Music was bursting through the speakers, people dancing and getting drunk while strangers were making out with each other in every corner of the club..

It made Jennie roll her eyes, she was irritated by their energy.

Mostly because of her fresh breakup after she found out her boyfriend was cheating on her, that too with someone she couldn't imagine.

Like seriously? The College nerd? Be for real, bitch.

It wasn't like she was upset or sad, she was just surprised at the choice of her now ex-boyfriend. Was she not good enough that he had to hook up with a bookworm? It fascinated her at how easily people betrayed her.

Okay yeah, she was a little upset, not because of the breakup but because of the thoughts she was having.

Was it her body? Her looks? Her attitude? What did he not like about her?

It made her feel insecure no matter how much she tried to stay positive.

Maybe she had gained weight? Maybe she didn't satisfy his needs enough?

Whatever it was, she needed to know the reason of it or else her brain would explode.

A tired sigh escaped her mouth, the drink she had ordered wasn't enough to drown the thoughts out of her head. The reason she came to the club was so she could forget about everything even just for a few hours, but it didn't work. The place was crowded, loud and unsettling. The looks those lust-filled men were throwing at her were like sharp knives, slowly tearing her skin apart as she felt exposed even though she was wearing a full coverage dress. Nothing too revealing.

But who could change the mentality of these beings? Someone needed to teach them, not every woman is looking for satisfaction.

Jennie was lost in her own world when the bartender came back, asking her if she wanted anything else since her glass was already empty but she denied, not wanting to get drunk at the moment.

The initial idea was to get drunk but she had changed her mind already.

She felt the stool beside her being pulled as someone sat on it, she didn't mind it until someone spoke.

"A shot of tequila, please." - A deep voice rang in her ears, startling her as she tilted her head to look up at the owner of the voice.

It was a man, it felt wrong to say but he was hot as fuck. Compared to the other guys in the club he seemed to mind his own business and was the most handsome out of all. His black hair was slicked back from one side and he was dressed in a tight black shirt, the rolex on his left wrist shining bright under the lights of the bar.

She was shamelessly checking him out, even though she was drowned in her own misery a minute ago.

Not her fault that an expensive man like him chose to sit next to her.

"Anything else, sir?" - The bartender spoke, breaking her out of the trance she had fallen into as she moved her eyes away from his figure.

Inhaling deeply, she was about to order wine but stopped when she felt a hand on her shoulder, causing her to hurriedly turn around as she pushed the hand away. Her eyes turning slightly furious as she inched away from the creep.

"Can I help you?" - She tried to sound calm but the discomfort was visible in her tone, it only got worse when the man chuckled.

"Sure, you can baby." - His voice held nothing but dirty intentions and Jennie immediately stood up from her seat, wanting to walk away but he caught her wrist and with a swift movement her handbag landed directly on his face, causing him to release his hold from her arm as he winced in pain.

"Thought you'd nicely leave but oops! I forgot bastards like you don't have a brain." - A manly chuckle was heard as Jennie turned her head in the hot man's direction, only to find him smirking at how defensive she was.

"You-" - The man was about to grab the brunette's hair but instead had his wrist twisted behind his back.

"Last warning, bitch. I won't go easy on you so leave." - She warned him, pushing him on the ground as he groaned and was about to get up again but the guards had already reached the scene, he was immediately thrown out of the club for ruining other people's fun.

She sighed, rolling her eyes as she sat back in her previous seat and finally ordered her favorite, red wine.

"Are women usually this defensive or is it just you?" - He casually started, referring to her as she moved her head to look at him while he had already fixed his gaze on her figurine.

Jennie smirked and raised an eyebrow, propping her head on her left hand as she rested her elbow on the counter. Her attention completely on him now that the conversation had already begin.

"It depends on the woman." - Her answer was nowhere near what he expected, he tilted his head and casually shifted his stool near hers.

"What if I ask you? Are all men this attractive or is it just you?" - He snorted upon how easily she flirted with him.

"Didn't expect that to come from you. You looked like you had a breakup a few minutes ago." - Her smirk slowly disappeared as she felt the urge to roll her eyes but controlled herself. She sighed for the millionth time, giving him a hint of how correct his guess was.

"Wait- don't tell me you actually did? Why would someone leave a woman like you?" - She bitterly chuckled, looking elsewhere as she sat straight when the bartender arrived with her wine.

She sipped the beverage, finding an answer to his question but it was nowhere to be found. There wasn't an answer to it.

"Sorry for making you upset, babydoll. Didn't mean to do that." - She suddenly showed a small smile and looked at him, finding the nickname he gave her interesting.

"Babydoll?" - She repeated his words with a short giggle and he nodded.

"Yes. Your features are as if someone sculpted you by hand to make you as perfect as they could. Everything about your beauty is sharp yet delicate." - Her face slowly turned red as she sat frozen in her seat, flustered at the unique way he called her beautiful.

"Wow." - She looked away to hide her flushed cheeks, taking multiple sips of her wine before she looked at him again. This time with a genuine and delicate smile. Showcasing the hidden woman she was.

"Thanks?" - She trailed off, realizing they didn't even know each other's names.

"I'm Kim Taehyung, if that's what you're wondering. You?" - He replied as if he read her mind, catching her off guard again at how easily he was reading her like an open book.

"Kim Jennie." - He nodded, also taking a sip of his tequila.

"I came here to clear my mind, but men will be men, staring at women like some public property." - She opened up about her discomfort, causing him to nod in understanding. It was a sad truth.

"I seem to be of a rare breed, then." - He joked, making her laugh as she shook her head.

"You're quite interesting." - She confessed, making him shrug as he wanted to hear some compliments from her.

"In what ways?" - She hummed, thinking of a fitting answer.

"The most attractive man I saw at the club was able to distract me from my insecurities, it's interesting." - He raised his eyebrows at the mention of 'insecurities'.

"Why are you insecure?" - She bit her lower lip, not sure if she should say it or not.

"Just.. you know, my ex cheated on me with the least popular girl of the College. I wonder what I didn't have that she did." - He immediately understood her point and chuckled making her confused.

"You're seriously overthinking about this? You should've known by now that cheating can be done by anyone at anytime. It doesn't matter how much efforts you put in your relationship, if only one person does the efforts then it's obvious he never loved you." - His words were nothing but truth and realization quickly hit her. Why did she never notice this before?

"Forget about him now and focus on me. He's your past while I'm your present." - Jennie raised her eyebrow as she tilted her head, what did he mean?

"That's confusing." - He smirked and leaned closer to her, making her breathing stop for a moment.

"I'm the man you're supposed to be focusing on, babydoll. Not him."
