Trouble

There was a small break in the defenses of the Hidden Valley. A gap between rock and tree, large enough to allow an orc through. Narrow and long, it lay upon the easternmost boarder. One by one, the orcs crept through the tunnel. Silence and stealth where required to complete this mission. The Master wanted the brat dead if they could not bring the tree rat to him. The sun was setting, its majestic view lulling those of the Valley into a false sense of security.
Of the 50 orcs of Dul Guldor, 25 were to be a distraction to the patrols. The other 25 were to hide within the valley until the guards were in the west.
The final rays of sun mingled with the fires of a building on fire. Screams echoed through the Valley. The patrols were heading west to confront the orcs and try to put out the fires. Chaos had descended. Elves were running around, trying to find their weapons and put the flames out. Parents were trying to find their children. The shadows grew ever longer. The orcs were close to their target. An elleth had just exited the room of the tree rat. The lead orc slit her throat before she could scream. Guards rushed passed the dark hallway they were in. None of the elves noticed the orcs. The door stood in the way of the orcs and their prey. The captain kicked the door down, causing the tree rat to jolt out of bed. The tree rat stared for a moment as the orcs closed in. Screaming started to come from the elfling, mingling with the other terror filled screams that filled the very air. The captain of the orcs roughly grabbed the tree runt and slammed him into the wall with enough four energy to knock him out. The elfling was thrown over the shoulder of the orc. They made their way back to the gap, killing the elves that saw them. The night became silent as they trekked through the woods. The flames had been put out, the dead buried, and the Lord of the Valley went to check on his youngest. Elladan was the first to notice the bodies littering the hallways which led to his youngest brother's room.
"Ada! The orcs made it to Legolas' room!" Elrohir called as he stood outside of the room, tears leaking from his eyes. Elrond joined his son outside the room and surveyed the damage done. The room was a mess. There was a dent in the wall the size of an elfling's head. There were muddy tracks leading to and from the room. Elrond started to follow the tracks, his guards and sons following him.
"Dan, will Las be okay?" Elrohir was shaken, fear for his home and his brother on his eyes.
"Of course he will be, Ro. We'll find him, you'll see. Plus, we can't let the orcs tell others how they got through the boarder, now can we?" Elladan tried to soothe his twin, wishing nothing more than to be hugging all his siblings as his Ada told them a story to soothe Legolas to sleep. When Elrond reached the gap, he gasped.
"Glorfindel, we filled this in not a fortnight ago!" Glorfindel nodded as he slipped into the tunnel/gap/thing. His guards followed him, leaving father and sons alone. Elladan turned and raced to get a small group of guards while Elrohir and Elrond raced to the Halls of Healing. Elrohir prepared a bed and some of the things that he was sure would be needed to handle the situation when they got back as Elrond packed two healing bags. Elladan joined the two in the Halls.
"Ada, the patrols are in position. The boarders are being secured. The orcs are still within our border. The Riders are mounted and wait for you. Your armor is just within the private chamber." Elladan informed his father as helped his twin get into the armor. Elrond slipped his armor on with the air of experience and slung the healing bag over his shoulder. Elrohir copied his father as they raced to the courtyard. They mounted swiftly.
"To the East. The tracks lead towards Mirkwood. They are being pursued by Glorfindel and his men. The boarder patrols are in position. We must not let the orcs leave our realm!" With that, the riders were off to find their Lord's youngest child.
