Josh has only ever known self reliance, needing to depend on himself from an early age. Because of this he has the mentality that he can only trust himself so he doesn't let people get very close to him but he does want to, he wants to let his walls down even though he doesn't know how to. Josh doesn't have very strong morals since he's always done what he's had to in order to survive, he's a bit selfish in that way.
Josh won't pass up any opportunity to prove himself on anything. He likes competition and challenges even if deep down it's only to prove his worth to himself.
Josh can be a very lovable guy or he can be cruel, depending on how you treat him first. He will care for those close to him and would do anything to protect them even if that includes violence of any sort. And when it really comes down to it, Joshua Pierce is as loyal as a dog.

Backstory:
Joshua grew up in the foster system and hopped homes like crazy. His mother had given him up at birth for reasons he didn't know and doesn't care to know. By the time he was ten he had already been in four homes and caused lots of trouble in each one. He got placed with a final home at fifteen and was told that if he messed that up then he would be on the streets. So he did what anyone would do, he made the streets his home. He found trouble there but made sure to keep it from his foster parents because after all he still needed a bed to sleep in. They weren't kind to him but neither was he. He found a love for fast cars and running while with them, even joining the track team doing distance running. He didn't make every practice and often skipped it to run with bad people, often going with them to escape the people he was given to.
