As much as it doesn't look like it; Satoru can see the ghosts of the deceased. they aid him in battle, as he is so kind to them, they tend to want to repay him. Satoru comes from a long line of kings and queens, from when his family was yet in the Elven World, therefore he is a master with the blade. He believes that coordinated and precise attacks with both the spirits and his sword are the way to go in battle.

Satoru's family comes from a long, noble line of kings, queens, princes and princesses. Before he was born, his parents had moved from the Elven World, to the world of El. There, they had built a kingdom, and other Elves had joined to noble and prideful kingdom.

Satoru had loved a good life, training his swordsmanship constantly, as well as having a stress free,happy lifestyle. Unfortunately, when he had aged 13, his world had come crashing down one night.

The kingdom was invaded by people who believed that the Elves had no right their world, and sought out to destroy it. It was called the Red Purge that night, due to the bright, scorching hot fires that had burned away his friends and families. Only very few had survived, and those that did wee dedicated to saving what remained of the kingdom.

Satoru, however, wanted to show the people of this world that Elves were a kind, good hearted, friendly race, so he left the kingdom to travel and speak about the Elven race. Along the way (because he managed to get lost, yet again) he had met Elsword, Rena, and Aisha, who had told him about the missing El. Satoru was shocked that someone had managed to steal the El, as it was the only thing from keeping his and Rena's world connected. If the El wasn't returned soon, he and Rena would both fade away in this world.

When Aisha, Rena and Elsword were battling against Raven on the airship; he had scouted the ship, searching for anymore monsters to battle with. He had come across Kigahen, who was just about fully recovered from his massacre to the village. Satoru had heard about the news earlier, a week before, and decided to battle against Kigahen. Kigahen, however, refused. Satoru has attacked noneless, angered that Kigahen would kill a village.

Satoru was badly beaten, but Kigahen thankfully spared his life. The two had never gotten along since, as Satoru holds a grudge against Kigahen. When Elsword suggested the idea of Raven and Kigahen joining the El Search Party as a way to atone for their sins, Satoru was the only member to be against it.

Trivia:
• Physically, mentally and in many other ways, Satoru is the exact opposite of Kigahen in every extent. If Kigahen was never an orphan in the first place, he would have ended up in a similar lifestyle to Satoru.
• Kigahen and Satoru has never had a conversation were at least one insult wasn't used.
• Satoru is constantly mistaken for a female.
• Satoru, as much as he hates to admit it, greatly respects Kigahen's brute strength.
