Chapter 11 - Stargaze
...
I arrived outside of Add's bedroom. There was a small crack on the bottom of the door, as light emitted from it. The lights were turned on, meaning that he was probably still awake. I knocked on the door.
"Add! It's me, Ara!"
I heard footsteps drawing closer and closer, as the door opened. Add was dressed in his pajamas, a black t-shirt with a purple outline, and purplish-white shorts.
"Yo. What brings you here? I thought I told you to go to sleep." he smirked.
"That's what I said to you, too. So we're both at fault here." I protested.
"Yeah, yeah. Now, answer my first question. Why are you here?"
"Well, I couldn't sleep..." I quietly admitted.
"So you came all the way over here, hm?" he chuckled.
I nodded as a reply.
"It's alright. I'm having a little of trouble sleeping myself. Lounging around in my room won't do us any good. Here, let's go outside and stargaze." he proposed.
"Okay. Sounds like fun!" I smiled.
"Mm, yeah." he took my hand, then walked out into the terrace.
...
We both sat down beside each other on the platform, gazing up at the starry skies. Each of them were so bright and dazzling, it was amazing. Add suddenly scooted behind me, so I could be embraced in his arms.
"You're pretty warm, you know. Or maybe it's just because it's freezing out here, and I don't have a jacket on me." he laughed.
"You can take mine if you want. Although it might be a bit too small..." I suggested.
"But then you'll be the one freezing cold, and I wouldn't want that." he smirked. "Plus, isn't the guy always supposed to be the one doing this kind of thing?"
"I guess so." I giggled.
"The stars are rather nice if I say so myself. I used to see em' all the time, from that long-ass window in the Ancient Library..." his voice trailed off.
It was quiet for a while, but it wasn't awkward or anything like that. Both of us were just enjoying the view of the stars and constellations. I wasn't an expert at astronomy though, I couldn't name any of them.
"Kekekekeke... If stars fell every time I thought of you, the skies would soon be empty." he grinned.
I blushed bright red. "W-Was that... a.... um, what did they call it... 'pick-up line'?"
"Uh-huh."
"Th-That's... so... unlike you!" I was surprised.
"Hm. I got it from the internet, it was something that popped up on my electronic Nasod screens. This was a good time to use it, wasn't it?" he snickered.
"I... guess so." I admitted.
"It's cute when you're like this, I must say~ Kyahahaha."
I could feel my face becoming redder and redder, I could feel the heat.
Add let go of me for a moment and appeared in front of me, pecking a kiss on my already-red cheek.
"Well, back to looking at the stars." he grinned.
...
An hour later, our stargazing session came to an end. We shared one last kiss before heading back to our own rooms to sleep for the night. I was ready to depart for the Halls of Water the next day, and I'm sure Add was, too. Until I face my brother again... I can't give up! Aren, I will find you. Your sister is now much stronger than before. I won't let you murder me in this timeline! After all what Add has done for me, I can't let him down. After all of that, I was able to fall asleep.
