I changed the last few paragraphs on the chapter before so please re read the end of chapter 5 otherwise you will be a bit confused!
Both Ryan and Lydia glared at Elvira. The news report must have been a shock to both of them. This situation had only happened to Elvira twice before, where a missing male that she had sucked dry and then killed had been publically announced. Neither time was Elvira a suspect. But could she have messed up now?
Her mind flashed back to the night that she lured James Brand to his death. She was working, like she was the night that she took Mike. Donavon wasn't on the same shift as her but Bella definitely was. Would she remember Elvira dancing with James and then disappearing with her into the night?
Elvira may well and truly be a suspect of James' dissapearance. The thought hit her like a ton of bats descending down from the sky.
"Ell? Are you even listening to us?" The dainty voice of Lydia called out.
Elvira snapped out of her thoughts and opened the cupboard to get out a glass.
"Erm yeah, sorry. What did you say?"
"She wasn't listening." Grumbled Ryan as she turned down the volume on the TV.
Elvira turned on the tap and avoided eye contact with either of them. She felt her cheeks burn.
"We said that this missing guy called James was lying dead in your bed two nights ago. What are we going to do?!" Lydia cried.
"You two aren't involved." Elvira said after glugging a pint of water in one go.
"We already are Ell. Lydia and I live with you and saw his corpse! Not to mention his-"
"Just don't worry girls. I'll sort this." Elvira stopped Ryan before she could explain the size of his manhood.
"Will they find the body?" Lydia panicked whilst biting her nails.
"Not unless they send out scuba divers to the ocean."
"How the hell did you get out there?! Actually don't answer that question. Gosh this is all so stressful." Mused Lydia as she rushed into her room and slammed the door shut behind her.
Elvira sighed and sat down beside Ryan. Her phone vibrated inside her hoodie pocket so she checked the text.
It was Bella. Their boss wanted to see her at four o'clock but Elvira didn't have work tonight, would it be about James?

Elvira arrived on time at The Hanging Bat. If she could feel fear like a human could she would be shitting herself with fright.
She opened the black heavy door and stepped inside. No one was around, it was strange visiting the night club in the day. Sandra must be in her office awaiting Elvira.
Before knocking on the door Elvira drank the last few sips of her energy drink and tossed it in the trash.
"Let's get this over and done with." She muttered to herself.
She rapped on the door and heard Sandra's thick southern accent call out from behind it. "Come in girl."
Elvira stepped inside and smiled sweetly. Sandra was a big woman. She sat proudly behind her desk which was littered in papers and envelopes. A wad of cash sat on top of one pile. Sandra spotted Elvira eyeing it and put it inside a drawer below her. The room smelt of sweets, in a sickly way.
"I haven't seen you in a while Elvira. Not since I gave you your last warning." Sandra bellowed as if Elvira was in another room.
"No you haven't. What is this about?"
She picked up a sheet of paper that lay amongst the rest in front of her and cleared her throat.
"Elvira Montclair, you have been given three warnings this past year and I am afraid you do not have anymore to fall back on. Read this." Sandra handed Elvira the paper, her hands were sweaty as they brushed fingers.
Written on the paper was a list of Elvira's mishaps that she had committed during the duration of her work period. Her face flushed as she scanned through the atrocities.
1. Elvira performed oral sex with a male in the stock room and refused to stop until she had finished. With that she was given a week of unpaid work.
2. Elvira took two grams of ecstasy whilst working and pursauded Donavan to join in with her foolishness. They then proceeded to dance for three hours straight. She was unfit for work and was given two weeks unpaid time off.
3. Elvira drank way over the limit she was supposed to drink during a shift and stripped down to her underwear whilst parading around the bar kissing random men. She was suspended for a month.
"Oh. I forgot I did all of those things." Elvira bowed her head in shame as she passed the paper back to Sandra.
"Well, now you'll remember the cause of your dismissal. You are fired Elvira." Announced Sandra loudly.
"Fired?!"
"Yes. I'm sorry Elvira but because you left the club during your shift with Bella and Donavon last night when it was extremely busy and with a man may I add, you have created another problem to add to that list. We could have fired you months ago but we kept you on because you can be a very hard worker and the men love you which means we get more service but that doesn't mean we can turn a blind eye to everything you do wrong and that was the last straw."
Elvira didn't know what to say. She couldn't form a coherent sentence. What was she going to do now? No job meant no money and no men meant no delicious blood.
"Thank you for being a part of our team Elvira. I wish you luck in the future." Sandra said sincerely as Elvira headed out the door without looking back.
"Thanks. Bye."
"Oh wait, Elvira?" Sandra called as Elvira opened the door.
"Have you heard of James Brand?"
Elvira froze. Panic began to build inside her as she turned to Sandra, trying to disguise her shock.
"I don't think so. Why?" She asked, making sure she kept eye contact.
"A detective was here earlier. Apparently this is the last place he was seen according to your former employees. They were very helpful." Sandra raised an eyebrow, her eyes bore into Elvira's.
But Elvira's mask of fake innocence didn't falter.
"Oh I see. Well like I said I haven't."
"Okay Elvira. I'm just giving you a heads up incase the detective gives you a call. His names Andrew Miller by the way."
"All right. See you." Elvira said as she took her leave.
She walked out into the warm afternoon air. Did Sandra really just ask her about James Brand? Putting on her cat eye sunglasses and pulling up her hood, she tried to keep her cool as she headed back to her apartment.
She then lit a cigarette and took a long drag. As well as getting fired her ex boss had mentioned her murder victim. "Fuck it. I think I'll get wasted tonight. There's not much point in doing anything else." She grumbled to herself as she walked home.
