to come by, but when it comes to Carol he just seems to flounder like a fish flopping around on dry ground. Somehow though, he stutters and stumbles his way into a place in her heart.

And then everything goes horribly, painfully wrong.

"You be the sun. I'll be the moon — just let your light come shining through; and when night comes, just like the moon, I'll shine the light right back to you."

Additional Information

•Wyatt is not meant to be creepy in any way. Yes, he loves Carol and has for a long time, but this love is not obsession. Wyatt's love for Carol began when he saw her kindness and humor. He had a crush on her, but he knew that nothing would ever come of it, so he pushed his love to the side and focused on his work. Until Carol and Maria show up in his office to talk about one of the planes that he designed and they tested. Carol's sense of humor and easy nature, and Wyatt's awkwardness and kindness allow them to form an easy friendship. A friendship which eventually makes it out of the friend zone and blooms into a beautiful relationship.
•Wyatt loves Math and Science like they are not only actual people, but also members of his family. He is a complete and total nerd.
- Wyatt is smart, crazy smart, but his common sense is sometimes lacking.
•Wyatt's brain sometimes moves faster than his mouth, which can create some awkward situations. One of which is only referred to as "Oklahoma part 2. Don't even think to ask about Oklahoma part 1." You can decide what happened in Oklahoma that was so horrible and hilarious that Wyatt refuses to speak of it.
•Wyatt does not have any abilities other than his brain and what random knowledge he has collected over the years. You can give Wyatt an ability later on, but please wait until after the events of Captain Marvel.
•Wyatt is not with Carol in space for the years that she is presumed dead. He's on Earth, with Maria and Monica, and Wyatt still works for the military.
            -Wyatt does have a secret project, a basic looking spaceship, that he is working on in his free time. The only people that know about this secret project are Wyatt, Maria, and Monica. The only problem with Wyatt's spaceship is it's lack of power. He hasn't found anything that will work for it during long space flights — it currently works for shorter distance space flights. Wyatt has tested it under the cover of darkness, and he loves what he's seen of space so far.
           - This secret project is because Wyatt has always loved space. Wyatt and Carol had even had conversations about space, what was out there in the galaxy, and their desire to see it for themselves. This is part of the reason that Wyatt has finally finished his space ship, but continues to look for a better power source. Wyatt wishes to leave Earth behind and travel space, just like he and Carol dreamed about. Higher, further, faster.
- At the end of the events of Captain Marvel Wyatt does follow Carol into space. Actually she invites him, and Maria and Monica, along but only Wyatt accepts. Carol is able to transfer a small bit of her power into Wyatt's original power source, which enables them to travel the galaxy together.
•Wyatt attended Stanford. He loved it. Wyatt also attended University of California, Berkeley. He loves learning and if it wasn't for student loans Wyatt would be one of those forever college students.
•He hates formal occasions because they require him to leave his comfortable clothes for stiff suits and ties. Wyatt refuses to buy a nice and comfortable suit because he "doesn't want to waste money on crap like that."
•Wyatt and Carol like to banter back and forth, once Wyatt gets his stuttering and stumbling under control.
•After Carol's "death" Wyatt spirals for a bit and falls into a small pit of self loathing. Maria and Monica eventually bring him out of it, but for a short time Wyatt was an alcoholic. He gets better though and once he's brought out of the worst of the self loathing Wyatt stops drinking altogether. He never touches alcohol after that.
•Carol likes Wyatt from the moment they begin talking because he is always honest. You could tell if he was lying anyways because of how twitchy he gets, but Wyatt almost never lies.
•Wyatt doesn't look down on Carol or Maria because they are women. He respects and admires them for what they do and who they are. Wyatt does his best to never judge a book by its cover.
•Wyatt somehow ends up partially taking care of Goose after Dr. Lawson dies and Carol is presumed dead. Goose loves Wyatt but he's not that sure about Goose. Oddly enough, Wyatt is slightly scared of cats, but Goose wears him down and he gets over his mini fear. Until it turns out that Goose is an alien, then the mini fear comes back full force.
•Carol does remember flashes of Wyatt and snippets of some of their more meaningful conversations while she is with the Kree. Carol knows that Wyatt was important to her in some way before she lost her memories, so when she sees him again she feels a connection that she can't really describe. Wyatt is overjoyed that Carol lived and that she has made her way back to them (him) even though she doesn't really remember them.
- At some point Carol will regain all of her memories from her time on Earth before the Kree. I don't really care when or how, but it has to happen.
