Forever Is A Long Time

Lindir carried the little one to his lord's chambers. Elrond was sleeping, oblivious to the opening of the door. Lindir placed the little one next to the lord. Leaning over a little to place a feather light kiss on the temple of Elrond. The Lord of the Hidden Valley shifted a little, wrapping his arms around his elfling. Lindir smiled. If only Elrond knew how much Lindir loved him. Glorfindel coughed softly behind Lindir.
"Time to leave, Lindir." Glorfindel whispered. As the two walked down the hall, Glorfindel smiled. "I know how you feel, Lindir. The ones that we love do not know of our love and cannot know until they are ready. We chose wounded elves, Lindir. They must heal a little."
"I know that yet my heart tells me to show him!" Lindir confessed.
"You love him but you love his children as if they were your own." Glorfindel says softly.
"They are mine. All four of them. They know that I love them as my own." Lindir sighed.
"All of Rivendell knows. Go to Elrond tomorrow. Tell him. I will do the same with Erestor." Glorfindel said. They both paused to look out the window. The orcs could be heard along with the wargs. Yet something else was out there. Something was prowling out there, waiting to snatch someone.
