Description

Maeve Cromwell has always known she was different. Her mother kept her hidden away from the other children in the neighborhood and always screeched at her when she got too close to the iron fence separating their home from the outside world. From a young age Maeve has been able to change the world around her in ways that most would call impossible. She can move things with her mind, control the elements, create illusions, and so much more. Not even she knows her own limits. The cruel children called her a witch, and without another explanation Maeve believed them.

She grew up alone and isolated, but once Maeve turned eighteen she flew out of town, not literally, and surrounded herself with people in the largest city she could think of, New York. Maeve went to school, got a degree in (you choose), and she began to teach at the same college in which she graduated. Life moved on, but Maeve continued to be different than everyone around her.

One day, she saved the life of a little boy. A taxi had came screeching around the corner just as the boy crossed the street. Maeve saw what was happening and with her powers she managed to save the boy's life. In the process, she exposed herself. Maeve, thankfully was able to erase her picture from the internet with the help of a hacker friend, Skye. She wasn't fast enough though, and SHIELD finally was made aware of her existence.

When the Avengers are called to action, Maeve is brought along for the ride. She ends up developing a connection with the shy scientist with a rage problem and surprisingly with Tony Stark.

Maeve must learn to face her fears and accept who is she is, if the Avengers are to succeed.

"But he won't. He's a part of you and we both know that you would never raise a hand to me. I know, deep down that he won't hurt me, just like I know you won't. And, if I'm wrong, and that is a big if, then we both know I can protect myself."

"I know you can protect yourself. That is not what I'm worried about. I'm worried that-"

"You're worried that if I'm alone with him, that somehow it'll trigger my fear response. Well, get over that fear buddy. It's not gonna happen. You're taking to the witch with the weird powers and the freaky flashing eyes. Horror stories have been told about people like me for a long time, the word witch doesn't have any good connotations."

"I'm not afraid of you Maeve."

Additional Information

•Maeve's relationship with her mother is nonexistent now, once Maeve left home she cut off all ties with her mother. You could potentially bring her mother back into the story to cause conflict.
•Maeve has no idea who her father is. Her mother never told her and Maeve never tried to find him. It's your choice if you want to bring this up.
•She is incredibly kind, despite the way people treat her she stays kind. This kindness is not weakness. She has been through a lot and came out kind instead of cruel.
•She is friends with Bruce before they begin their relationship. Bruce and Natasha never happens.
•She tries to talk Loki down, the outcome of this is up to you.
•She is friends with Skye from Agents of SHIELD, you can add more from that show or not, your choice.
•It is your choice if she finds Bruce after he disappears after AOU.
•Maeve is never afraid of the Hulk.
•She's allergic to dogs, but not cats.
